These parts are used in alternate models only. Similar situation can be seen
in where parts also used in alternate models only are already assigned
as regular
|
You are absolutely correct. Any parts that are always included in the set and
meant to be used in the main build or alternate builds should always be in the
Regular Items section of the inventory.
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=1562
According to the set packaging, this set contains 38 pieces. If I look at the
LEGO replacement parts data, all of the above pieces should not be extras. That
means they are all meant to be used in the alternate builds.
These requests have all been accepted, and the BrickLink inventory now has 38
pieces in it as well.
Cheers,
Randy

Nice catch!
There are indeed 22
used in the build, and this is confirmed by the LEGO replacement parts data for
the set.
This list from the set instructions is provided for future reference:
1x used in Step 5 on Page 5
1x used in Step 7 on Page 5
3x used in Step 9 on Page 6
1x used in Step 12 on Page 8
1x used in Step 13 on Page 8
3x used in Step 16 on Page 10
1x used in Step 38 on Page 49
1x used in Step 42 on Page 53
2x used in Step 6 on Page 57
2x used in Step 7 on Page 58
1x used in Step 11 on Page 59
1x used in Step 12 on Page 60
2x used in Step 14 on Page 62
1x used in Step 16 on Page 64
1x used in Step 21 on Page 70
There are quite a few other errors in the inventory, but I think they are all
related to extra parts being included in the Regular Items section. Those will
also need to be corrected.
Cheers,
Randy

Interesting. After another quick look at the inventory I think that there should
be 2 of instead of 3, but I don't know if it's an extra
part or not
|
That is one of them, but there are more.
Since I didn't have this set and I think it is pretty neat, I have bought
a new one to go through for inventory confirmation purposes. I should have it
within a week and be able to correct the rest of the inventory.
Cheers,
Randy
|
Oh yeah, it is pretty neat Shame it rarely comes with the original axle pins
nowadays :/

The truck contains 2 of the black axle pins and the hot rod and the trailer each
contain 10 black axle pins. The black axle pins appear on pages 5, 6, 8, 10,
49, 53, 57, 58, 59, 60, 62, 64, 70 of the instruction if anyone would like to
count them

instruction in the set 8376.
I suspect they are the same parts, but one comes with a black tile, but perhaps
there might exist ones without the auxiliary output. I also did not see any difference
in the mold

This is the version without the auxiliary output:

And yes there are two versions:

Thank you for this information. I wonder why did my modules both come with tiles
on the outputs. Perhaps someone placed them there and the seller didn't notice
it or he put them there himself? Is there a chance that some 8376 sets came
with a module like that?

That tile looks recessed rather than on top of the plate. If it was a tile on
top of the plate wouldn't it stick up further than that?
To the OP:
Here's a new 8376

Which looks doesn't have the extra connector showing but you are saying that
it comes new in the box with a tile already affixed?
Can you post a reply with some images comparing the ones you have?
Thanks,
Paul.
|
I bought a used 8376 as well as separate module without auxiliary output. They
both had the auxiliary output under a 2x2 tile, but since it wasn't new I
can't be sure if there exists one that actually doesn't have this output.
I tried to upload an image but I get an error.
|
I uploaded pictures to Imgur. I also added pictures from instructions which show
the output although I know this doesn't prove anything.

|
Thanks. From that angle it does seem like you have a point but like you say you
may just have 'with' versions with tile.
Leave it with us - I'll contact some sellers that have the 'without'
version and see if they can provide input on the output.
I presume all the examples you have are with the 3-channel switch underneath?
It also begs the question why if these are the same they have different numbers.
Both were added to the catalog by a previous admin. If you can find any part
numbering feel free to add it here (not the ugly looking melted in number on
the base though)
Thanks
Paul.
|
Yes, all of them have a 3-channel switch and I didn't find any other number.
Someone else provided a proof that 2 different modules do exist below my other
reply.
I do wonder if any of the 8376 sets had the hidden output and if not, why would
the previous owner of my modules put the tiles on both of them?

Not sure if ebay links are allowed here, but there is a new 8376 up for sale
right now, with good quality pictures and there is a visible square that looks
shiny compared to the rest of the module.

Also, if you take a closer look at the picture you provided as well as the bricklink
picture you can see tiny gaps between the square and the module. I feel that
section would be flat if the output was gone, but I'm not sure.
