Aren't there many books on the catalog that only have 1 set as inventory?
|
The original production runs of this book did not contain the "set",
so the book is inventoried like all other books that did not contain a "set".
|
Then should not the “set” be removed from the catalog? After all it is technically
just a bag being used as a containment device for the parts.
|
In that case I suppose it would be best to add the inventory of parts to the
book and add the set as an alternate to all the parts. But I don't know if
the system is capable of that.

Go back up and read my original reply.

| In Help, Linse writes:
| Hi guys,
sadly the process of changing and merging parts on Bricklink (BL) is going on
and on, which is in some cases good and in some very bad.
I am a MOC designer and doing MODs of existing MOCs. For those modifications
I normally provide Studio generated Bricklink wanted list XMLs next to my instruction
pdfs.
In the last months I received more and more emails that complain about those
XML files.
I always test those XMLs right after I create them by importing them into my
default BL wanted list. So I know the XMLs are valid and work on BL at the moment
I created them.
But the strange way (at least in my opinion) of changing the parts lib on BL
and the way the poor implemented XML importer works on BL, those XMLs are suddenly
invalid.
So I have to regenerate the XMLs or cause Studio and BL are not synchronized
on the part changes, I have to manually fix the XMLs. This means I have to spend
a serious amount of my spare time for something that should really not be my
task.
My question is, why does it have to work this way?
All other tools and platforms, like Rebrickable, are still able to import those
"invalid" XML files.
I would expect BL just sets the old part numbers to "deprecated" or adds
the old numbers as valid alternatives to the new ones. So the import tool can
automatically switch those parts to the new valid number while the import process
Or another simple solution, the import tool has a "whitelist" of those
old parts integrated. So if the part is not found in the BL database, it checks
the "whitelist" and if the part is found there it automatically converts
it to the new number.
Really strange that such a situation is reality in 2024 with all that AI around
us.
Kind regards
Joerg aka Linse
|
Indeed that is a huge problem, sadly with the current tools within Bricklink
there no option, wish they updated the import to also match to alternate IDs.
For the time being your best option is to use the software Brickstore, import
the XML there and it will fix all the entries to match Bricklink, then you can
export as XML again.

There is a German store that parts out sets and list all the items at the same
high money amount $$$ then a day or so later it changes the prices of those items

| In Terms and Policies, yorbrick writes:
| This comes from the May newsletter. I am now totally confused.
Listing incomplete sets
Let's talk about incomplete listings! Our Item Condition policy only allows
certain parts of a set to be missing, such as instructions or original packaging,
to qualify it as Incomplete.
When you list sets that are missing minifigures or just the minifigures from
a set, they should not be listed as an incomplete set. They are qualified as
'Custom items'. The process for listing them is the same, except that
you should check the 'Custom item' check box, as shown below.
Listing items as 'Custom' not only helps buyers in their search for specific
items, but it also helps keep our price guide more precise for sellers.
OK, so it seems if you remove the minifigures from a set, or sell part of a set,
that set can no longer be listed as incomplete but has to be listed as a custom
lot. What is an incomplete set. It says this policy change (?) is to keep the
price guide precise for sellers, but what are you comparing when looking at incomplete
sets?
If a set has 10 minifigures, and is missing 1, is it an incomplete set? What
about 5, or 9. According to the official statement missing all 10 is not an incomplete
set but a custom lot. So where is tge critical point?
Same with parts, how much can be missing and still be an incomplete set? And
if someone else has sold an incomplete set, how do I know how complete/incomplete
it was?
This seems to be a huge policy change, especially the part that an incomplete
set can only be missing the box and instructions. That was previously allowed
under the definition of a used but complete set, and my understanding was that
a used set could be complete if it was missing just the box and/or instructions,
but a seller should add comments to say these were missing.
|
I have been reading the help page a few times now and I think they are referring
just to New Incomplete sets maybe, but the example of the email is a used one.
So IDK really, seems contradictory...

| I just received an order, and every item that was ordered shows up as two lines
with the exact same number of items ordered and the exact same number of items
remaining in my inventory (partial image below). The total number of items (136)
at the bottom adds up to the sum of all the lines, including the duplicates.
This seems to be a problem, as it indicates I have twice as many items available.
However, when I check my inventory, it matches a single line, not the sum of
the two lines. For example, I had 38 black technic axles, and the buyer appears
to have ordered 2x17=34, but my inventory says I still have 21 left. The total
cost of the order amounts to all the items, including the duplicates. Anyone
else ever have this issue?
Thanks in advance.

| Hello,
Is there any country that does not tax Lego imports?
|
Yes, the USA doesn't. However, individual states charge sales tax.
|
USA imports are exempt under the Section 321 de-minimas rule, up to $800
USD per day. If someone orders a large amount of LEGO from a single non-USA seller,
and they ship it all in one package with a proper customs declaration form, then
the Section 321 rule does not apply.
The seller could, in theory, break it up into multiple packages and ship them
spaced out to avoid this.
|
Yes but...
"CBP can also deny the exemption if it has reason to believe that a shipment
is one of several lots covered by a single order or contract but shipped separately
in order to obtain the benefits of the exemption."
More interesting is then, and especially in the case of LEGO Sets, Parts or any
items (Plastic Toys 950300 or 95030035), what would be the import fees in USA?
Like some % for the Country, or local Sales Tax (+ duty clearance fees)?
|
There aren't any duties on 9503 items in the USA, generally speaking, so
I don't think the $800 de minimus limit of Section 321 applies. That's
for items that *do* have tariffs or duties.
|
Good to know, I shipped some big orders there and didn't receive any news
about extra payments as I feared.

If by sellers not sending to Norway you mean Bricklink shows a message that the

the part out value is the before sale price or base price.

Payouts in refunds follow the same time frame but the other way around (stripe
to buyer)
Stripe wont go into negative on the sellers account.
So the seller needs to have the 1.8K gbp or more in his stripe balance , to make
this refund go through from stripe to in this case you.
I feel like the seller is not aware of this.
I think his balance in stripe is not high enough to set the refund through.
If his funds got paid out to his bank account before the refund was set; this
could be a likely scenario.
Please ask to seller to check in his stripe account, check if the balance is
enough.
And wich date the next payout would be.
He should see somewhere that there is a pending refund also.
Note; for high value orders like these the paypal fee's are a pain but it
does come with extra buyer protection.
Also refunds with paypal are much faster paid out

The old item numbers 3068bpXXXX were put as Alternate IDs in the corresponding
