Example:

2 lots to consider:
— 1 with qty 1 at €10
— 1 with qty 10 at €1

average = (€10 + €1) / (1 + 1) = €5.5

qty average = (€10 × 1 + €1 x 10) / (10 + 1) = 20/11 = €1.01

+ a bit of correct mathmatics

qty average = (€10 × 1 + €1 x 10) / (10 + 1) = 20/11 = €1.81

they were too busy to deal with this right now and will sort it out by the weekend.

Give it an optimistic try - just until beginning of next week.

I'm not overly optimistic, though - the timeline and the lack of communication
from the buyer indicates that "srewing you over" might indeed be his honest intention.

I’m really worried that the buyer will either ghost me or refuse to take any
action to pay for the items they received. As I live in Canada and they live
in the US I’m not even sure if I can take him to court or how that process would
even look like. I’m hoping someone in the community has some suggestions on
what steps I can take to get some funds back or at least to warn others of dealing
with PayPal and chargebacks.

If you do not get notified about any promising action from the buyer until monday,
go and find a lawyer regularly dealing with such cases. You're about to lose
a lot of money here if you don't give that a try.

What do you as a buyer or seller define neutral feedback as?
What are some reasons you would leave neutral feedback?

As a seller, I take a neutral FB as: "damn, something went wrong" - and if I
wasn't aware of that risk before, I make sure the buyer lets me know. After
I fixed it (in many cases, this IS possible), I might decide to ask the buyer
to change the FB if I feel the buyer missed a chance to clarify an issue before
leaving FB.

As a buyer, I leave neutral FB as a "soft negative" - certainly not for a "normal
OK" transaction. If the order had issues and the seller wasn't willing or
able to fix it (or was very slow in communication), I consider a non-positive
FB. It will not be left before at least three attempts to get in touch with the
seller and find a solution.
It will be a negative FB only if the seller leaves me with a substantial loss
or doesn't show any will to fix an issue clearly caused by him.

I tend to spend much time on fixing issues, even if caused by the other party.
This often pays out in the end - but sometimes, it's waste of time, though.

  Hello,

Wanted to know if somebody knew if there was more folios like this with others
drawings or if it's the only one?

Hi, this is Belgian the leaflet "97875-Be." from 1974.

Catalog No: c74be2 Name: 1974 Medium Belgian (97875-BE)
*
c74be2 1974 Medium Belgian (97875-BE)
Catalogs: 1974
It's known to exist in various local variants, at least DE, CH, AT, NL, BE,
FR, DK, SV, NO, IT, PO & JP. Many of these are in Bricklink the catalog already:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/search.page?q=97875#T=A

The drawings are always the same, these variants only differ in texts, though.

I believe (though not 100% sure) that this 97875-xx is the only catalog including
such type of construction drawings in 2D.

If there are more : where can i find some? Does somebody has few and would be
ok to give/sell some? Or just a scan ? Or maybe there are some pdf or internet
or something?

The 1977 versions of the European Technic/Expert Builder sets (850-853) included
a similar drawing of the main model in poster format - at the backside of the
instructions poster for the secondary model.
(these four sets didn't come with A4 sized, stapled instruction booklets
yet, but with two foldout posters instead).
See the alternate catalog images and current listings for sale here:

Instruction No: 850 Name: Fork Lift
*
850-1 Fork Lift
Instructions: Technic: Expert Builder

Instruction No: 851 Name: Tractor
*
851-1 Tractor
Instructions: Technic: Expert Builder

Instruction No: 852 Name: Helicopter
*
852-1 Helicopter
Instructions: Technic: Expert Builder

Instruction No: 853 Name: Auto Chassis
*
853-1 Auto Chassis
Instructions: Technic: Expert Builder

  No, see https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=212

From this source, I'd agree with your "no" regarding an inventory - but I'd
say "yes" to an addition to this list of unreleased items:

I was wondering what the other set of numbers on a brick were for?

For example, on a lime green 2x4 brick (randomly pulled from a bin I'm working
through) there is the seriel number "3001" which defines what piece it is.

Then, in the other corner is another set of numbers "6-251"

Number of the mould and position of the mould part this brick was made in.

Is this anything useful to us sellers?

It's useful for a few collectors, who collect special bricks and/or very
old bricks (mainly 2x4 test/prototype runs in most cases) also based on the mould
number and mould position number.
Not for the generic modern brick, though.

Is it just something to do with the date/factory/machine
it was manufactured on?

Date: No. These numbers are part of a mould that will be/has been used for years.
Location: Yes, unless this mould has been used in multiple locations (happened
for old moulds sold/sent to other manufacturing sites back then)

I don't suppose it tells me what colour the brick is? My word, that would
be so helpful! Telling medium blue from maersk blue or dark pink from magenta
isn't always easy!

Hehe, unfortunately not... The same moulds are used for all colours.

I bought with a lot of other instructions also this one.
Please how can I add them to the catalog?

Thank you
Waltraud

They are already in the catalogue

Actually: No - at least not properly.

Look in the instructions category of the set, and you will see that the last
image is showing the 'tall' booklet.

See

Instruction No: 8270 Name: Rough Terrain Crane
*
8270-1 Rough Terrain Crane
Instructions: Technic: Model: Construction
with the note "In some markets these instructions may be comprised of three booklets."
One booklet ("1/2") for the second model ("8270") is shown. The OP has
two different ones, named "8270-2".
Additionally, the set entry:

Set No: 8270 Name: Rough Terrain Crane
*
8270-1 (Inv) Rough Terrain Crane
106 Parts, 2007
Sets: Technic: Model: Construction
states "Instructions: 2 Booklets".

We're at 4 pcs in total now, so at least some correction (and an additional
image) would be required for the catalog.

Just make a note when you list them, stating that they are of the tall type?

Add an original photo of both leaflets (sell them in one lot, since it doesn't
make sense to sell them separately) and note that they are different than the
version in the current database. Plus, that you sell the leaflets for second
model only, of course.

Plus, add a fourth image to this entry:

Instruction No: 8270 Name: Rough Terrain Crane
*
8270-1 Rough Terrain Crane
Instructions: Technic: Model: Construction
here: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogImageAdd.page?itemType=I
(note: you need to chose set 8270-1 despite the printed set number being 8270-2)
and add a note guiding the catmins to this thread:

With all due respect, but this is far from being the truth.

I wouldn't say far from the truth, but I was somewhat wrong when I said the
situations were exactly the same. What I originally believed was a photo of
an instruction booklet from the TLG website may in fact be only a render (photo
attached).

Thanks for that image! Indeed, a pretty good rendering... and it certainly helps
to understand your approach, of course.

The anniversary model is nothing but an online instructions manual that makes
use of roughly 50% of the parts included in the three sets it's sourced from
- and no combo-pack behind.

It was sold as a bundle with its own item number:

Set No: 5005496 Name: Technic 40th Anniversary Bundle
*
5005496-1 (Inv) Technic 40th Anniversary Bundle
3 Sets, 2017
Sets: Technic

This is something I wasn't aware of - and therefore, you're right:

Nevertheless, there are strong similarities between these cases.

And if they had included a printed instruction manual with an actual, new set
number - then we would indeed see identical cases here.

But AFAIK this wasn't the case. And in addition, I believe that 5005496 is
nothing but an internal code for "throw all three sets in a box" - and not a
physical co-pack or even an individual retail product.

I do object. Do not delete the inventory but replace it with the correct
one

The correct inventories already exist for both of the space sets:

Set No: 4741 Name: Space Blacktron II Bundle Pack (Copack of Sets 6851, 6878, and 6887) - Blacktron Super Vehicle
*
4741-1 (Inv) Space Blacktron II Bundle Pack (Copack of Sets 6851, 6878, and 6887) - Blacktron Super Vehicle
3 Sets, 1 Book, 1993
Sets: Space: Blacktron II

Set No: 6861 Name: Space M:Tron Bundle Pack (Copack of Sets 6877, 6896, and 6923) - Secret M:Tron Space Voyager
*
6861-3 (Inv) Space M:Tron Bundle Pack (Copack of Sets 6877, 6896, and 6923) - Secret M:Tron Space Voyager
3 Sets, 1 Book, 1993
Sets: Space: M:Tron

After speaking with Russell I have decided not to do anything with the non-sets
6861-2 and 6862-1.

I do not really see the point to differentiate between what you call sets and
"non-sets" - 4741-1 "Blacktron Super Vehicle (Value 3-Pack)" is 6861-2
- the instruction leaflet should not be a standalone catalog item since it never
came without the three sets.

Plus: 6861-3 (why the heck did they use the number 6861 in the shop@home
catalog image? - another indication that these s@h numbers are pretty useless...)
is 6862-1.

It may be possible to correct the problems with non-sets
(like these and unreleased sets) with a technical solution.

If inventories do not include parts (but only sub-sets), I don't see the
issue. Just avoid duplicate entries when an alternate item number (for identification)
is sufficient.

At least, that is, the phantom parts problem.

You refer to inventoried parts in unreleased sets, right? Since they are not
(tecnically) necessary (no actual part-out will ever happen), they are just a
guide to help collectors re-build these sets, imho.
It's a strategigal decision if BrickLink feels the need to serve this purpose.

The problem of certain sets being given a special exception while other similar
sets are excluded from the catalog may be more difficult.

Not sure if this is actually an issue, as long as "similar2 is not "identical".
The presence of a set number (especially if printed on a phyiscal instruction
leaflet) has always been a good indication to include a release in a database.

They have been sold as sets - at least 6861 (The Blacktron one) has been distributed
as a shrinkwrapped combination of the three sealed sub-sets plus the instructions
leaflet for the Combo model.

The set was never sold as a standalone set. It only existed as instructions.
The sub-sets you mention were actually sets in their own right and the pack
was merely a combo pack of those sets with bonus instructions.

The 40th anniversary model we're discussing is exactly the same as
the other sets you mention:

With all due respect, but this is far from being the truth.

The anniversary model is nothing but an online instructions manual that makes
use of roughly 50% of the parts included in the three sets it's sourced from

idea.

6861 is a unit actually sold like shown in the catalog - as one object (call
it combo pack or set, whatever you like - for the BL database it's a set
either way) including the instructions leaflet numbered 6861.
Plus, it got a set number (even a unique one in case of the 6862).
It wasn't even distributed by LEGO only - see attached image with a clearance
price tag of a physical retail store.

Therefore, since Marek and I agree that these should not be considered sets (at
least for inventory purposes), I am thinking about deleting the inventories for
these two sets (one of which I added myself):

Set No: 6862 Name: Secret Space Voyager (Super Model Instructions)
*
6862-1 Secret Space Voyager (Super Model Instructions)
1991
Sets: Space: M:Tron
Marked for Deletion

Set No: 6861 Name: Blacktron Super Vehicle (Super Model instructions)
*
6861-2 Blacktron Super Vehicle (Super Model instructions)
1993
Sets: Space: Blacktron II
Marked for Deletion

If anyone objects, now would be the time to mention it.

I do object. Do not delete the inventory but replace it with the correct
one - just like other combo-packs or value packs with fully valid standalone
sub-sets inside:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=1530-1
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=4127417-1 plus
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=4127417-1&viewItemType=G
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=VP-12
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=65844-1
and please make sure the inventory either includes the "book" (which is an instruction
leaflet, of course) - or the set keeps having an instructions entry with the
book being removed from the catalog:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?I=6861-2
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?B=120317

While we are at it, 6861-2 should be merged with

Set No: 4741 Name: Space Blacktron II Bundle Pack (Copack of Sets 6851, 6878, and 6887) - Blacktron Super Vehicle
*
4741-1 (Inv) Space Blacktron II Bundle Pack (Copack of Sets 6851, 6878, and 6887) - Blacktron Super Vehicle
3 Sets, 1 Book, 1993
Sets: Space: Blacktron II
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=4741-1
since they are actually the same and can't be told apart as phyiscal items
- 4741 is nothing but an alternate item number for/from shop@home which is not
visible anywhere on the physical item.

Very well done, I like it this way!

The older version, even if rare compared to the later one, should definitely
be the regular item (minifig in this case) just as you've made it.

to the site admins: Any note at the bottom of an inventory should be much more
prominent - these notes are being overlookedway too often (many cases in Forum
threads in the past).
I would like a red banner at the top of an inventory:
"IMPORTANT: Please see the inventory note at the bottom of this page"

P.S.: the image of the trans-red (and trans-yellow, trans-dark blue, trans-black)

For mobile devices (a mid-size 4.5" Samsung smartphone with 720x1280px. in my

the item lists inside a store can always be zoomed and scrolled, this does not

For convenient BL usage on a mobile device, we are in urgent need of a BrickLink

far from being mobile friendly. These two buttons/icons do not even make the
big difference here for me, honestly... If I were a regular tablet user, I might
have had a different opinion on this topic.

Just curious...don't you find that the Page Up, Page Down, Home and End buttons
on your keyboard are a thousand times more efficient then using the scroll bar
or any floating buttons you have to find and click?

No, I don't. I browse with my right hand on the mouse, not on the keyboard.
I tend to use buttons all over the page when browsing, so keeping my right hand
on the mouse appears to be the best way for me.

The little arrow on the eBay pages does not cover up any content on the site.
Navigation aids are all well and good (especially for mobile devices) but covering
actual content with them is as bad as any pop-up ad in my opinion.

Honestly, I wonder which screens are actually affected - I do not even use full
HD screens (but 1680x1050 on two different computers) and nothing* is covered
when I brwose the site...

Cheers,
Jan

*I just noticed an exception: when browsing a store, the green "Add Items to
Cart" button is indeed covered for a moment if I do not scoll to the very end
of the page.
That's stupid, of course - and should have been spotted by this "world class
development team" before implementation, no excuse.

I've seen the "To Top" floating button when in stores and found it to be
only mildly annoying, but now it seems to be in the lower right of EVERY screen
along with a "Help" button. There is already a link to "Help" at the bottom
of every page, why do we need another one (that moves around no less)? Additionally,
I think I can manage manually scrolling to the top of my home screen without
the aid of a bow and arrow.

Is this a recent change or have I just not noticed it before? Do we have to
have these controls that hover and move around on the screen erratically? It's
especially frustrating on a small mobile screen--it's just clutter.

Can we drop them or at least have an option in our settings to turn them off?

I seem to be the only one who likes this "to top" floating button, I liked it
from the first day eBay introduced it and have missed it here since that day.

With the preference for reading Forum threads in full without loading message
after message, this is extremely handy - and PLEASE do not say it's no improvement
compared to the scroll bar. It is: one CLICK compared to CLICK - HOLD - MOVE
(or click at the top of the scoll bar and hold for a while)

For every longer page (and there are many of these - just browse the catalog
in the "List with Images" view, 200 items per page to reduce page loading cycles),
it's indeed very helpful. In addition, it's no opt-out feature at eBay,
and I do not see anyone complaining about this anywhere... just a thought.

I agree that the option to switch this on/off might please everyone - but we
already have tons of settings to understand by new users, even most established
users don't even know all of them.

The "help" link is a different thing, imho - it (only) belongs to the top right
(and has to include an easy way to the TOS and all help pages properly indexed)
and to the bottom where it can already be found.

I would like to have implemented that members that are stoplisted by me
- would also not be able to send me messages
- would also not be able to enter my store

If I remember it right, this is how it was before.
Today I received another request to unblock a member. I don't want messages
from member I stoplisted, for they are stoplisted for a very good reason.

I am stoplisted by some sellers I never had any transaction with, not as seller,
not as a buyer. It's very annoying when I spend a lot of time searching for
parts and fill my shopping cart and then get the message that I can't buy
from this seller.

Use the least favorite store option and it solves your problem...

No, it does not (not for me and for sure not for the OP either):

- I can access the store that's on my stop list, all I get is a very(!) tiny
"thumbs down" (facebook lookalike) symbol in the tob bar, next to the "Favorite
Stores" pulldown menu.

- I can access the store from the price guide* and there's no way to exclude
least favorite stores from the price guide (only listings flagged as "incomplete"
can be filtered)

- The first time I get an obvious indication that I'm trying to shop in a
store that blocked me is when I open my shopping basket/cart: "Seller Refuses
Service".

That's WAY to late - and it has been much better before the site update:

I could not even browse a store that blocked me, and on top I got a brick wall
symbol in the ID card of every seller that blocked me(instead of the green/red
box indicating if the seller ships to my country or not).

That's clearly worsening the buying experience - period.

Jan

*P.S.: IMHO, the filter option for the search function should be applied to the
price guide as well - many users (like me) are starting with the price guide
when shopping, not with the search function.
