| Hi All
Just had a buyer contact me this morning after not receiving a £9 minifigure
order that was placed on April 5th. The postage option chosen by the buyer was
a standard 1st class large letter, Postage was paid for and label printed using
the Click and collect Royal Mail service and posted that same evening.
I have sent other parcels since then and have had those orders completed by those
buyers so I know the postbox I used has been visited by the Royal Mail.
I’ve asked the buyer to wait another week and see if anything arrives and in
the meantime I will do some research into what the next steps are.
What is the correct course of action as a seller ? Do I need to refund the buyer
even though they picked a non signed for option for post ? I have no reason to
believe the buyer is not telling the truth but also I’m going to be out £11 if
I have to refund even though I processed the order and paid the postage and sent
it ?
Don’t want to get negative feedback from the buyer if I argue the refund.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice

Some ways to think about it.
1. Getting a signed for postage option is there to help the seller more than
the buyer. The issue of what postage the buyer selected is basically irrelevant.
2. Yes, if you refund you will be out 11 pounds. But if the buyer does not receive
their order, and you don't refund, they will be out 11 pounds. So how is
that fair?
3. It hasn't been very long since you shipped the order, so it is correct
ask the buyer to give the order another week or so to show up. I find if I stay
in contact with a buyer, they are able to be patient in waiting a little longer.
In the meanwhile, double check that the shipping address was correct.
4. You have no reason to suspect that the buyer is not telling the truth. So
you have no reason to refuse a refund, if the package is lost. Yes, it hurts,
but it is the right thing to do. Fortunately lost orders are very rare, and when
they do happen, you can consider it a cost of doing business.

Awesome! Never even occurred to me to read LEGO's description of the set.
Thanks!

I’d have to go with “thingamajig” or “thingummy”

Maybe doohickey

Maybe call it an ARC reactor? I'd have to rewatch the first Ironman movie
to be sure, but I seem to remember that both Tony's and Obadiah's power
sources were ARC reactors.

I believe the proper technical term is “nukular thingamajig”

but it will cost 6 bucks in shipping to order from someone else. I assume as
get further into custom builds you just naturally build up spare bricks.

Yes, you will naturally build up spares. It is annoying when you need just a
few cheap parts, so overbuying parts you are likely to need in future is a good
idea.

If you buy a $0.01 part from
https://store.bricklink.com/DansBrickShop#/shop
Shipping should be $5
Then you only have to pay for $5.01
Then you get a feedback and a part that you could resell in your future shop

It’s not a question of being nice or not: there’s no other way to get feedback
than through a transaction. So, for beginners, to buy.
And you don’t need to buy much. There’s a lot of parts at 1 cent or less.

Most of the orders shipped but one was talking a while and when it shipped they
refunded me for 2 pieces they didn’t have. All fine so far.
But it’s really hard to just order two pieces due to minimum order requirements
and overpaying for shipping.
Is there a way to tell the sellers not to complete the order if you can’t complete
the whole order?
Also the seller is highly rated
Any advice or past experiences would help. Thanks!!

It shouldn't happen but it does.
Something else you can do, especially if the parts are cheap, is double up by
ordering the same parts from other sellers if you are already buying parts from
them. It helps avoid missing lot problems and gives you spares if some (used)
parts are not up to quality or if you drop any.
And if you are not in a hurry, space the orders a day or two apart. If one seller
has an issue, there are still others on your list that could provide parts to
make up for other sellers errors.

That's what I figured but I assume large sellers just push it anyways.
