I'm in the process of obtaining the 67890 parts I need for a massive cathedral
model (yes, that is the part count, it was deliberately engineered to that number
with the help of my 7-year-old daughter who's a maths genius and found hitting
that number exactly to be hilarious, but I digress...)

I'm trying to get the parts I need for the stained glass windows, and finding
obtaining some of the colours hit and miss. For example, I ordered 2 trans neon
orange 1x1 bricks from a store recently and was sent plain trans orange instead.
Similarly with ordering some trans medium blue and receiving trans light blue.

I know there are colour variances, but holding up the incorrectly sent parts
to the light with the ones I've already got it's very obvious they're
different. I want to send photos however to show the sellers the difference -
but the photos don't show the difference that clearly (I don't have a
light box)...

I'm also being stymied with this because I get refunds but then have to try
to find the parts in other stores and having to pay a ton more in shipping costs
for only a small number of parts - or finding stores that have them with large
minimum buys and not much by way of other parts I need for this or other models.
The stores that have these parts are not in Australia and postage to here is
awful.

Any thoughts on how I could handle this better? Should I insist that the sellers
resend with correct parts? Do I need to send them photos or should my word be
enough (bearing in mind that it's probable that it's an honest categorisation
mistake by people who may not be able to tell the difference in their parts rooms
or whatever and entirely probable that the mistake was made some time ago with
things being put in the incorrect tray/drawer)?

Thanks and best regards,
-J

I sympathize with you. Every (starting) seller should have the The Periodic Table
of LEGO Colors (link: https://wlwyb.com/shop/periodic-table-of-lego-colors/)
or a similar tool.

I have quite a bit of trans bricks in my store and guarantee they are correctly
listed. Feel free to have a look
And good luck with your amazing project!

These colors are easily mistaken. Not all sellers are experienced enough to discern
the difference. Contact your sellers before you buy!! Explain that the colors
are extremely important to you and (politely) note that just refunding $.25 when
you've paid $15 to ship is not going to be a good workaround. If they don't
get back to you fairly quick with a confident reply, then move on. And check
feedback before ordering.

Good luck with your project! Math kids are the best. I have one myself.

Go to the store, click "Add Bookmark" and select Dislike. Then make sure to exclude
disliked stores when shopping your Want List (which means you can't use Easy
Buy)

When you use Auto-select, the dialog that appears has a checkbox “Select stores
when item price is lower than store Minimum Buy.”
Make sure it’s unchecked before clicking Start

Got an email through last night notifying me that some items had been removed
from my inventory with the reason:

"Reason: Item is a clone, replica, photocopy, modified element, or is counterfeit"

The item in question is

Part No: 58247 Name: Minifigure, Weapon Gun, Blaster SW Standard
*
58247 Minifigure, Weapon Gun, Blaster SW Standard
Parts: Minifigure, Weapon {Black}

in Tan, Lime and Yellow.

I picked up these parts a few years ago now from a seller in Hungary who I assume
must have had some sort of factory connection. I was placing an order anyway
and picked up a few to resell as I thought they were interesting.

These parts are not fake, have the LEGO logo and the part number etc.

Is Bricklink now policing selling items in 'un-officially' released colors,
or is this an order from the corporate overlords similar to the *whispers* Osprey

I notice there is still a Red Darth Vader helmet listed, however it was forcibly
changed to Black on my wanted list this week. What's going on here?

The last word of the reason could be it: counterfeit

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1322014

Those are Lego items made in Lego Factories in bulk by someone not authorised
with the purpose of resale.

It's not the same as if some prototype parts/colors get into the wild than
actually doing it in bulk.

Address of members aren't available (even having orders) for 2 years approx.

PS: I guess it's for privacy reasons.

Just like the previous feature we had that showed the last time an user was connected.
It was useful especially when you had a non selling seller and could check he
connected every day

Same, this is gone - for also the same reason I'd say?
