Thanks for all your answers, very confusing though (the checkout system, not
your answers)

  Hi everyone,

I'd like to buy from a Russian store, but the checkout page seems weird (see
image).

EUR 33.66 for items, EUR 8.12 for VAT ... but why is it EUR 51.54 + shipping
at the end?

Thanks!

Together with import duties and all, it might become quite expensive. I would
suggest asking a quote first before ordering.

Estimated S&H fees (which for some reason don't show under S&H or on their
own separate row).

That’s the shipping & handling & other fees (set by the seller) that’re already
determined even if it says TBD.
It’s sometimes wrongly determined though….

Help. What is cost for 2000pln sets package from Singapur tracked?
Delivery is outside UE i need to pay more to seller or my deliver newer came
to me otherwhise? Help plz. Im scared to buy outside Europe Union

You can contact the seller for a quote or use the Request Quote button if enabled.

I do, i want to hear somone from UE.. sellers always told all will be ok then
u dont see ur delivery 3 ml months, dont respond if u cant help.

It depends on the courier.
UPS, DhL, Fedex,... are fast but expensive.
I believe the national courier of Singapore should be the cheapest.
During Covid, sometimes the shipments move slowly. This depends on many factors
that nobody knows.

If you pay via PayPal, your money is secured. So if you don't receive your
package after 2-3 months, you can request your money back. With PayPal, you have
180 days after you paid, to open a claim and get a full refund.

So far, only one of my international packages are lost (from Ebay). It was a
package from Switzerlands. After 4 months, the tracking did not change and it
never reached Canada so I contacted the seller and requested him to submit a
lost claim with Postal service of Switzerlands. He did so and they reported the
packge lost. At this point, I requested him a refund and the seller refunded
me. In any case, he did not have any option. I could also open a claim after
2 months and request my money back, but this was not correct as the some packages
are shipped on surface (ship) and move slowly so I was patient.

Note that any order from outside Europe is subject to import fees. This is I
think in general between 20-27%, depending on the country.

For example if the import fees of your country is 25% then:

  Value of order: 2000pln
Shipping costs: 500oln
Custom fees: 25% * (2000+500) = 625 pln + handling fees charged by postal service
of your country

Thanks for very good answer, so when i buy from seller outside EU , i need to
pay tax sure but its included in the shipping? Or i just pay to seller 2000pln
+ shiping via paypal and then whats happen? My package hit border of my county
and how i know i need to pay tax, its my first time... I will ask for best curier
metod only if its guarantee better contact with my seller/courier

See the highlighted example I wrote you above.

Since the value of item is more than 135 Euro, the import fees will be charged
from you when the package arrives in your country. So the postal service will
come with a bill: pay XXX Euro or you cannot get the package (and it will be
returned to seller or disposed of)

You pay to the seller for the item and for shipping costs.
The government will collect import fees + extra handling fees from you.

In Canada, import fees are 12%. So if the package's value is $200, we pay

200*0.12 = $24 + (handling fees $9.95) = $33.95

I don't know who much is the import fees in your country. Is it 20% or
25% or 27% or ...? If you would like to find out, I can tell you how to do it.

Hi Bricklinkers,

I already have copy of 4 existing certificates but the goal is to find all 7
(known to be in existence) ones.
I want to check the market, so see my wanted list, please:

1 x certificate with lime lom "Altair" (lom003) --- search "lomcert5" on
www.bricklink.com
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?G=LoMcert5#T=S&O={%22rpp%22:%22200%22,%22iconly%22:0}

1 x certificate with sand purple lom "Mizar" (lom009)

1 x certificate with black lom "Rigel" (lom011)

Please get in contact with me. We can figure out a good deal for both of us.
I would be happy if I find another certificate . It is some time ago I found
one.

Hoping to hear you, very thanks and greetings

Farid

Hi mate, Weve been buying for a while now and it kind of depends who sends the
items. The under 135 quid triggers 20% to be paid the seller and thats where
there has been problems because people then have had to pay the 20% again upon
the items arriving the UK.

We notice that most couriers are paying the 20% on the buyers behalf then attempting
to recoup this at a later stage. We have fedex invoice us for the 20% plus a
12 quid charge for the luxoury of them paying it for us!!. Other couriers like
UPS have sent a debt collection agency after us for 60 quid... Even though there
was no attempt to tell us about the vat owed and we phoned loads to get through
to some 1. And ofcourse we couldnt, we paid and no problem like but thats not
the point.

So. im hearing that there will also be new charges that come into effect from
the 1st of january 2022. we currently wait for a package now 350 quid from germany
and are realy eager to see what new charges will be brought foward. Soon as we
know ill update you mate to help you out. I mean, when you place an order and
the import, postage and fees are more than the order it kind of kills the happiness.

Yeah, the Fedex fees are quite high - they are actually £12 or 2.5% of the VAT
charge. So if an order is £2400+ the fees are higher than £12. Although on an
order that large, the fee is miniscule relative to the cost plus VAT.

http://www.fedex.com/gb/dutyandtaxnotification/

That's why it is important to know what postage/courier a seller will be
using, as the £4 difference in fees might be more important on a £150 or so order.

Even with RM, a £150 order soon becomes £188 once the VAT plus fees is paid.
So unless the foreign seller has a really good deal or the item cannot be purchased
in the UK, it might be better to shop around here.

Since 2000 pln is greater than 150 euro, BrickLink will not collect the VAT and
you will have to pay customs fees on delivery. So yes, you would have to pay
2000 pln plus shipping to the seller - the seller should not be collecting VAT.

Typically customs fees are paid to the courier - there may be an additional brokerage
fee as well.

And somone from Singapure can tell me about free trade agreegment between Europe
Union and republic od Singapure? From 2019 its validate 5 years.. its included
LEGO? Or presents from person to person?

It will be 20% VAT + £8 if Royal Mail handle it. If another courier, there might
be a different processing fee.

Every seller is different, check his feedback to get a better feel.

Also be aware that you will probably have to pay import duty and/or VAT when
the parcel arrives. 2000pln is about € 440, I assume Poland will have similar
rules as Netherlands regarding import duty/VAT. Probably best to check your national
customs website first.

It is up to the store to determine what methods of payment that they would like
to recieve.

In this case, you being a us resident, BL requires payment via onsite payment
methods which are only Paypal or Stripe at this time, so unless the stores you
are looking at have those payment methods, you will not be able to purchase from
them. This is so that BL can collect state taxes.

While you're awaiting takers, have you approached that "Lord of Bricks" to
your northwest, with an offer?

I'm sure that the two of you could come to terms

The Canada part may make it difficult with shipping costs.

It may or may not. What takes you beyond the uncertainty, is asking.

Perhaps a take-all for price consideration per unit, compensating for the shipping?
Who knows, the seller might have the margin and motivation, especially if you
show some flex too. The deal is moving the right direction in any case, no added
import costs.

Either way, it's easy to find out .

I'd hit-up the guy in Texas, too

Open the cart (hover over the Cart icon, wait for the menu to appear and click
on them one by one to open them).
Then, at the bottom of the cart, there’s a button to empty the cart.

It has to be at a good price.

You'll find at least some of them here:

Can you be more specific about what you're looking for?

MandR Productions mentioned that in his recent YouTube video too, so it's
no just you. Maybe, with global transport issues being a major problem right
now, they've suspended this service for the time being.

In addition to what others have said, I noticed that these things - shoulder
pads without body armor - are extremely popular in general. Whenever I part out
a pile of a set that has these, in some form or shape, all of them tend to sell
in the first weeks. I guess they're in demand for custom figs, since it allows
you to make a badass warrior while still being able to show a torso with a cool
print.

Because it’s rare?
Only appeared once in a rather big set, 8 years ago.

Plus older Ninjago figures are pretty hot right now and that part is easily lost
if taken off.

Yes, 10 years anniversary.

My guess would be because it has only been found in 1 set back in 2014. Pretty
rare at this point.

Oh interesting. I wonder what I read that made me think otherwise.

I was still kicking out $100+ mandatory insurance and teh $1.00 when I had it

Looking for stores that offer free shipping on certain order totals

I appear to have something jacked up with my settings. If anyone here who also
offers free shipping wants to assist, here's the problem:

- I offer (turned it off temporarily) free shipping over $100.
- There is a S&H fee of $1 to cover all the packing materials.
- Priority mail includes insurance up to $200. So I require insurance for orders
above $200.
- Everything below $100 has weight bands, optional insurance and the $1 S&H.

Everything works totally fine until the free shipping kicks in, and then the
S&H fee hasn't been applying and the mandatory insurance hasn't been
applying either.

Do I need to split this out in to two shipping methods?

I bought some in the beginning, just after my Dark Age: I hadn’t bought any Technic

IME they sit around for months or years until someone comes along and buys 100
of them. Then they sit around again.

They are cheap.  I guess it’s easier to buy them than to check you already have
enough and remove them from a WL you downloaded for a MOC.

I bought some in the beginning, just after my Dark Age: I hadn’t bought any Technic
sets yet and only had a few old ones.  Hmm… I bought 50.  Now I’ve way more,

accept a refund after you made a complaint?

In my world of brick-trading I want a fair warning: "Sorry I don't have those
bricks - would you like to make a change in your order, can I swap it for something"

I don't want to wait two weeks for my package to travel half the world an
then discover that some BIG pieces are missing... For me its not the money!

Am I wrong? The seller claims his lust for selling died - I say my lust of buing
died.. what do you say?

Note: I didn't gave a negative just a neutral.. and I didn't want any
refund.

Almost all the sellers I have bought from let me know, before they ship, if there
is something they are missing. Bricklink should make this a seller requirement.

Has the seller since closed his store? If he has lost his lust for selling he
should close his store. I might have left a negative in this case, not due to
the missing parts (since a refund was offered) as much as wanting to worn other
buyers that the seller had lost his lust for selling. But more likely I would
have left a neutral. It would depend on my mood (which it should not, but it
really would).

Personally, my overall satisfaction would depend on the value (to me) of what
I received. If I only received "filler" (stuff I would not have bought if I
had not landed in the store to buy something else), and I had paid much for shipping
or paid more for that filler than the low end price others sell the part for,
I would have been irritated.

Did you contact the seller before the neutral? If not, you should have. Very
possible they didn't purposely short you but rather miscounted one way or
another.
Mistakes happen, if they're easy to deal with and are willing to fix the
problem, I would still leave a positive.

Never would I send an order and then let the buyer know after dispatch.

I agree the seller should do the above.

But there are few things buyers can do to prevent any bad experience:
- Assume your order consisted of 10 lots and value 20 Euro and shipping from
germany costed 10 Euro. If two lots were vital for you, I would comment:
* The parts X and Y are very important. Please double check them and if you miss
them, I expect the order to be cancelled.
Or
* I expect the white part X not to be yellowed...
or
* Please make sure the part XXXXXa is correctly listed as variation XXXXXa and
it is not XXXXXb.
or
* Please make sure the color of part in my order X is truly light gray and not
light bluish gray. (this is a example of common mistakes with colors)

Every time I wrote such comments, it helped my order to be processed better (or
got cancelled before any trouble happens)

If a small part in my order is missing that I don't find it important, I
just accept the refund rather than make the seller to spend 5 or 10 euro to ship
me 0.10 euro of part.

The German seller for whom you left a neutral has a very good feedback record.
This means his customer service is in general very good. On BL, neutral feedback
is nearly as bad as negative one. If you leave too many bad feedbacks, specially
for good sellers, it does not help because:
- other sellers check feedbacks that big stores receive and may stop-list buyers
who have left neutral and negative feedbacks.
- there are also bad sellers. Your bad feedback (neutral or -) make good sellers
at the level of sellers who do not care about their customers.

So before leaving a neutral feedback, it is better you work with the seller and
leave a neutral feedback only if the seller really deserve it.

In the rare case that I’ve missed out an item, I dispatch 1st class as soon as
it is reported, at my expense.

This I believe is what many would do here but there are exceptions.

I stopped buying, because I stumbled across two brothers who run a minifig shop.
When a minfig was overstocked or damaged, I would request Technic pins as a replacement.
And they would ransack their big bin of odds and ends and cram the package full
of them! One of my favorite buyer experiences.

Sign up date is definitely not the reason, I had an order just after Christmas
from someone who'd only signed up the same day.

How are you trying to add the parts? I assume this is within the store rather
than the buy option in wanted lists. Are you entering a quantity and then clicking
Add Items to Cart, and does it fail at that point? What about if you click the
item picture to open the details popup and then click Add to Cart?

Can you try adding a part in a different store, just to rule out something in
the store settings?

Perhaps the store is not shipping to your location, or the store doesn't
allow purchases from new accounts (zero feedback). Technically, if these are
not the case, you should be able to add items to your cart regardless.

Even if the store does not deliver to you, you can add parts to the cart.

I don't think a store can disallow purchases from new accounts with zero
feedback - only accounts with negative feedback.

Ah, you are right:
"Sellers have an option in their Store Management Settings to disallow members
with a negative feedback score(rating) to buy in their store. When enabled, members
who have a feedback rating which is less than zero will not be able to check
out in that store."

Thanks for correcting me!

Okay, I won’t … but maybe they can’t find their post when they come back?

That’s why I always think twice before moving posts/threads when they are not

reach out to sellers about missing/broken/incorrect parts. Based on the sheer
size of the BrickLink catalog, the variations of some parts, the similarities
between some parts and colors, and the proneness of some parts to nearly imperceptible
hairline cracks, it is downright silly to expect every seller to fulfill every
order with 100% accuracy. The question is, at what point do you decide to reach
out to the seller about discrepant parts? Do you take into account the cost of
the part, the size of your order, the rareness of the part, the frequency with
which you order parts, etc.? For example, I have, through no scientific method
whatsoever, arrived at the conclusion that I would not contact a seller about
discrepant parts in my order unless the total cost of said parts is more than
one dollar (USD). I am not interested in extracting every nickel and dime from
sellers, however, I do believe I would have lost hundreds of dollars to discrepant
parts over the last four years had I not simply told the sellers of the discrepancies.

So what are your "rules" regarding discrepant parts?

As a buyer, I will notify a seller as soon as I have verified the order completely.
In most cases the seller is very generous and sends me a replacement if I ask
for one. More common is a refund for the missed, wrong, or broken piece(s). Most
sellers want to work with their buyers. On many occasions, I have contacted the
seller to let them know they sent the wrong piece, and the seller did not even
realize there was a variation. Understanding the havoc it can do to a seller's
inventory, I always contact the seller as soon as I can.

When you say the seller put the the wrong address, what do you mean? Did they
make an error, or did you supply the wrong address?

I agree with the others regarding NSS, possible PayPal dispute etc.

But the only extra part of information I would like to know from you is:
Is it possible the seller shipped it to an address written in your PayPal account
if paid by PayPal or was it a completely different address?

That's right, good point.

But if the NSS is not completed because the buyer is refunded the order status
resets to the earlier status ans FB can be left.

Might be best to skip leaving negative feedback this time, even if a negative
is warranted.

If the NSS is completed, I think the seller will not be able to leave feedback.
Hopefully the buyer paid with paypal, and can get money back.

Secondly, you can leave negative feedback, which will be visible to future buyers.
Sellers really don't like this, so telling the seller that you will do that

Sorry to hear that. You paid and the seller did not send the order to you. That
means it's an NSS - a Non Shipping Seller.

From this page you can start the NSS procedure: https://www.bricklink.com/retract.asp

When the seller doesn't resolve the situation and it completes, it gets marked
in their account. 3 NSS results in the seller losing their selling privileges.

You can't when using Easy Buy.
Instead, open the Wanted List and use the green 'Buy All' button.
This will allow you to sets filters by location etc.

As a seller, I want to know when a mistake has been made.

Mistakes happen, but if I don't know about them, I can't fix my system
to make them happen less frequently.

I am also concerned to make sure that the buyer is truly happy with their order.
I'm happy to provide a refund, send a replacement, etc. to ensure the buyer
received what they have paid for, and don't experience undue inconvenience.

Sometimes buyers don't want a refund or replacement, but I still want to
hear about the errors, because an error made picking an order translates into
an inaccuracy in my inventory. I appreciate buyers notifying me, because it
means I can correct the inventory, and won't have a problem with an order
in the future.

I send a polite message ASAP. Out of the 4 orders I placed recently, 3 have had
issues of either cracked ,missing, incorrect type. I do however only ask for
a refund of the price paid rather than demand they send the 20 cents(or whatever
it is) worth of parts at a loss of $3 in postage. Part of letting them know
is to help with their inventory, help them understand they need to list the correct
type etc.

Which is where the question devolves into one about risk ... How much risk is
that very rare conveyor belt part (with a hairline crack) worth ? I have not
decided that one.

BL has no grading system for used parts, and no standard mechanism for buyers
to know what to expect. That's part of the issue as well.

It's nice that you are a cooperative and easy going customer, that's
always very nice for a seller! But actually, the above is exactly what you can
expect, if you want to be strict. You buy something, it belongs to you, and you
should get it. And after all, buying individual parts on this platform, you are
paying premium, and knowing variants is part of the job that sellers are getting
paid for.

Even if I sent you a slightly different version of a part than you ordered, I
would send you the correct part. At the very least you should expect to get a
refund. You can't ever under any circumstances be expected to pay money for
things that you did not receive (even if you got wrong parts instead of it).
Even if something is worth 1 cent, I would go and send a refund for that, just
out of principle. No coupon, refund.

Yes, it's called a Wanted List here.
There is a heart icon towards the top right corner. Go in there to create a
Wanted List. Once the list is created and you have added all the parts/sets
to it, open it up and hit the green 'Buy All' button. You can then search
for stores and apply filters e.g by location.

been made but
I need something in higher resolution.

For me it can be helpful to write down the purpose of the item I'm purchasing,
for later usage when the order arrives.

How do I suggest something like this to Bricklink?

Thanks,
Nadav

Once placed you can copy the order into a document and add any notes you like.

Or if you want to do it while preparing the order, then type the part number
and comment, then cut and paste the order number when placed.

You can also convert your order into a Wanted List (can be done from the cart
page (bottom of the page), or just after the order was made, or later, from the
order’s details’ page (bottom of the page)).

Is it possible as a buyer to add personal comment to a lot or part in the cart?
By personal I mean that it will only be visible to me and not the seller.

Currently it is possible to add comments only to the whole order after it has
been made but
I need something in higher resolution.
