Hi,

With the exception of one message (October 13) without the standard subject "Regarding
BrickLink Order #_______", all of my Inbox and Outbox non-Order# messages over
the last few months have been removed.

I did not delete these messages, and as a matter of routine do not delete any
BrickLink messages, since they're eventually cleared out after six months
or so. Recent messages are important, because they provide a record of shipping
quotes and other communications with potential buyers.

Please restore them, Matthew

Hi Admins,

Please consider-

We have set up multiple shipping methods to handle different shipping box sizes
and weights, all these have been "grouped" as one as they all refer to one shipping
option for the buyer that being UK domestic 1st class. The system is designed
to offer only the lowest priced option within the group to the buyer and so far
this seems to work well

However it makes the shipping terms look very messy with rows of options looking
exactly the same of which only one will be offered to the buyer at checkout (see
our shipping terms as an example). Would it be possible to "hide" all these options
and just show a summary description of the shipping method by "group" in the
displayed shipping methods?

Thanks,

Robert

  Hello Everyone,

In June of last year, we introduced a new Wanted List upgrade. This upgrade came
with a newly-designed buying experience which focused on the necessity to compare
and plan out multiple carts at once, as well as make it easier to manage multiple
lists.

Since BrickLink's Wanted List is a core feature for most users, we currently
provide the classic version for members to use as a backup in case there are
glitches with the new version. This is intended to be a temporary solution.

The classic version of the Wanted List feature will become unavailable on
June 5, 2017.
At this point, we have ensured that the new version of the
Wanted List covers all desired functionality (plus more) from the classic version.
If you have any issues with the new version, please let us know as soon as possible.

Thank you for the continued support, bug reports, and helpful feedback as we
continue to roll out important changes.

Sincerely,

Jaclyn

It would be nice to see a topic choice added to the forum for Instant Checkout.

I'm not sure where best to post re: Instant Checkout. Shipping? Selling?
Help?

unfortunately... the "Seller Protection" - "Show only Instant Checkout methods
to new buyers" in the management store tab. I found out the hard way this does
not exclude the old buyers from using instant check out.

I chose to go through with the instant check out, because of this misleading
feature.

I need this feature to only handle new buyers(100 days of activity, or 5 positive
feedback from different legitimate sellers). Pulling the orders, and invoicing
before payment is still much needed with old buyers.

However, I need to know that new buyers have a Active/Verified/Completely filled
out PayPal Account. That's why they pay up front.

Everything else is great as always. Shipping feature for flat rate without Instant
works flawlessly. They now have that basic math done for them hehe

Good Job!
Thanks!

I too would like to use Instant checkout for "New" users only, for the time being.
Has this been addressed, or fixed?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I have never noticed an option for two-factor authentication
on BrickLink and I think that in this day and age most websites and services
should include it.

So...

I propose the addition of two factor authentication (via SMS code).

I do remember how to do that sort of thing, sorting by "-sticker -stickers",
sorting by "-female" when I want a male head or torso, etc. I'd still
like to see stickers split off from decorated in all categories because it'd
save me repeating the same step over and over and over and over and over again.

This way I can quickly add a size to my parts so that instant checkout will work
for those parts.

I just got home and went to start measuring pieces that I have that have no size.
I had an order today and all but 2 of the lots had measurements, so I went to
start with those. But I can only see how to enter it in stud units. The rest
of the pieces in my order are by mm. And I see that one of the pieces that DOES
have the mm measurements on my order, does NOT have a size listed on its item
page. So....do we even have access to enter the measurement that is used for
shipping estimates?

We do not have that capability yet. The only dimensions users can add are the
custom dimensions in their store. See boxes DimX, DimY, and DimZ in image below.

Would you add dimensions of DUPLO figures the same way?

It would be a lot of redundant work if each seller who has DUPLO figures listed
needs to add dimensions of every single figure in their inventory.

Hanne

I see your point with the redundancy issue. However, there are many creative
ways to set up your shipping methods that don't depend heavily on dimensions
being entered into the system. I would encourage you to spend more time on that
end of things instead of entering thousands of dimensions which will get added
to the system later anyway.

Maybe you could add dimensions for a few of the figs and then compare the sales
results with the others, which I believe are "weight bound" by default. I'd
be interested to hear what happens.

This will reduce the number of parts to 1,252 and all of them should be printed.

Hello
I would like to suggest a category split:

I like to purchase printed tiles, but I am not interested in parts that have
stickers already applied. Currently, the category for "Tiles - Printed" has
a great number of parts which are not printed but actually a sticker.

My suggestion is to create two categories: "Tiles - Printed" which is reserved
only for true printed parts, and "Tiles - with Sticker" for the others.

thank you for your consideration,

-allan-

Please consider creating 3 options for wanted list viewing among users.

Private:
Default option. No one else can see your any of your lists.

Limited:
Much like reserving items where you enter a user name. This would allow one
person of your choosing to view a specific list.

Public:
One or all of your lists can be seen by everyone.

I recognize that this isn't the most important upgrade that is needed, however,
a feature such as this has been wanted by many for a long time.

Some valid points.

Would you allow me to "suggest" something?

Add a "suggestion" for the solution, in your post that's in the "suggestion"
topic, where you're asking other members for a yes or no vote. Just a
short expression of what you'd like to see implemented, is enough.

There's something else I've always wondered about, and maybe you (given
your username) can answer definitively for me: Are the inmates really running
the asylum?

-Cory

Added a TL : DR to the end of the OP to simplify and clarify, and as for whether
the inmates are in control I have no idea, I am just sat in a corner building
lego trying not to drool on myself too much

If we could get this as a requirement it would make life much easier especially
when using tools like goatleg.

If the description doesn't include all this information then Goatleg doesn't
always find it and that makes identifying some of these parts much harder than
it needs to be.

I agree, for example Fred doesn't provide much information.

Why couldn't you add an 'a' element wrapper around the 'img'
element inside the 'button' element to bring in the functionality of
the 'a' element?

Part 1.
You would have either an A element or a BUTTON element.
You can wrap an A around an IMG.
You can set the BUTTON type to be an image.
You can't put an A within a BUTTON.
If you could, would a click activate the A or the BUTTON?

Part 2.
The programmer needs the "tap" to raise the floater menu on tablets and phones
because there's no "hover" state. No cursor to register coordinates.
If you tapped or clicked a straight html BUTTON or A, you'd go to the target,
not raise a floater.

  Thank you for the info.

Something weird about the below subject. The rollover icons themselves can be
clicked on like a regular link in addition to the rolled over options.

Right. Understand there's a script involved. The script can contain a lot
of different things and behave at the whim of the programmer. Rolling over does
A. Mouse down does B. Mouse up does C. And so on. Users don't tend to think
about how the mouse behaves...it's "point and click". It's actually moving
on x-y axis...which allows for rollover detection, mouse button down...at which
point it can be held down AND moved, and mouse button up. So there's at least
four things right there, and separate functions with the page can be attached
to each movement with the mouse.

And any mouse action on a script could conceivably also call a second script
where the mouse actions behave differently.

If you have a tablet or smartphone, play with those upper nav elements. You'll
notice:
1. a tap brings up the float menu.
2. a second tap dismisses the float menu.
3. as there is no cursor, there can be no "hover" state, so rollovers don't
exist.
4. in no instance will a tap take you to a different page.
