Yes it's happened a few times now so I am developing a stronger preference
for buying from sellers who offer instant checkout or quote request. The terms
doesn't really help much if they are going to argue that it requires a higher
rate than they end up buying. I once had nearly a whole 7740 train carriage sent
as a UK large letter (about 2GBP due to the weight) so it really is amazing what
is possible to get within the 2.5cm width restriction.
It's not great being a 1980s lego collector accepting the parts tend to be
more expensive, are more likely to be chewed cracked or yellowed and then to
get a bit ripped off on the postage. There are some parts that I have ordered
about 4 times to get the quality that I wanted but then the sets do look stunning
so I guess it's worth it. Expensive hobby.
I make good use of the thumbs-up and thumbs-down to remind myself which stores
have given me good or bad experiences in the past.

| Hi,
What's the best protocol for when a seller's invoice unexpectedly requests
excessive shipping charges on small item / low value orders?
I've made a couple of orders now where under manual invoicing UK sellers
have requested a parcel rate of around 4 GBP on what in the UK can be easily
sent as large letter at just under 1 GBP. I am OK with up to 1 GBP in handling
charges (paypal, bricklink, packaging, etc) and tend to avoid sellers whose terms
describe higher charges (or registered post only) so these invoices are about
2 GBP higher than I am happy to pay or would expect from their terms pages.
While it doesn't sound much it all adds up when placing lots of orders and
it seems unfair to reward those that make excessive unannounced charges not on
their terms pages. When the items arrive I can see they haven't paid parcel
rate and have paid the lower large letter rate.
I've got an order at the moment with a seller who seems unresponsive and
it took them a week to send the invoice which I quickly queried politely (nothing
about extra charges on their terms page although I would have paid 1 GBP without
question) and it's been nearly a week without a reply.
The annoying thing is that the parts are not rare enough to be worth paying a
premium. If we can't reach agreement on shipping is there any way of retracting
the order without risking being reported as a non paying buyer or have I got
no choice other than to be a bit ripped off?

Yes the fakes are getting really good now and sometimes they even show up as
a single part within a 'complete' minifig that doesn't have the Lego
logo even if it all otherwise matches up. All needs checking very carefully.
If they ever start using the Lego logo it will become impossible to tell.

From your photo it also looks like Trans Light Green to me. Maybe the brick structure
is causing it to look darker than the example as the sides and tubes overlap?
