First, the BrickLink Discussions Forum is actually many individual Forums all
joined together, including hidden Forums backstage for our community admins.
If you don't wish to read everything, start on this page and read only what
interests you:
https://www.bricklink.com/messageTopics.asp?utm_content=subnav
Second, you can customize the Forum to your exact specifications, including viewing
each thread without the replies. You can also block certain Forums (e.g. sales
posts). See the settings on this page:
https://www.bricklink.com/messageFilter.asp?viewFrom=P
I've never seen a Forum with this level of user customization, and I believe
most members don't even know about these options. Try out these suggestions
and see if that helps your impression.
I have been reading the Forum consistently for over 10 years, and I've noticed
that like rainy and dry periods with the weather, Forum participation ebbs and
flows with time. And if by "community involvement" you mean people like Foster
and Dan/Jon beating each other up on a regular basis, that sort of behavior isn't
tolerated anymore.
|
It might benefit the regulars and newcomers if this was added to the top of the
forum with links below to a shortlist of FAQs. And a hide option, if possible.

Yes, you can add them to your store as a custom figure.
|
I don't understand the system in place, because the only minifigures in the
MOC character category are pad printed. And if you visit the Custom Items,
the actual mini MOCs are still buried by the homebrew plastic listings.
There's probably wide community out there, looking for this. Eurobricks enthusiasts,
for one. There's definitely overlap with BrickLink there. Personally, I keep
posting figgy projects in the forum and people still click on those (thank you),
so maybe we'd see more mini MOCs if there was a proper place for them?

It would be nice to have a distinction between customs and MOCs. Add a minifig
category to the MOC Shop?

I thought the listings might be from sets waiting to be catalogued, but some
are from April/March. They don't appear to be custom, so are they getting
from LEGO directly

Wonder if it's related to the BrickArms color rebellion?

Hi John. The cats in the public viewing room, sitting on used pillows and beds,
have already been cleared for adoption. Most likely, they were waiting in the
backroom at one point. Glass half-full, some of the cats you saw eventually found
a loving home. And as far as shelter employees are concerned, a kind expression
is a false hope. Don't take it personally. I've seen adoption fees drop
to $60, but it's not a free clinic.

What a beautiful story, Cory. Sounds like you gave that badger biter the time
of his life.
Before moving, I'd visit a humane society that served as a hub for all shelters
in the valley. I loved the high-energy kennel with the biggest dogs you're
allowed to walk, but also walk the smaller dogs for a quick bowel movement in
parking lot bushes, a block or two. This fat roly-poly kinda thing caught my
eye one day, and we'd walk a little longer every time I stopped by. I guess
he was too fat, because one of the vet-techs told me he'd been put down not
transferred. What a crap day. Sometimes think about whether I would've been
allowed to start a 10 day-hold and other what-ifs. At the end of the day it's
easier just to shrug and say "damn you, world!"

We both mean in the forum thread listings, not the forum posts. Unless you click

It's the same plastic: Polyethylene. It's just made from fresh plants
rather than from dinosaurs (oil). But it isn't biodegradable in any way and
as far as I can see doesn't have much merit in terms of sustainability or
the environment.
"The new sustainable LEGO elements are made from polyethylene, which is a soft,
durable and flexible plastic, and while they are based on sugar-cane material,
they are technically identical to those produced using conventional plastic."
(and a bit of marketing blabla about sustainability)

Intentions aside, it's kind of fascinating - plants turned into plastic mimicking
plants. The equivalent of making a long-lasting forest diorama out of chemically
processed wood and pine resin?
No more plastic straws where I live, just like plastic bags a few years back.

It’s as Michael (Hurt) posted, with missing print. I don’t think it’s “worn off”
too clean. It's not uncommon with earlier Lego modified heads produced in
China. It seems their QC was not on par with other production sites of TLG

I've noticed their ink often doesn't take to their bendy heads. 9 years
