I’ve been going through unused parts that I’ve had boxed up for a while, and
I’m really stumped on figuring out what color these 1x1 plates are. In person,
they look light mint green, much like the “Light Green” I found on BL. It appears
that color plate did not come in any sets, and I can’t recall purchasing these.
I lived in Scotland for several years, and shopped at a few LEGO stores abroad,
so I may have picked them up there. I can’t seem to take a photo that captures
exactly what the color looks like in person (it truly looks light mint IRL),
but this is as close as I got.

Thank you all for suggesting I take comparison photos without making me feel
like a total idiot for not doing that in the first place.

Ok, I took several photos of green tiles next to each other (before reading the
excellent advice about not using all green in the pics), and all the colors looked
off. BUT, I accidentally stumbled upon a part that appears to match my mystery
tiles. I may have dismissed some suggested colors prematurely bc now that I’m
seeing it on a much larger part, I think there’s more yellow than I had thought.
If I could only read the part number on this thing I could put this to rest.

i'm going to ask the stupid question..

-- are they official Lego stamped 1x1 plates?
obviously they should have the Lego logo on the top of the button & stamped inside
with the logo & ID #.

hard to see in the pic. .but can't make out the Lego logo on the top of the
button.

White Balance is the setting you are looking for.

I would vote for Yellowish Green.

Have a look at this

Top left plate is Light Green.
1x1 round plate is Yellowish Green.
The plate below the round plate is Medium Green.
The 1x2 modified plate is Light Lime.
The clip is Medium Lime.

This is really helpful! Not sure how you got such a great, accurate photo of
those shades, but you’re my photography hero! Thank you!

To complet what the others said: add other colours in your picture.  Greens would
be good for comparison but add other colours as well so that your camera/phone
can better adjust (if everything is green, it may tend to “remove” green).

That would explain a lot! I’ve been taking pics of green tiles for the past ten
minutes, and none of the greens look accurate in the photos!

Could you post a photo of these plates next to your 49668 Yellowish Green plates?

Yellowish Green maybe?

It does look a little like that in the photo, but it doesn’t have that yellow
hue when you see it in person. I’ve compared it to all my other green parts,
and it’s not a match to anything

I am writing an app to help manage and pick Bricklink orders. I am looking for
testers to provide feedback. Currently it is for Android only, I will be working
on an apple version in the future. If you are interested join the Facebook group,
I may not accept all who are interested.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/bricksellercompanion/

I may not accept all who are interested. I will send testers a promo-code so
they can use for free. I am hopping to release in the next few weeks.

My app and the user will be required to comply with Bricklink's API terms
of use.
I am required to state in my app: "The term 'BrickLink' is a trademark
of the LEGO Group BrickLink. This application uses the BrickLink API but is not
endorsed or certified by LEGO BrickLink, Inc"

gotten around to doing longer stretches of the 4,265 kilometers PCT, yet. Though
still planning to take a few months soon (my daughter and I) to do the California

This time we just dripped in from Bridge of the Gods on the Columbia River, trekking

Box and extra pieces are not required to list a used set as complete.

The pieces of the set are though and they say it may be missing pieces. It appears
this seller does not check parts compared to the inventories as nearly all their
sets have the description "May be missing one or 2 pieces about 99% complete"
or similar. These should not be listed as complete if they have not been checked.

hard call with the figures, lightsaber handles & variety of smalls..

Have a bulk lot of all new parts - mostly extras from various purchased sets.
Some were part outs from small sets. Honest opinion for pricing is appreciated.
The one picture shows everything bagged and semi sorted. The other two pictures
are just close ups of the lot. Planning on re opening my store for a short time
to sell off some Lego I no longer want. Thank you.

- Get your postage rates by setting up a dummy shipment in pirateship.
- Add it to the shipping field on the main orders page.
- Submit changes.
- Click the "invoice" icon (if you have your page set up to show that
icon).
- Follow instructions - AND VERIFY THAT SHIPPING IS ON THE INVOICE
- Wait for buyer to pay and/or flip out over the shipping costs.

+1

Don't forget to turn the invoice upside down before sending it.

If I have bought a large order, I ask the order to be packed by color because
the verification is much easier.

However, I do sell complete sets on eBay. If a set is under 500 pieces, then
all the pieces go into 1 large bag, the glass and printed / stickered are bagged
together, and the minifigures are bagged together. The 2 smaller bags go into
the large bag. I then bubble wrap the bag and put it into a shipping box.

For sets that contain over 500 pieces, I bag each color separately again bagging
the glass, printed / stickered, and minifigures separately and place all those
bags into a mother bag, bubble wrap and pack into a shipping box.

In 19 years of doing it this way I have never received negative feedback.

I have bought sets on Bricklink as well and I find that by color is the most
efficient way to verify the contents. A couple times the sets were bagged by
number and much harder to verify as I had to sort the colors out first.

order sets so I don't have that perspective of receiving one but I think
if I did I would still go to the inventory and check that I have all the parts
before I would attempt to build - and most inventories are sorted by color. An
experienced builder will have their own methods of sorting pieces for building
so I don't worry about the order in which they will need pieces during the
build.

The list is sorted by color by default but doesn't have to be. But in any
case what you've done is fine, assuming someone wants to build the set.

I go through the instructions backwards and put the parts in numbered bags, sometimes
I will combine two bags. I have also, occasionally, sorted them by color to
help with verification on Bricklink.

I don't think it really matters, but I am interested in what buyers say in
this thread.

To become a seller here on Bricklink you will first need to make a purchase to
get 1 feedback. Once you have the 1 feedback, then you can apply to open a store.
The application period takes about 3 weeks on average depending on how many other
apps are in front of yours.

It’s much faster now

Do some research on the individual minifigs and also on the sets you own here
and on other marketplaces. That will give you an idea of how much each set and
/ or minifigure is worth. It will also give you a better understanding of the
different marketplaces available to sell on and how they work and what your best
options are.

Best of luck!

List what you have on a local marketplace higher than you think you'll get
and see what offers come in. If you need money fast, I don't think trying
to become a Bricklink seller is the right path for you.

The general rule is that you'll get far less when trying to sell a large
lot than if you sell individually. The obvious reasons being:
1) anyone interested in collecting marvel minifigures probably already has a
large number of them and doesn't want the duplicates.
2) anyone wanting to resell them is only going to pay you about 1/3 of what they're
"worth" if sold individually.

You can either cancel their payment and let them add another batch to the order
then pay again (costs you in PayPal fees). Or allow them to place another order
and manually invoice it with no extra for shipping (or more to cover the difference
if the price will have gone up).

Great, thank you!

I'm not sure if there is a way to get an Excel sheet made from an order,
but if you click on the images of each item on the invoice, it tells you what
the part # is. Not sure if you would want to do that though...

Thanks for the suggestion. I ended up going with PirateShip as I don't have
the volume and am still getting my bearings on being a seller. So appreciative
of the everyone's great advice. It is so nice to not have such high shipping
costs and pass it on to the buyers.

  Hello.

I'm unfortunately looking at selling my store due to downsizing, my current
value is around £5,200 listed.

However, I have 150KG of sorted lego, by sorted I mean I have spent almost a
year sorting it into colours and then from colours to the exact pieces together
to ensure easy listing, there is also about 3-500 min figures to list as well
now these are not just small mini figures these range from brand new Merry and
Pippin, 2 Ringwraiths, Darth Vaders etc just to name a few.

To conclude there is a lot of value in the store, and double if not more to be
listed.

If this perks your interest please send me a message or email me, share if you
can.

Many thanks.
Orbitstore.

Could anyone give me any advice or an idea of how I could sort this? as Need

Any advise is gladly welcomed. Thank you.

bricklink has the most accurate inventories for lego sets but some people have
good luck first going to rebrickable to find out what sets they have then come
back to bricklink to see what the inventory is. for listing you can use Brickstore
(the blue hat not the orange one) for listing inventory as it can be simpler
for listing single items but you may have a more straightforward process listing
things directly onto bricklink by going to the items page and then adding to
your inventory from there. all of these options are free

This is how I see your store prices, decimals only show on another currency with
exchange rate, not in NOKs.

Not possible (or very unlikely as there are 16.442 stores and none is experiencing
your problem).

Check your store currency versus your display currency. It sounds like some currency
conversion is going on between what you entered/see (NOK) and what is actually
stored (maybe USD?). If so, this is a setting on your side that you can correct.

Thank you all for the great advice! Will look into getting commercial rate shipping.

Apologies in advance to non-US sellers but just wanted to share my recent learning
as I am a new seller on BrickLink. When setting up my store, I was following
the general guidelines and how others were charging. When I recently went to
send a package that was 15.7 oz, I was informed that my only option to send that
package was via Priority Mail.

I don't know when USPS changed their pricing structure, but if you go to
USPS website, https://www.usps.com/ship/first-class-mail.htm, it distinctly says

"for large First-Class Mail envelopes and parcels, the maximum weight is
13 oz."

Just thought I'd share so you don't have a similar price shock where
you end up paying more for shipping than anticipated.

13 oz is the max at the retail counter. You can do up to (but not including)
16 oz if you buy commercial postage, e.g. through Pirate Ship - which you should,
you will save a significant amount of money. If need be you can get a cheap postal
scale so you can weigh your packages yourself, or even use a kitchen scale if
you already have one.

You could ask for a trade with a store owner that may have some of the sets you
want…
As long as one side pays BL fee, there should be no problem.
Or open your store to sell one set and close it again.

Good luck,

One does not put a Death Star in one's town. it goes a lot better suspended
menacingly over it, as if the world the town represents is about to end!

Quick advice: do not pester your buyers for Order Status or Feedback.

+1

The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to set the example by leaving feedback
for the buyer right away.

Don't do that. We're in a world where our phones and emails get blown
up by unsolicited spam so this could backfire.

I am still waiting on feedback from the
second buyer and I am wondering whether this is normal.

Exceptionally normal unfortunately. When you back out my feedback as a buyer,
I'm at 56% feedback for orders placed. Tried everything from leaving feedback
immediately, waiting until they leave feedback, to offering coupons and it keeps
hovering around 55-60%.

Most sellers have only about a 60 percent feedback received amount. It is normal.

It is good that you are watching your orders using tracking. That way you can
know at the very least that your orders have not gone missing. But there are
a lot of buyers who do not change the status or write feedback, and sometimes
it will come weeks or months later. My most prolific buyer has purchased about
15 times but only left FB for me 3 or 4 times, so I just stay happy that they
keep coming back to buy more Lego.

I know it kinda sucks when you are new and are watching your FB rating rise very
slowly, but, as already mentioned, asking for Feedback may not be a good idea.
You can use the Thank You, Drive Thru messaging AFTER tracking shows as the
order is delivered and that might encourage more buyers to write FB for you.
But, otherwise, you just have to move on and hope the FB will come at a later
time.

Yes this is normal. Leaving feedback is by no means required and they many never
leave it. Messaging them about it may result in feedback you don’t want as they
may see it as you harassing them.
Just go to your orders page
https://www.bricklink.com/orderReceived.asp
And you can see the status of all your orders in the last 6 months

You need to file an order cancel request first, then you can cancel the order.

https://www.bricklink.com/retract.asp

Did the buyer pay? You should be able to refund if so.

Thank you for the help. No, buyer did not pay and I failed to send an invoice.
I did look at the cancel tab and there was no acceptable way to cancel that
did not include the buyer. I cannot say the buyer wanted to cancel.

I confirm, as a seller you can cancel unilaterally.

Simply first start an OCR "request", then second, do confirm the request.

The buyer can't do anything.

I agree with what you said here about the differences in trying to sell individual
sets vs the "will not separate" listings. I mostly limit my marketplace
selling to bulk parts which I usually end up selling (likely to resellers) at
$5 per pound for about 100 pounds. I'm sure I could get more if I sold gallon
bags 1 at a time, but then I'd have to deal 50 times as many meetups and
probably more than that in no-shows. I sell about 600 pounds a year this way.
I've noticed there are a lot less "is this still available?" questions
and no-shows (0 in my experience) when you're selling in large quantities.

required verification of parts, no finding or buying missing parts, and no shipping
are the big time-savers. Weigh that against dealing with lowball offers and

Local sellers will post a single photo with all their sets in it and say "as
is at lowest Bricklink prices" or something to that effect with a list of
prices (this is obviously a required step for BL too) and they do disappear over
a few weeks. Listing all the sets on Bricklink would take several years to move
(even as the cheapest in country).

Yeah, I also sell a fair bit locally. Although I still check completeness of
a set (as I would here) if I call it a set. I reckon maybe 1 in 10 of the "is
this available" questions actually ends in a sale. I used to get loads of
lowball offers that never lead to sales, but for the past year or so I just block
anyone that offers less than 80% asking price and that stops those offers. Even
once a sale is agreed I reckon still only 1 in 3 actually turn up to collect.

I find bulk 1 kg bags of random parts sell better than sets on facebook.

When it works, it is very convenient.

However, I still think the OP needs to know who they want to market to and how
long they want to spend doing it - the collector if they don't mind selling
sets individually or the reseller if they want to do the lot in one go.

Individually, yes. But as a collection, no.

It really depends whether you are selling (single sets) to a collector or (bulk
collection of sets) to a reseller.

Selling large collections through facebook is probably even more work than bricklink
as you need to photograph everything, then deal with people not showing up to
collect even though they agreed to collect, although of course you do not need
to package it all.

I'm just doing a preliminary determination of what my collection may be worth,

I have to sort of disagree with other comments. Every time I check a local marketplace,
people have their built sets listed at "listed at the lowest price on bricklink"
or "average bricklink sold prices" (at least in my area in the US).
The listings seem to get updated fairly regularly with strikethroughs on the
sold sets. I don't know of course whether or not they're actually getting
what they're asking, but I assume it's more than 50%.

I expect you could get 75% of lowest Bricklink prices pretty easily if they're
a theme that's in demand and are retired sets.

City or friends might need to be listed at 50% of BL to move.

Some of y'all are out of your minds.

I least favourite stores doing fake sales. It often happens with CMFs too. If
a store has a 50% sale and they are still more expensive than other stores not
having a sale in the same country then they are other very expensive or a fraud.
Least favourite them and they disappear forever.

To sell in bulk, probably 25-33% of the six month average or half the lowest
current prices. That is assuming it will be bought by someone to sell on.

If you want higher prices, you'll need to sell to collectors rather than
sellers, and to do that you'll need to sell sets individually.

For pricing entire collections, in general, expect to receive about 15-20% of
the last six months sales average on BrickLink, maybe 50% if you are lucky.

For pricing individual sets, use BrickLink or BrickEconomy as guides. If you
are in a hurry to sell, you may want to price your sets towards the lower end
of what is currently available for sale.

My sets would be sold assembled with minifigures and instructions, but no boxes.

Used sets are generally sold disassembled. That being said, if you are selling
your entire collection at once, you may be able to find someone who is willing
to take them assembled.

Sets are clean and were stored out of the sun.

Are BrickEconomy's prices for used sets accurate? I could also sell everything

BrickLink is not a great place for moving inventory quickly. You may want to
try to sell it to someone local, maybe on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace.

I'm just doing a preliminary determination of what my collection may be worth,
but it mostly consists of about 100 assorted Star Wars and City sets from 2010

Hope that helps.

It's not that per se, it's that some of these sets still have at least
12-18 months until they're retired, but they're being listed at nearly
2x retail. If you can skip over the 40/400 (domestic/worldwide) other shops

yah its always funny to see ones like that but with all them for sale one
would think at least one somewhere sold in some point of history or they
may be doing what I've done for several items in that I price them at a price
I hope to sell them at in several years so that they sell once the market gets
to that point instead of remembering to list them at some point in the future

A sale is a discount based on your regular price.

(Which is why opening a shop with an opening sale is, AFAIK and depending
local laws, not allowed...)

Apart this, you can price $1000 a $50 item (AFAIK and depending local laws) and
still make a generous (lol) 25% OFF. Your shop, your price.

oooo, see, you've got your lawyer hat on.

I still quote something another BL seller used to say years ago (and probably

At least regarding parts and minifigs, some of the most successful BL shops are
those that maintain HIGH prices.

I believe that was Ed of Lucky Ed's Good Ol' Bricks. He's quite an
inspiration and completely correct in that regard! It was nerve-wracking over
the 1.5 years when I was listing and pricing before launch, but I listened to
him. And I'm so glad I did, because I've become one of those wildly successful
shops. I've found that an extremely diverse inventory, near-perfect accuracy,
consistently high-quality parts, speedy shipping, and flawless service are invaluable
to many buyers. The old axiom "you get what you pay for" may not always
be true... but it usually is.

I've thought a lot about it, and my opinion is that many 6-month average
prices are far below the actual value of the parts (especially for rare and semi-rare
parts) because the vast majority of sellers price using Brickstock or a quick
glance at the average prices rather than actually studying the supply-demand
dynamics. This creates a self-perpetuating cycle where prices only slowly increase
despite the parts being perennially hard to find, all caused by sellers pricing
too low for the levels of supply and demand (in other words, at or near average
prices). On certain parts, my store alone has had a distinct effect on the price
guide, occasionally increasing the average price by 5x or 10x for an individual
part, and yet the part keeps selling just as well for all sellers at the new
price level. In my opinion, this corroborates my reading of the Lego economics
at work here.

Of course, this strategy wouldn't work for all sellers, since it specifically
applies to used parts, not new parts that can easily be parted out and sold by
a layperson. And given that 75% to 85% of my used-part orders as a buyer on BL
have at least one error or damaged part, the level of service usually doesn't
justify higher prices.

Some of y'all are out of your minds.

It's always funny when people say huge sale...

Perhaps they are referring to something like this and not items in their store.

But they probably have more items then stores with lower prices so you get more
at one store with only one shipping charge. All a matter of if you take shipping
into consideration. It's gotten expensive enough to make me try to find
the best mix of what I need in one order than multiple orders at better prices
but more in shipping costs.

Shipping costs is what gets to me, too.

I spend a lot of time when placing orders trying to get every last piece I can
without pushing the shipping cost higher (at Instant Checkout stores) or keeping
the weight in cart just right (at Manual Invoice stores) so that I don't
order so much that shipping will be more expensive than I am happy with.

It has left me with this: too many full carts where I am unwilling to submit
the order.

the illusion of a discount - there are stores with "X% OFF" baked into
their store names lol

Well, mathematically, someone has got to sell at higher prices so that the average
can exist.

I still quote something another BL seller used to say years ago (and probably
still does):

"There is nothing wrong with my prices. Everybody else is just setting their
prices too low."

At least regarding parts and minifigs, some of the most successful BL shops are
those that maintain HIGH prices.

+1 the 6 month sales average is just that an average not a law. many sellers
sell lots much above that and customers are fine with it so the store isn't
trying to pull a fast one by then discounting it some
