If I understand you correctly, you can accomplish this by going into your Wanted
List and click on "Apply Order" on the top right. It will then give you a list
of your most recent orders and you can select whichever order applies to that
Wanted List. The amounts purchased will then appear in the "have" amount under
the wanted amount for each item.

Hope this helps.

Hello

I would like the wanted list(s) to be automatically updated when i purchase certain
items that are on those list(s).
It would really save me a lot of time not having to figure out which items to
delete from the wanted list(s), and which ones to keep.

Kind regards
B3iR3

I'm amazed that, despite the head being rotated, it's actualy printed
level. That's gotta be a misprint!

It is interesting that all the colours are aligned correctly on an unaligned
part, so they must be doing "wet-on-wet" printing - printing one colour directly
after another without moving the part.

Follow-up from:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1207021

Peeron has the the earliest version, in which we can see white

Part No: 6540a Name: Technic, Steering Arm Large with Wheel Hub Holder - Pin Connection
*
6540a Technic, Steering Arm Large with Wheel Hub Holder - Pin Connection
Parts: Technic, Steering {White}
and light gray

Part No: 6628 Name: Technic, Pin with Friction Ridges and Tow Ball (Undetermined Type)
*
6628 Technic, Pin with Friction Ridges and Tow Ball (Undetermined Type)
Parts: Technic, Pin {Black}

I do have another version with ID 120530, that has extra pages 16-17.
On the insturctions page 16-17, there are white

Part No: 6540b Name: Technic, Steering Arm Large with Wheel Hub Holder - Axle Connection
*
6540b Technic, Steering Arm Large with Wheel Hub Holder - Axle Connection
Parts: Technic, Steering {Light Gray}
and light gray

Part No: 2736 Name: Technic, Axle 1L with Tow Ball
*
2736 Technic, Axle 1L with Tow Ball
Parts: Technic, Axle {Light Gray}
and on the extra pages 16-17, there are light gray

Part No: 6540b Name: Technic, Steering Arm Large with Wheel Hub Holder - Axle Connection
*
6540b Technic, Steering Arm Large with Wheel Hub Holder - Axle Connection
Parts: Technic, Steering {Light Gray}
and black

Part No: 2736 Name: Technic, Axle 1L with Tow Ball
*
2736 Technic, Axle 1L with Tow Ball
Parts: Technic, Axle {Black}

Question: in what set and which version of insturctions, light gray

Part No: 6540a Name: Technic, Steering Arm Large with Wheel Hub Holder - Pin Connection
*
6540a Technic, Steering Arm Large with Wheel Hub Holder - Pin Connection
Parts: Technic, Steering {White}
is used?!

Answer: set

Set No: 8444 Name: Jet Wasp
*
8444-1 (Inv) Jet Wasp
309 Parts, 1999
Sets: Technic: Model: Airport
So TLG did a back and forth 6540a-6540b-6540a

Questions 2: Is there any difference between white 6540a (from 1994) and light
gray 6540a (from 1999)?

****************
There are 20 of black

Part No: 6558 Name: Technic, Pin 3L with Friction Ridges
*
6558 Technic, Pin 3L with Friction Ridges
Parts: Technic, Pin {Black}

used on both versions as follows:
2 page 12 step 14
2 page 20 step 21
2 page 24 step 24
4 page 36 step 5
4 page 36 step 6
2 page 37 step 30
2 page 38 step 31
2 page 42 step 7
2 page 43 step 8

Almost certainly a misprint but something that I think will be worth something
to the right person as its set at a nice rotating angle and whilst you can always
set heads at a full 90 degrees where its facing out from the side that angle
always looks a bit forced. I think someone would appreciate something like that
for a display scene compared with always having their astromech droids facing
forwards the whole time

In fact rather than re-releasing almost identical R2-D2's it would be a nice
touch if Lego intentionally made some like this to give a bit more variation
to what is otherwise a difficult minifigure to make look unique when compared
with other minifig characters.

I have lots of those heads and they look to all be facing forwards from what
I can tell

Of course with it being a relatively new set there is always the possibility
that someone doing the set inventory assumed it was the same version as what
appears in the other sets but given the Lego site has images of this minifig
facing forwards I can't imaging it to be an intentional difference?

They will probably sit for longer until I can muster up the courage to go through it.

you already muster up the courage

You can easily accept the request for changing 18 to 20 of black 6558. I gave
you everything you need.

I also received this week a new box-opened version that I bought few weeks ago.
I can provide any information you need. Mine is the later version.

of the sets that was passed from one inventory admin to another to another...

This set has been on my list of "tough things to figure out" for a long time
now. I don't think it is possible to use match ID 99 in this case.

I figured this, but maybe it is better to include match ID 99 and an extra note
for the three versions(maybe four?) of the insturcitons we know exist.
As it is now, the extra note refers to match ID 99 but there is none in the current
inventory.

I removed the mention of MID 99 in the note. It was there because a standard
format was used for the notes in all of these "redesign" cases and it just slipped
through.

Voted no. I don't see the value in increasing NPB and NSS. I'm not
sure why you think it is difficult to keep NPB/NSS at 0 completed.

Within the serif numbered bricks (3005pt{number}s) I found also some difference
in the print. See picture. For example number 6: right in the picture has an
old logo on the stud and the two on the left have modern and old logo on the
stud, but I think this are just variations.

So maybe a reshuffle of the images, variantions and sets appearing is in order.
Also looking at set 237, because the bold numbered bricks could not be a alternate
for this set. The bold numbers all have a modern logo (1968) and yet in 1966
the set 237 (1960) was replaced by set 437. So the bold numbered bricks could
be a alternate for set 437, but not for set 237.

In Help, primadeluxe writes:

487, 437 and 237 and not the ones which are know appearing (3005pt{number}).
Looking at the pictures of these sets, it would make sence, also because the
serif bricks have both the modern logo (appears in 1968) and old logo (appears
in 1958) on the studs.

The number bricks of my picture only have the modern logo on the stud and from
which sets they are I do not know. I have looked at a lot of pictures of sets
with numbered bricks, but did not find one with the bricks on my picture. So
they could easely be the 3005pt{number} bricks.

is neither bold nor with serif, so must be the middle one in your

differently. Looking at the part numbering, it may have originally been intended
as the non-distinguished variety, but seeing your picture, it must be the plain
(thin) variety.
Can you upload your image as an additional image for these parts? I think it
is enlightening to see the bricks side by side for comparison.

I agree with no NPB and no feedback for mutual cancellations. In my experience,
the bulk of completed NPB's are users who just simply refuse to communicate.
The Buyers who request cancellation in my store will get cancelled without incident,
with few exceptions. However, when a large order is placed, with many lots, and
a good amount of time spent pulling it together, it does not leave the Seller
with good feelings towards a cancelling Buyer.

Yes, that is why I don't pick and pack before payment.

Hello,

I'm here since 10 years and I really find it wrong that a newcomer has 3
NPB as much as someone who is here since years.

I'll explain you why.

I really believe that a newcomer with 0 to 9 feedbacks shouldn't be allowed
to have more than 1 NPB chance. If you miss that, you're out.
As a seller, I have been targeted too much with newcomers that realize they don't
want to buy after the order was placed. This means my bricks are blocked for
7 to 21 days.
If I do cancel the order, the buyer can give me a negative, so I have to undergo
the NPB procedure in order to prevent the seller from giving nasty feedbacks.

My suggestion follows like this:
0-9 feedbacks rating : 1 NPB / NSS
10-99 2 NPB / NSS
100-999 3 NPB / NSS
1000-9999 4 NPB / NSS
10k+ 5 NPB / NSS

I believe that sellers may be targeted with NSS for facticious reasons, like
"1 piece wasn't in the package, I start a NSS" from a 0 fb rookie who still
doesn't know how BL works. Sometimes BL takes a lot of time to reply and
this lead in the past in the closing of many shops for a third NSS which wasn't
actually real. Giving a 4th or 5th NSS chance it's just a compensation for
possible "fake NSSs".

I'd personally prevent 0-9 feedback rating users from leaving negative feedbacks
too. But that's another story.

I think this is part of the issue. If a buyer contacts a seller and asks if they
can cancel and the seller agrees, I see no reason for NPB or feedback. The seller
knows the buyer doesn't want to proceed so could cancel the order and none
of their inventory is held up. There is no need for the seller to leave negative
feedback for a buyer if the buyer has asked for the cancellation and the seller
mutually agrees. I'd prefer to see it that if the order is mutually cancelled,
then no feedback should be allowed from either party. I think it is quite nasty
for a seller to mutually agree to cancel an order, then leave negative feedback
as the buyer asked to cancel. It is just vindictive. If sellers do this, then
there is little point in the buyer asking to cancel, they might as well just
sit it out and wait for the NPB, holding up the seller's inventory all that
time.

I'd much prefer to have buyers that ask to cancel than ones that do not contact
and just sit and wait it out even though they have no intention of paying.

4.when a buyer or seller has had no negative/neutral feedback for the last 5
years or so,his/her negatives or neutrals older then 5 years should be removed
from the scoreboard
so this is an extra motivation to improve quality or behaviour

If old negatives are removed, then old positives should also be removed. After
all, if bad behaviour is removed from a record, then so should any good feedback
at the same time.

I have no problem with the positive praise rating being calculated over the past
year or five years or whatever, but I don't think old feedback should ever
be removed.

would like to add a few more.
1.the one who wants to just cancel the order in between

2.when a buyer pays AFTER an NPB alert he/she should not be allowed to give feedback.

3.obvious retaliation feedback should be removed more easy on request

Part of this is suggested years and years ago (you know who did this Hans...
😉) and it keeps coming up on this forum but Bricklink doesn’t seems to do anything

I agree on some parts like:
1) OCR from a buyer should mean a buyer can only leave positive feedback when
the OCR was granted.
2) OCR from seller means the can only leave positive feedback when the OCR is
granted by the buyer.

So, in both cases, the one that takes the initiative should honor the other person
with non other than positive, or no feedback at all.

Suggestion 2: after a start of the NPB but before completing an NPB is a dificult
one.
I somehow agree with you due to the fact it is possible a buyer will retaliate,
on the other hand there may occur a different problem like bad products inside
the order.
So, maybe, only neutral or positive feedback is possible?

Suggestion 3 I agree on.

4) I do not think I would agree on, if non positive feedback is or was deserved
it might still be good to see what happened. Sometimes people fall back into
older habits and it can be usefull to notice this as early as possible.
Maybe, if wanted, the system could be putting less pressure on very old non positive
feedback but for me this would not be too important to change.
Taking away negative feedback from members would be a possible blow to the members
that gave them, there was a serious problem and they gave it with a good reason.

I’m not sure I filled this out correctly. 433789 says 8 but book inventory is 6. Could also add one to extras. 433786 says 13 but book says 12. 1 should be under extras. 433783 says 2 but book says 1. 1 should be assed to extras.

Thank you for catching these errors!

I verified the changes you have requested with the instruction manual, the LEGO
inventory data, and a full unboxing/building review video located at

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OI8rSi3n-k

Your requests have been accepted and I have manually added the extras to the
inventory.

Cheers,

I have multiple copies of this set. One of my copies is in mint condition with new sticker sheet. Looks like it was built only once.
All my copies come with 3048a.

Make that “added” not “assed” ...

"Assed" is so much funnier though

We are currently looking to get larger / better images directly from the LEGO
Group for a lot of the older sets.

Wow! That's great to hear!

I really love how this image looks. How can we get more updated images of classic
sets. I have several that I have been taking lately that I would be glad to
offer if needed.

As a rule, we only use official images for sets. This one was approved as an
exception, but I have moved it to the alternate slot.

  Hi,

I do use all of the methods you mentioned but it doesn't really do what I

you or someone else reading this can actually make it happnen of course)

Don't expect any changes to this part of the site's functionality soon.
You'll have to learn how to make best of what already is there. I think maybe
you might benefit from:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=1&viewImg=Y&sortBy=D&sortAsc=D&catType=P&v=1
found halfway down https://www.bricklink.com/catalog.asp

Otherwise, for the task you have set yourself, you might be better of with sites
like NewElementary or Brickset. Bricklink's primary focus is to have a catalog
for selling purposes.

The year of release associated with part-color-combinations stems only from what
is listed in inventories. Information like a hiatus in production is not directly
available on Bricklink. You would need to breakdown the inventories to the source
of each part manually. You can use the catalog item relation pages like https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3008&colorID=39&in=A
to find the sets a specific colored part comes in, and https://www.bricklink.com/catalogDownload.asp
to get a reference list for all sets including their year of release.

Hi,

I do use all of the methods you mentioned but it doesn't really do what I
need without a lot of work so I think a feature would be well appriciated (assuming
you or someone else reading this can actually make it happnen of course)

As far as I know they are not assemblies because they came separate in the sets.
I have separated hundreds/thousands without causing any damage.

I believe that assemblies are not only made for pre-assembled parts in sets.
Example:

Part No: 2878c02 Name: Train Wheel RC, Holder with 2 Black Train Wheel RC Train and Chrome Silver Train Wheel RC Train, Metal Axle (2878 / 57878 / x1687)
*
2878c02 (Inv) Train Wheel RC, Holder with 2 Black Train Wheel RC Train and Chrome Silver Train Wheel RC Train, Metal Axle (2878 / 57878 / x1687)
Parts: Wheel

This part is even easier to disassemble than the hinges, and have no risk of
inducing stress marks.

/Jan

All wheel assemblies are automatically approved if they are assembled as such
in the instructions.

For the larger hinges, that may present a problem. I would not put any work into
photos, etc unless you know for sure we are going to take them. If I had to make
a decision now, I would say no, but with more time we might come up with a good
reason for them.

There are no guidelines at the moment for part assemblies, just as there are
no guidelines for part variants. If you're asking for suggestions, I would
suggest waiting until we have updated guidelines in place before submitting these
parts as assemblies.

Our goal is to have the guidelines fully updated by the end of the year. As
of this moment we have 18 out of 27 updated and only have 9 left to complete.
All of that work has occurred since February, 2020.

The intention of the recent update to this page:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=170

was to clarify situations like this. Take a look and see if it does.

If it doesn't, then please offer suggestions on improving the standards so
that it is clear where individual statuettes should go.

I think
this new mold was created because in order to create the anniversary figure lego
wanted to use a 1 piece Vader helmet, as opposed to the 2 piece helmets they
switched to a couple of years ago. This mold variation deserves a note in the
catalog entry for the helmet,, or a variant added to the catalog, but I'm
not sure which. If someone wants to take the appropriate action from here, please
go ahead. See the attached image for the differences between the two.

I have an original helmet from 1999 and it is fur sure the left variant, so that's
definitly not a new mold. I would also say that most if not all images here show
the left variant:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=30368&in=M

And regarding the reintroduction of the old helmet in set 75261, the designers
said that the old mold was still available:
https://www.brothers-brick.com/2019/04/09/interview-with-lego-star-wars-designers-jens-kronvold-and-kurt-kristiansen-feature/

So I am wondering: Where did you find the right variant and are you sure it is
a genuine LEGO part?

I agree with Jonas.
Your "old" mold on right is suspicious. I just take a look on my Vaders from
different years and in all I have left helmet with narrow nose so your "new"
mold. And there is only one diffrence between oldest and newer Vader halmets
from this mold (later on this).
For this post I just took 4 representants from different years.
1) First one is

Minifig No: sw0004 Name: Darth Vader (Light Gray Head)
*
sw0004 (Inv) Darth Vader (Light Gray Head)
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6
years 1999-2003
My minfigure on images is from 2002 set.
2) Second one is

Minifig No: sw0277 Name: Darth Vader (White Pupils)
*
sw0277 (Inv) Darth Vader (White Pupils)
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6
years 2009-2016
My minfigure on images is from 2011 set.
3) Third one is

Minifig No: sw0599 Name: Santa Darth Vader
*
sw0599 (Inv) Santa Darth Vader
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Other
this ony came onluy in 2014 advent calendar.
4) fourth one

Minifig No: sw1029 Name: Darth Vader (20th Anniversary Torso)
*
sw1029 (Inv) Darth Vader (20th Anniversary Torso)
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6
the newest one from 2019 anniversary set.

and as you can see all of them have identical narrow nose just like "new one"
from your photo.

The only change is that somwhere in timeline LEGO started to add molded number
on this helmet and LEGO logo. Oldest ones don't have mold number and LEGO
logo. It is visible on images. But with mold number this helmet was already in
2014 advent calendar set and this helmet is identical with 2019 helmet.
btw LEGO has for this part only one mold number and one PCC
https://brickset.com/parts/design-30368

I also check that in this Vader from 2013

Minifig No: sw0464 Name: Darth Vader (Celebration)
*
sw0464 (Inv) Darth Vader (Celebration)
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Other
helmet is also already with mold number on it. (and it is of course identical
with 2019 one). I couldn't track for now when LEGO have started to molding
part number on this helmet. But beside this only difference oldest helmet without
part number are identical with newer ones with part number.

Luckily Im only doing this with technic / sami-technic parts but as you might
imagine it is quite tedious.

I am aware that there is the NEW keyword bedide a part that has been released
in a new color however this does not tell us what set it comes in right away
because you can have a bricklink part catalog entry but the section "part appears
in" can be blank for a while,

I know that a load of people are interested in part recolors so I think this
feature would make the bricklink catalog a more powerful tool for lego fans!.

Any questions, leave a reply.
Thanks, SNIPE

Try:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp

For dark turqoise you mentioned, scroll down to that colour, click on the sets
link and sort by year:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v=5&pg=1&colorInSet=39&catType=S

For parts, click on the parts link on that colours page, then sort by year again:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v=5&pg=1&colorPart=39&catType=P

You can also just view of all of the technic parts by going to:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogSearch.asp
Selecting "parts" for item type, "technic" for the Category and the colour you
want from the drop down list. I'm afraid though I do not know how to select
multiple categories, so I have to do it for axles, pins, links, panels etc as
a search each time. Probably why I prefer to just use the colour page and sort
by category if that is what is needed:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v=3&pg=1&colorPart=39&catType=P
then click on the specific categories I need. There might be an easier method
lurking somewhere.

This is what I got after I sent in a dimensions change for the robot body part:

Do I have to put in a change for all three variants?

No, the dimensions changes wouldn't be accepted for any of them because this
part has non-standard dimensions.

The reason I put the dimensions in for this one was that I had a sale and the dimensions made it want to go as a package instead of meeting the dimensions of our lettermail. I guess I’ll have to change the dimensions for my own inventory.

I'm sorry that our dimensions are so confusing. We will be working on improving
them this year. I'll try to explain how packaging dimensions work. There
is a hidden field for each catalog entry that contains packaging dimensions and
these are used to calculate instant checkout.

The stud-size dimensions you see (2 x 2 x 2, in this case) are not used for packaging
dimensions. And stud-size dimensions themselves are in a mess. There are 28,000+
parts missing stud-size dimensions altogether.

But that's another issue. If you need packaging dimensions updated, these
are handled by a site administrator out in California and not by catalog associates
like myself. To get packaging dimensions added or corrected, please post in
the discussion forum using the Packaging Dimensions topic.

If you have any questions about any of this, please let us know. And again,
I apologize for the confusing way we do things right now.

I still haven't sent in the packaging dimensions to the site admin.

Any questions, leave a reply.
Thanks, SNIPE

  Hello

I got a quote request from a customer saying that the shipping was too high.
When I looked at the order it looks like the below piece is the issue.
I have shipped this part before with no issues as lettermail.
With Canada post anything thicker than 2cm must be sent as parcel which is much
more expensive.
I am trying to understand how bricklink takes the 2x2x2 and translates that to
shipping dimensions in centimetres or inches.
Also can someone help me to understand how this can be 2x2x2 when one side is
longer than it is wide.
Is one of the measurements stacked bricks?

Thanks for any help

Thank you this helps, but it doesn’t address how bricklink uses this information
as it relates to packaging limits.

BrickLink keeps a separate database for packaging dimensions not related to the
format of our catalog data. The new database was derived from a mishmash of sources
but is now updated by members posting in a certain thread here in the Forum.
You can only view the dimensions entered for the parts in your shop on the My
Inventory pages.

Hope that helps,
Jen

When comparing two Darth Vader figures I had, I discovered a mold variance between

type appeared in the 2019 20th Anniversary Clone Scout Walker

Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 3
I think
this new mold was created because in order to create the anniversary figure lego
wanted to use a 1 piece Vader helmet, as opposed to the 2 piece helmets they
switched to a couple of years ago. This mold variation deserves a note in the
catalog entry for the helmet,, or a variant added to the catalog, but I'm
not sure which. If someone wants to take the appropriate action from here, please
go ahead. See the attached image for the differences between the two.

Anyone? Does this mold change necessitate an amendment to the Bricklink Catalog?

It appears it has just been made as an additional note.

Actually there is no error, the synopsis is based on available data. but that
is just one incident it still brings up the issue that retaliatory feedback cannot
be removed and in that, it can cause more issues down the road. and it also prevents
buyers from leaving honest feedback in fear they will receive retaliatory feedback
in response.

Wrong again: it was negative, you notice the negative feedback they left for
Sludgemonster?

https://www.bricklink.com/feedback.asp?fdbType=2&p=mjsheller

and it seems this seller is pretty notorious in not being a great seller and
leaving retaliatory feedback too.

Yes buyer left neutral, but still does not excuse the negative left by the seller.
and the way the rules are written the seller could do nothing about it. since
the rules were very specific on what reasons feedback could be removed. and that
is what I want changed since they are not the only reasons, since retaliatory
feedback has been removed before and so forth. (in fact he has already contacted
the admins about getting the feedback removed)

Are you Ricky Stratton from Silver Spoons?

Nope

Too bad. You wouldn’t gift me a million $ or two anyway?

Yes. It’s not stud x stud x stud, it’s stud x stud x brick.

A longstanding issue that could be simply solved by a few words changed….

Part of the problem is buyers keep buying from sellers with relatively poor feedback,
suggesting (some) buyers don't care.

I think it’s more a “it won’t happen to me” attitude.

Remember HouseOfLogo (and what a real mess it was).

I 'memba that member... they gave many Buyers quite the wild ride...

problem is it is not just bad buyers but bad sellers, my suggestion here was
made because of a seller who left retaliatory feedback for a deserved negative
they had received from a buyer.

But that’s just my point with the ebays feedback system Sellers can’t leave negative
feedback for buyers which means they can’t leave retaliatory feedback in any
shape or form! Meaning the buyer is able to give their honest opinion without
fear of retaliatory feedback!

It’s a change I’ve been calling for some time:-

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1168664

I feel its only important that we understand how a seller performs(Feedback wise!)
because it goes without saying that there will always be a few difficult customers
and its how sellers deal with those tricky customers that’s important and for
those customers that are impossibly unreasonable they can be reported and dealt
with by Bricklink!

While I do agree such a system would be useful it could also have drawbacks too.

Well every system has drawbacks but presumably the current system has big enough
drawbacks for you to warrant posting your concerns in the first place? Hopefully
any drawbacks you associate with the ebay system will be outweighed with what
you are already experiencing right now with the current system?

But now these members must have become BLUSERs: can’t buy, can’t sell, no reasons
