| I stopped contributing to the site (at the level that I was), due to some frustration
with the new management/ownership, so you have my sympathy.
I'll occasionally submit a weight, but that's about it.
| If BrickLink keeps going at the rate it is going by forcing out its top contributors,
BrickLink won't have much of a community of volunteers left to do anything
for it. The extremely slow rate of new inventories being submitted for approval
to the catalog over the last two years as well as the loss of many major catalog
contributors to other sites is already indicative of this trend.

| Please "downgrade" from the recent update to the wanted list and give us back
the number of "needed" lots (eg: those where the have field is not fulfilled).
Ideally we should be able to not only see the number of needed lots, but also
the quantity of parts still required for each wanted list.
P.S. If someone were to analyse what functions each feature offers before designing
an upgrade, I'm reasonably confident that there will be less complaints about
missing features.
Measure twice, cut once vs. measure once, cut it too short and have to start
all over.
P.P.S. Tutorials on how to use new features would also help. Maybe info/features
in each upgrade are available that aren't obvious to all of us.

I would like to suggest that it be added to the new page in some form. Maybe

Also, the new page is nice to look at, but it has too much empty space leading

make sense to me. When I select "required" for a particular item, the system
doesn't factor in the quantity.

| I deleted my vote, however, I believe that bank transfers among individuals are
a path to unfair play. This is especially so when sellers charge extra for a
buyer to use a payment method that has some form of recourse against fraud.
This can even happen with honest people that don't intend to cause issues.
A seller gets extremely ill, coma, death, and is unable to ship the goods.
Unfortunately, it happens. I've read of at least 3 deaths, 1 coma, and various
other issues to BL members, since joining.
I will continue to use PayPal for this extra piece of mind that my buyers have
protection should something happen.

and the road towards it has collapsed behind me.. the more open this place is

In fairness for security of buyers, I would only vote yes if sellers were required
to offer a payment option that allowed recourse at no penalty (fees, etc).
Over the years I have read many forum messages about buyers losing money due
to using IBAN (often in the hundreds of $, euro). Bank transfers don't seem
to be in the spirit of fair e-commerce between individuals. Registered businesses

| This is where I think you are a little confused.
If I as builder decide that I don't need a bag of parts, then I can list
them in my store for whatever price I want. I'm probably less inclined to
factor in costs.
However, if I invest money to obtain a great deal of product, then there's
a set amount I need just to break even. There's generally a substantially
greater cost in being able to offer a vast selection of parts for a buyer to
choose from and that investment must be recouped plus profit for the seller to
continue to operate.
What's happening is the amount of profit has shrunk by a very significant
amount over the past decade that operating a store in not as beneficial.
This will lead to problems buying individual Lego pieces at some point, if the
trend continues.
Example: 10-13 years ago I had no problem buying sets with a part out value of
3-5x what I paid, which allowed room to discount slow moving parts.
Now, I would be lucky to get 2x and that doesn't allow much room for adjustments
when you factor in all costs.
In Suggestions, TokerSays writes:
| I guess that's where I get a little flustered. I wish I could remember where
but I saw that Bricklink started out because one Lego hobbyist had a bunch of
extra pieces that they decided to sell because they didn't need them. Those
hobbyist keep the average price per piece down. They get rid of their extra
pieces, they make a small profit. But its the big stores, whose hobby is to
sell Lego pieces, that are driving prices artificially high. Without the average
pricing tool we allow them to set their own profit margin. If they sold at the
same price as the hobbyist, their profits would be smaller. But it would be
a profit. And I would that if those big stores sold at an average price their
sales would increase. It may not increase enough to make up for the original
lost profit but they would still make a bigger profit than the hobbyist by virtue
of selling more product. I don't think I should pay $1.48 for piece because
the store has the quantity I need and the average price is $0.30. That markup
isn't for the Seller to make a profit, that markup is a blatant overprice.

| Now what _would_ be a total game changer, is the removal of _all_ price guide

| As you are most likely aware, this has been going on long before the feature
was offered. Back when we had sellers like ShackyShuffle and House of Logos
listing at what appeared to be near or below cost, which satisfied many people's
desire for cheap Lego and the constant price wars between HoL and a select few
stores. We have 10 or so years of damage and so many hands in the pot now that
I don't think removing this feature will help recover the market.
It might slow the bleeding, but the wound is quite large and will likely continue

| Voted yes. This was a great feature that made it easier to choose a store.

Now this function is not available, can I ask why?
Is it possible to have it back?
Thanks,
Balázs

| I figured it had to do with where BL was hosted in Indiana (Northstar?), since
admin lived in HI.
| I think it came from the fact the bricklink was brickBay and copied from ebay.
Ebay made bricklink change its name.
ebay did run on pacific coast time and I believe it still does, I have not checked
the time thing in a long while.
However most of bricklink is the offspring of ebay.

| Please no. This is 'BrickLink: an unofficial Lego marketplace.' Start
a different marketplace for other brands.

| Hello,
I hope someone from the Bricklink team reads me.
Here is my suggestion: why not expand Bricklink towards Playmobil products?
While the AFOP community isn't quite as vibrant as the AFOL community, there
are many adult fans of Playmobil out there (including me) who have been sharing
and buying/selling for years now on different internet forums. We even have our
own sets/parts database at playmodb.org
But this community lacks a global and well-organized marketplace like Bricklink.
So why not expand? It would be a bit of work from the Bricklink team's part,
but adapting Bricklink's framework to Playmobil products should be doable,
especially if you use the playmodb database which would spare you quite some
trouble. And it ultimately would mean more money for you.
I'd very much like you to consider this project. If playmolink or klicklink
or whatever its name was ever created, I'd certainly be the first to set
up shop and do publicity on your behalf to the AFOP community.
Thank you for your attention and have a nice day

European sellers required to cancel upon request (until the full cost is shown
upfront)? What value is there in showing cancellations?

| I don't trust BL's vetting process enough for this to make any difference.
They seemly haven't shown that they take the fraud going on seriously.
I'm thinking on the lines of selling limits and maybe escrow services in
addition to some other security in place.

| I disagree. There are plenty of instances where someone sold a minifig that
was missing a cape (for example). I've probably bought several figs that
were missing something.
There's a market for these, so why not accommodate it by using complete/incomplete.
| I prefer a rule that makes clear that any "incomplete" listing is incorrect and
will be reported and removed.

| If we exclude the free shipping from your terms, then I would have no idea how
much shipping would have been for said order or any order over 13oz.
It's not about being fair or not, but about estimating the cost before the
order is placed.
| Yes, but don't most sellers have a chart and terms that reflects what the
price will be? For mine it doesn't matter if you live in the same town,
I charge the same thing as I would charge any Domestic Customer, etc. Based on
my experience buying on BL, my rates are very fair.

|
| Please consider showing each seller's postal code next to their state. It
is important information in helping to estimate shipping costs.
For example, I just made a purchase from a store in Missouri, so I Googled zip
codes for that state. The zip code that I selected told me that shipping would
be zone 4. However, had I known the exact zip code or city, I would have discovered
that it was zone 5.
The difference was only about $1.50, but that amount could add up fast when you've
placed as many orders as I have (1,472).
* Or the name of the city, if that is preferable.

| Yea, but we'll be getting BL Studio soon. Nothing like it has ever been
done before and it was certainly the most requested feature from buyers and sellers
alike.
| I agree that the setup is not ideal, and it holds out a lot of hope for being
ideal. Something in the interim could have been done, but they did not set it
up that way. I don't know what else to say than I feel your pain and I am
doing a lot of work to make it less painful. With all of the other things needing
to be fixed and developed on this site that are much more important (e.g. instant
checkout, seller inventory tools, settings that don't stick, the awful version
2.0 wanted list changes that are needed, etc.), I don't see them putting
resources into changing this small annoyance anytime soon.
Best regards,
Randy

| I have always had a problem with vagueness when sellers say a set is complete.
When a seller says a set is complete I don't know if that means its just
all the pieces, or if its all pieces, instructions, and box. My suggestion is
that when selling a set there are three bubbles to fill. One to fill if it has
all pieces, one for instructions included, and one for original box included.
That way buyers can know for sure that they are getting a "complete" set. Thank
you.
