Yesterday I got a message from a new user (0 feedback and account created that
same day) saying that they had tried to place an order in my store and the system
stopped it because I do not have a part anymore, but the payment went through.
The subject line of the message was the Paypal transaction number.

I thought this was a confusing message so I first checked my email and BrickLink
orders page and had not received any order in several hours (about 5 hours at
the time), I then checked Brickowl and I did not have any order there at all
that day. Next I checked Paypal and searched for the transaction number that
was in the subject of the message and a transaction did show up from that day
(Feb 2).

I messaged the seller saying I never had something like that happen before and
asked what they were trying to buy, if they could see the order on their side,
if they had it in their cart for a while, etc. I have not heard back from them.

Since then I have received a separate order from this same buyer that is all
minifigures (their message to me earlier was about some pieces). I have double
checked Paypal and do in fact have two separate transactions from them yesterday.

So my question is, has this ever happened to anyone else? It seems there was
a transaction but no order. I don't know if they have the order on their
end or if it's just missing from mine. I have no idea what parts they were,
so I am not sure if they were removed from my store or not. I also really don't
want a buyer expecting an order to arrive and I have no idea what I am supposed
to send.

I put a ticket in with BrickLink but haven't heard back yet. I'm holding
off sending their 2nd order for now, but if I don't hear back soon will probably
refund that 1st transaction and send the order associated with the 2nd transaction.

Thanks,
Pete

Have you checked here?

The transaction in Paypal says "order" or "paid"? Did you check
you total balance amount increased?

Bingo! In over 10 years on BrickLink I have never seen this before.

This is new since Instant Checkout was released.

Looks like the order pops up in a small window when I click on the progress link.
It doesn't look like a normal order page and at the top says "Orders
in Progress Your items will be reserved for up to 30 minutes until payment is
cleared." I received this message from the buyer (and presumably this "order"

Now less common, but this happens when the buyer experiences a problem when finalising
the payment, maybe he clossed the paypal page to early, so the order was started
in BL but it was not finished in PayPal, so it stays there until PayPal confirms
payment or it times out and returns the items to your stock, that is why I suggested
checking you paypal money balence, as they might show an activity but the payment
maybe is not done. In the past some of us got orders stuck for even 2 or 3 days,
but most times in a few hours or after daily maintenance is cleared. If it clears
and you don't get an order check your inventory for all the lots.

When I go to Paypal both transactions from this buyer say "Payment received"
and both look exactly the same other than the transaction #. Any idea when/how
that translates into an actual order? and why did this happen?

Thanks,
Pete

Thanks for the help. I got a message back from the help desk and it seems they
haven't even seen this before and are looking into it further. But it sounds
like I might need to wait a little longer and hope it clears or times out.

Thank you very much, Phil

I want the same. Removing 5000+ parts, piece by piece is to much work...

You should be able to delete (your My | Your?) Collection by uploading an empty
file (as XML; a really empty file).

I think the part is called "Bar with Light Cover". Not sure what is the
color, here are the IDs for the respective colors:
Light Bluish Gray - 6212288
Dark Bluish Gray - 6344216

Hope this helps!

On the order page you should be able to click report problem on the top right
and do it there

You send the quote just like a regular invoice but from the quote screen. Quotes
are non binding so you can’t send them as an invoice. If the buyer accepts it
it will auto invoice the buyer with the same info as the quote and then they
can pay

Canadian friends,

I have a customer who is trying to place an order for minifigures in my store.
Could you possibly test and see if there are any issues?

Thanks!

So far I haven’t found any of the black ones. I’ll keep an eye out. I have
sorted the tubs yet, just raked through.

a 19 or 8 or other number in the corner.

I'm a bit surprised you didn't find any of these in black as well. Very
common from that era

Thank you so much! It doesn’t look like there are any wheels in the mix unfortunately
but I may luck out and find one or two buried in there. Like I said, I have
2 large tubs to go through. Mostly 2x’s, plates and ~20 of the larger baseplates.
There are lots of nice windows of different shapes and styles, fence pieces
and plenty of the white wheel bricks. A few printed bricks with the Lego logo
that stood out. Looks like I have some sorting to do!

shows the underside. There is also red, white and blue base plates in the background.
The white shows the underside. I have many of them and they are either 10x20
or 10x10. Thank you for your help!

You found a Samsonite lot.
The holey bricks are to attach wheels to your LEGO build

Hi There,

This is the first time that I am posting. I was looking for a couple of parts
for the Trafalgar Square (21045) on the inventory page. The parts are easily
identifiable from the inventory and a many number of sellers available across
the world. I am based in the UK and so think that it will be easier to buy UK
to Uk.

Why is it that some suppliers (I have noticed it seems to be German) have
stocks of 2000 plus when Uk/US and other suppliers have 1 or 2 of the same item.

Just curious.

Hello, I have a few orders that have been sitting in limbo for about 10 to 12
days now due to the buyer no paying for their order and I have sent an invoice
twice. I am courious if other sellers have had this issue and if so how much
time you waited before putting in a cancel order due to non-payment. I am trying
to be fair as I know emergencies happen and life does go haywaire sometimes.

Thanks
Steve

No need to wait 10-12 days. Fairness is a wonderful virtue, but in my experience
anyone who does not pay or contact you within 3-5 days is never going to pay.
Here is what I do:

1. After four days no payment, send a polite reminder. Wait for one day for response.
2. If no response, initiate NPB by day seven.
3. If no response, or payment, complete NPB. Leave negative feedback to warn
other sellers.
4. If the buyer responds to the NPB with payment, then I complete the order,
and leave positive feedback.

About cancellation. My process is to agree to cancel an order if the buyer requests
it prior to the NPB. After the NPB process is initiated, I won't agree to
cancel. When I agree to cancel an order, I tell the buyer that I will be leaving
no feedback, either negative or positive, and I ask them to do the same, since
in a way, no transaction has actually taken place.

What do you do if the buyer indicates to you circumstances beyond their control,
for instance: injury, illness, or family matter, and wishes to cancel after you
filed the NPB? This is assuming they are forthcoming with relevant information
and are willing to back it up if necessary.

Sometimes life gives people circumstances that take up all of their spare time,
and they miss your NPB or assume they can come back later to sort the matter
out. If they have serious problems they had to deal with and told me of them,
I for sure would just retract the NPB and move on with cancellation of the order.
But that's my take on such matters. What's yours?

Cheers ...
