I saw this article in the WSJ about a new earning reporting requirement the IRS
has for sellers making over $700 a year in sales:

https://www.wsj.com/articles/you-made-700-from-an-online-side-hustle-now-the-irs-will-know-11650015000

Is Bricklink going to send this information about its sellers this year? If so,
I would think it will be a huge change and will make many small time and casual
sellers like myself rethink if it is even worthwhile to continue selling on BL.

BrickLink doesn't process payments so I don't think BL is going to send
anything to the IRS. But PayPal will - and I was under the impression that the
threshold was $600.

The thing is, selling income should be counted as income, and reported on your
tax returns, whether you receive a 1099 from PayPal (or Stripe, etc.) anyway.

What I don't understand about this though is that I made have earned $20
from a Lego set when I sold it on BL (and got paid through PP), but I might have
bought it for $15 (and already paid tax) two years prior...why am I being taxed
for $20 in earnings rather than the $5 actual earnings. Unfortunately, with this
low of a threshold, it may not be worth the trouble of figuring out (and keeping
receipts) when reselling.

I am selling a complete Winter Village Collection (All 12 sets in the series)
at my Bricklink store:

https://store.bricklink.com/tmxbricks

Superlot ID: 67668

The sets were all built once by an adult collector, disassembled and sorted in
bags by part type. They include all pieces (except for those marked extra in
inventories), original instructions and flattened boxes.

Because shipping would be extremely expensive, I can meet any potential buyers
within a 2-hour driving distance of Charlotte, NC.

I have two shipping methods set up - USPS Retail Ground and Media Mail. I have
Media Mail available for books and catalogs in my inventory but sometimes buyers
choose it as a shipping method for parts/sets. Is there a way I can block this
or should I remove the Media Mail option?

Thanks - I didn't know about this feature. It turns up mostly the catalogs
and magazines I have in my store, but not the superlot the buyer was looking
at - so that part remains a mystery.

It's possible you have items in your store w/out weight or volume* - try
going to your inventory page, checking off "Instant Checkout Unavailable" on
the left-hand side, and clicking "Go" to search your inventory for these items
(this will also turn up items that you've already specified are "Manual Only",
but it's a convenient way of finding items without weights or volumes).

*Specifically "volume bound" items without dimensions or "weight bound" items
without weight

I have had a few messages from potential buyers saying they could not complete
purchases they want to make in my Bricklink store. I got one such message from
a buyer today:

The site says that the seller cannot ship the items using any of the shipping
methods available. Therefor not allowing me to continue onto the payment process
to make a purchase. I can see the items in my cart, but that is as far as it
will let me go. Is there a way around that, so I can continue?

I cannot figure out why certain buyers are getting this message from Bricklink
and certain buyers are not. In this case, the buyer was interested in a superlot
I have:

https://store.bricklink.com/tmxbricks?p=tmxbricks&itemID=257464084#/shop?o={%22invID%22:%22257464084%22}

Superlot #65303

Is it because these items are in a superlot that the buyer is getting this message?

I currently have USPS Retail Ground set up as a shipping method that should work
for this lot:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/shipping_edit.page?id=117814

But I might be missing something. Since this is not the first time that potential
buyers have reported this issue to me, I thought I would ask in this forum to
see if anyone knew of a reason for the error.

I have set the prices for Lego catalogs I have to 100% off (free, in other words).
If you would like some catalogs, please place an order and you will only have
to pay for the cost of shipping. Please do not add any other items to your order,
as I would like to send these out via Media Mail and can only do so if it is
paper material.

Link to my store:

Thanks!

If the order is only for the free catalogs, then a buyer can't place an order.
The "Minimum Buy not met" error keeps them from checking out.

David

Thanks for bringing this to my attention – – I did not consider this. I have
fixed it now.

The potential buyer was trying to buy 41187 Rosalyn's Healing Hideout from
my store. I live in NC and as it happens, so does the buyer. But the buyer
is saying that although they can add the item to the cart, they can't complete
the purchase.

Everything looks OK to me, not sure what the issue might be. I was able to get
to the last step before buying with this set in my cart. Shipping was via USPS
Retail Ground for $14.33.

Thanks for checking it out. I will let the buyer know - maybe it is something
on their end?

It's hard to tell without more information. I was able to go through the
whole process (except buying) without any issue.

Are stickered parts no longer being listed as counter parts in Bricklink inventories?
I was verifying some set inventories and noticed all the following sets have
no stickered parts as CPs:

41322
41323
41327
41328
41329

For my own purposes, I have put stickered parts in the comments section of Brickstock
as I verify my inventories, but I liked having them listed as CPs.
