Preventive action, as with Syria, Cuba, Sudan and North Korea. I shouldn’t think
they are offered as ship-to countries, either. For now.

Venezuela may be handled as such, soon, IMO

You've referenced "my friend" as both "his & her", from what country did
he, she or you order from?

What countries would you like to see on that list as well?

If indeed an order was placed and payment was made before the accounts of Iranian
users were cancelled, and if the ordered parts cannot be shipped to the buyer
because the seller has no access to the contact details of the buyer, BL should
compensate that buyer.

Just curious what I should do here cause this is a long story. I purchased a
UCS Falcon from a guy in the UK (I live in US). He requested I pay through bank
transfer and so I did after placing my order. After he shipped the order he cancelled
the order stating it was so he didnt have fo pay seller fees , I knew this seemed
very odd but didnt feel the need to question it as my package would arrive the
next day. After going to my post office expecting a large box hence it being
a UCS Falcon after all you can imagine my shock when I was handed a envelope.
I opened it to find an EMPTY LEGO MOVIE 2 MINIFIGURE PACKAGE !!! Now the seller
wont respond and I sent an email to bricklink and they haven't responded
in over almost 2 weeks , this all happened probably 1 month ago and some change
, I've been trying to deal with it and nothing seems to help so I'm open
to any suggestions

Just to let yall know I filled out a report for fraud with the station online
near were he was so we will see what becomes of it and I'll update this post
if anything occurs

The owners of BrickLink are probably just blocking Iran (and other countries
subject to sanctions) to avoid being taken to court for violating the sanctions.

Looks like BL blocked all Iranian users from buying:

https://www.bricklink.com/memberList.asp?countryID=IR

Actually, BrickLink has for years (well before the site was sold) maintained
an internal list of excluded countries. Unfortunately there was a bug on the
user registration and address change pages when these pages were revised around
2015, and this bug allowed new accounts from these countries to be created and
allowed the switching of addresses from older accounts.

The bug was just fixed this week, but that's why that link shows accounts
from Iran.

True, too true. I feel bad for people in these situations. Who wants to start
a Lego parts smuggling racket servicing Iran, North Korea, Burma, Turkmenistan
and all the other stans + Diego Garcia?

It is so sad to see some countries are restricted.

that's really unfair . my friend was ordered and paid , but now he can't
login to follow the order and his money lost.
so what should he do?????!!!!!!!

Perhaps the seller can send a refund once he becomes aware of the situation.
I imagine the seller is just as confused. If you know the seller through your
friend, perhaps you can contact them on your friend's behalf and alert them
of this situation, and try to point them to this forum thread, and perhaps they
will be inclined to refund given the circumstances. I don't know if PayPal
(if that is the form of payment) will be able to perform refunds, but I would
imagine so.

How did he log in to order? Did something just change during the night?

His order was registered on Monday. And in next day after the payment was made,
the user was cleared and his order was canceled by the administrator ...

Makes it sound like Iran isn't automatically blocked, but the user got manually
blocked when the seller saw they got an order from there.

I just checked and Iran isn't on my "ship to" list OR my "won't ship
to" list. So I don't think Iran is an option.

EBay has a similar feature, to protect sellers from accidentally selling embargoed
items to a country with sanctions placed upon it.

But I don't really understand. How was he able to join and place an order
if Iran is blocked? Did BL change something recently or did he register in another
country?

It could also be Hero Factory Cape, Large from set 44000 . They both look very

They're both metallic silver. Metallic silver is, as the name indicates,
a metallic coating; Flat silver is a type of coloured plastic. The latter has
a slightly more translucent or marbled look and doesn't reflect the light
as brightly as a metallic coating.

In Help, monica4391 writes:

both appear in metallic silver and next up would pearl dark gray. But in this
case they appear to be metallic silver at least in this light. I think metallic
silver parts are based on light bluish gray part which get coated by a metallic

Thanks!
I was little confused because they didn’t appear that shiny as i think metallic
would be.
But they are both more shiny than regular grey pieces.

both appear in metallic silver and next up would pearl dark gray. But in this
case they appear to be metallic silver at least in this light. I think metallic
silver parts are based on light bluish gray part which get coated by a metallic
color after molding.

Thanks!
I was little confused because they didn’t appear that shiny as i think metallic
would be.
But they are both more shiny than regular grey pieces.

It's theft and you have proof (I assume) of the transfer, the order details
of what you ordered and the trackable delivery of what you got. That should be
enough to at least initiate a local cop making an inquiry and hopefully frighten
the life out of this scum bag seller.

Idk if I can or not , never tried something like that , but I wont lie , it's
been over a month since it all happened and unless bricklink or IC3 gets back
to me on ot , I'm gonna live and let live on the whole situation. I just
wish that it wasnt money in the wind cause I would have rather bought a inflated
priced UCS set for what I spent on this empty minfig package

You ask people to make an effort to advice you, but the basic action of reporting
it to the police, you won't do. That's alright but it means it's
not much of an issue to you. Next time, it's better for everyone involved
to think about whether something really is an issue before asking for
help.
Besides, reporting it to the police might help preventing this from happening
to other people in the future. Not a big chance perhaps, but it can. Over here,
domestic cases of this take 6 reports before the police starts investigating.
So at least in that situation every report helps building a case.

One good thing that did happen after he brought it up on the group was the suspension
of said Bricklink store. It wasn't suspended before but it is now

That's you're decision but I honestly think that five minutes spent googling
his local police station and emailing them the details would be time better spent
than comments here, you might get some action, you might not, but you tried.

Best of luck one way or the other.

What is the seller's Store name? Then we can help guide you better.

It was AnimalBricksUK

Then again, if you have the tracking info, you should also have the weight and
shipping type of the shipment displayed in there - at least if it works the way
I am familiar with. So you'd know immediately it's not right. That is,
if you look closely. And also you have evidence of fraud on paper.

So I do think it's strange they sent that. Maybe the buyer just misclicked
and accidentally ordered an empty LEGO Movie 2 minifig series package

The buyer leaving positive feedback for this great seller before receiving anything
adds to the mix. Not only did they leave it, they left it first, a week before
the seller. A very strange transaction.

I was not aware you never had a positive interaction with me. That kinda saddens
me, as I never post on the forum to nitpick on anyone - I honestly only post
when I feel I can contribute to something.

I don't ignore people for having views that might differ from mine, or even
people that rub me the wrong way. My ignore list solely consists of people that
make many sales posts, as it makes it hard to read the forum the way I do (which

If I have offended you, or you feel nitpicked on, my apologies. I will try to be mindful of that.

Okay, not that funny. And I do apologize, with almost as much contrition as you

He's not "nitpicking" just stating his viewpoint, which can be perceived

You haven't accidentally checked buyer/collector mode under the view menu

This will remove the upload options from the first menu.

Wow, sorry to hear that. That is really evil.

"evil" really? Do you now the meaning of the word? I'd suggest putting fraud
into context

No, I think this is evil. People may be selfish with fraudulent practices, but
to actually go and prepare an envelope for someone with rubbish, knowing that
they will open it and what they will feel when they do, it takes a pathological
lack of empathy to be able to make that effort. I'm glad I haven't met
people like that. It would've been better if they had sent nothing at all.

I wonder why they even sent something at all? Just to mock you?

I actually do envy the sheltered life some live.

Amongst other things I've worked in Russia. Don't confuse a sheltered
life with stupidity.

  Why a phantom shipment, really?

Yes, really. I don't see the benefit. If anything, it's to the seller's
disadvantage, as the shipment weight clearly deviates from that of the product
that was bought. It's handing the buyer documented proof of fraud. It doesn't
even delay detection because this proof is created the moment the seller ships
the "order".

Agreed. Theft like this, esp from a seller in a developed country, is clearly
sociopathic.

That said, my understanding from ebay scams, is the dummy package serves as a
way to stall or even claim. This was very common years back with scammers buying
or selling cell phones.

As the buyer will have tracking. Or to get away with the scam entirely....However
for paypal you would need to sent something the same weight and size to win.

This looks like a stall tactic imo.

How was the item listed?

I've got a few of these and it's pretty annoying that the inner boxes
no longer have a seal. I know they are untouched but I can't realistically
sell them as cases anymore which is a shame.

The outer box is tight on the inner, so shouldn't really be used as a shipping
box unless otherwise stated "ships in factory brown box". I shipped one out today
and the factory outer box fits pretty nicely into the box for 100 small MailLite
envelopes.

There's a "Download" link at the bottom of the "My inventory" page. You can
choose a format, and Brickstock is able to read them too (the xml at least, haven't
tried the rest).

How do you think collectable minifigures should be shipped?

This weekend I received 5 boxes of collectable Minifigures from Disney 2 in their
brown boxes. Because there is no more seal on the inner box, the condition of
the brown box has become important. That is now the seal and it ensures that
the inner box is not damaged.

The 5 box boxes were stuck together with tape and a label was stuck on it, without
a larger outer box being used to ship this precious order.

What! It never ceases to astound me how people see a minimal effort towards packaging
as optional, especially for higher value shipments

As a result, the boxes also did not have the extra protection. Dents and damage occurred during shipment. When I was delivered I was not at home and the package was delivered to an unknown
person. So I could not refuse the package. The seller is not taking me seriously
and is only working against arguments. the value would not decrease. I could
sell the bags separately. But I want to keep them sealed in perfect condition
as an investment. How should not decide for me.

I can send everything back but that costs me another 30, - euro.
I would like to see the shipping costs returned. Is this so crazy? And how do
you think precious boxes should be sent over Minifigures?

So far unacceptable, BUT! To offer meaningful advise on how I'd proceed,
Saskia, I'd need to know the purchase details. Foremost detail being; what
kind of a deal did you get?

What is the seller's Store name? Then we can help guide you better.

It was AnimalBricksUK

My bank wouldnt help me , I told them it was fraud and they said they couldnt
do anything

I know it's shutting the barn door after the cows get out but I always use
Paypal Goods and Services. Much safer and both sides protected.

Yeah I know it would've been alot better of a transaction, I wish bricklink
would've atleast given me a response to my email

The seller is suspended, at least for now. I doubt they are legally allowed to
give further information about the seller and why they are suspended but they
could acknowledge that they have received your complaint.

Yeah I hate the positive feedback on it , but I put it before it got there because
the seller was very communicative and nice when dealing with the transaction.
Felt like it was gonna be fun up until the very end sadly.

And I did file a report with IC3 for this being a scam but haven't gotten a response on that in e weeks either.

…and you won’t. The bureau simply gathers, reviews and analyze, to then disseminate
pertinent information to other law enforcement or regulatory agencies, for criminal,
administrative or civil action, if deemed appropriate.

It’s a sort of clearinghouse the FBI use (for now) to address the burgeoning
field of Internet policing.

You should have received a standardized email after filing with your case number,
print/save a copy.

If you’re contacted further, it will be by the agency or regulatory body the
case is forwarded to. Emphasis on if

I'll add further opinion...

As a the banking system is involved internationally, your case should move forward.

Yeah I hate the positive feedback on it , but I put it before it got there because
the seller was very communicative and nice when dealing with the transaction.
Felt like it was gonna be fun up until the very end sadly. And I did file a report
with IC3 for this being a scam but haven't gotten a response on that in e
weeks either

Why did you gave him a positive feedback when it looks like you are scammed for
hundreds of $’s!

I hope you can fix it, this is a real shame.

It’s already difficult when both seller and buyer are in the same country

When I look at the feedback of the seller he looks to be fine, what changed him
from being a good seller into a possible scam?

Buying and selling priviledges removed.

As a result, the boxes
also did not have the extra protection.

Best Regards Saskia

What is the seller's Store name? Then we can help guide you better.

It was AnimalBricksUK

My bank wouldnt help me , I told them it was fraud and they said they couldnt
do anything

I know it's shutting the barn door after the cows get out but I always use
Paypal Goods and Services. Much safer and both sides protected.

Yeah I know it would've been alot better of a transaction, I wish bricklink
would've atleast given me a response to my email

Check your email spam folder for an email from @bricklink.com.
The Helpdesk is understaffed and has a backlog. It may take weeks.

He does have 24 cancellations for one reason or another and whether or not Bricklink
is looking into it i don't know. Will your bank work with you to recover
the money? I don't know if it works with bank transfers the same as credit
cards but . . .

Does Bricklink keep the cancelled orders and do you still have a copy of it somehow
on your Bricklink account?

Other more in the know people will probably chime in tonight or tomorrow with
info or thoughts.

Yes. It’s actually easier (quicker) to change than your user ID or ID pic.

You might make a small want list with 4 or 5 of the figures in that theme and
try it that way. It won't be perfect but it will show you stores with at
least a few of the figs from that theme in it.

I’m kinda surprised to see such a feedback left for you and your son, James.
I know what a fantastic store you guys operate. One of the better ones, with
your top notch service and care. I hope the other member will reconsider. Until
then, and in addressing your question:

- Go to your Profile in Feedback Forum by clicking-on your feedback number

- At the bottom of the page you’ll see “If you are McBricks, you may Reply to
comments” the word “Reply” is the link you need. Exampled in screenshot below…

Thank you for the complement. The name is the name from years ago and I did not
change it once Son grew up and went on. This is a great store. This was an overseas
deal where the buyer knew what the shipping cost were up front and wanted some
goofy shipping packing instructions because of her customs issues she was having
so once she received the order started complaining. I asked what I could do to
help but this buyer there was no helping her. No matter what I could do it was
not going to matter.

Between the buyer's "complaining" and your process of offering to help, did
you ever glean what the "customs issues" were exactly?

So, She waited until 11:59 on the 180th day to cowardly
leave her feedback and plot her revenge.

Some have Pat Pend inside, some have only a number. I put them under my USB microscope
and they do not look too nice. I just get rid of them. I prefer happy customers
than a few cents. The trans parts are definitely made from harder material, I
never had any issues with those unless they were broken, but then they go to
scrap...

Thanks,
Tamas

  Hello Tamas,

Are they older bricks with Pat Pend logo inside? Or, when the inside is too small
are they from older sets?

I have some beautiful 2x4 bricks from the Pat Pend period, they look unused but
they also do not clutch together.
In time these older parts lose grip somehow.

Trans parts are made from a harder, in any case, different material. So they
might hold grip longer.

are locking on each other. Is this normal, or I should abandon all these bricks?
They are all originals I triple-checked. Some are like brand new condition. I
checked multiple stores selling many of these, and none mention this problem
with them.

Thanks for any hint.

Not been made in yellow since the 1960's.

Are you talking about trans yellow which isn't listed in 10715 either, a
little confused as to the items you quote, sorry.

I have just parted out set 10715 for my store and I can definitely confirm it
has parts #3065 (according to BrickLink) in cright green, dark pink and yellow,
all connecting.

I have the 3065. They came from an older collection, so I assume they are older
pieces.

Many thanks for the help.

I have come across some 3004 that don't fit together, usually earlier ones
but not always.
