I think they mean the set they bought is incomplete as the inventory on here
has been verified as well.

In which case to the OP you need to create a wanted list with the missing parts
on it and then use that wanted list to buy the parts:

If you need any more help just post on here

That is a very good and important question.

no?

Well I think this is just something "they don't like". I also mentioned Br*ckOwl
somewhere just to explain a point and it got removed or something like that
(don't recall clearly, but it was an issue).

It always makes me feel weird when Bricklink is being all "shhhh don't mention
to people that Br*ckOwl exists". I can only see that as Bricklink calling itself
a bad marketplace. It would make Bricklink look a lot better and professional
if they acknowledged AFOLs use different sites and tools at the same time and
didn't go all "shhh!".

Btw Mark I read your response on your page and I agree. It is not about "picking
a side" at all.

I can check the other parts if needed, the set is still built up in its box.

Please do. It may be a regional thing, since the inventory was submitted by someone
here in the States, and it was confirmed by someone here in the States (both
of them are recognized contributors to BrickLink). When I was checking some speed
builds on YouTube from people not in the States, I seemed to see some evidence
of the extra baby bows with cut corners.

Okay, I have checked the set and can confirm the extra slope and wedges, but
not the extra 1x2 plate.
Additional evidence: https://youtu.be/R6xVJdlFl6g?t=87

Beautiful, Jonas! Thanks! 😄

I can confirm the extra 1x2 plate was my mistake. Sorry!! 😓

Randy,

you are right, as there was previously no alternate part for the whites, it does
not make sense to add white 3794b as alternate.

Thanks

But you said *all* of your sets came with *all* white 3794a. If they *all* came

ask to add any white 3794b as alternates? It doesn't make sense. There is
no established white 3794a or 3794b in the set, just one undetermined entry that

add my findings as regular ones and fully skip the alternate ones.

I was confused on this. I can see when I reread your post that you were presenting
a series of different possibilities, instead of one idea backed up by three facts
as I originally read your post. So ignore what I said here.

No, the contents of your set are not true and original. Your statements are
self-contradictory.

It took me significant efforts to buy these two sets from overseas, convince
the seller to ship them and buy for him a shipping label. It also took me few
hours to check the contents of the two sets and find the differences with the
inventory on BL. I did them for these two sets because it is very hard to find
them in new condition.
Overall I considered all possibilities and so I believe that the contents are
new and original.
I am not sure why you undermine my efforts by giving a one-line proposition that
the contents of my sets are not true and original. Have you seen any photos of
them? The majority of parts in one set are in sealed bags. Based on what facts
did you decide that the content is not true and original?

Randy,

I am not sure what you mean by "symmetry" so I studies all the symmetries of
this car. See photo attached.
The reflection along the yellow line is one symmetry, but we can surely assume
that there is no preference between the front and back of this car so we get
a reflection along the red line. Overall, the group of symmetries of this car
has four elements and its group structure is
Z/2Z + Z/2Z
This group is not cyclic and depending on the symetry we choose, we can get four
different answers.

Sorry, I know my presentation is too simple and is not at the level of complexity
of your question but this is the best I could do.

Cheers,
Reza

That is a very good and important question.

I am curious now. Is this allowed? Because the links were not directly shared

It depends on the distance and it depends on how you define the distance. I have
two definitions at hand:
Definition one: the distance between two websites is the minimum number of clicks
required to go from one website to the other.
In this case, this distance would be three: first click on the link that he
provided. The second click would be on "fup", and the third would be on one of
his images.

Definition two: 1+ "the minimum number of websites required to be visited"
Based on this definition, the distance would be 2 because one only need to visit
mfav's website to get from here to the other website.

Bricklink follows the first definition. The rule that they follow on Bricklink
depends on the other website:

For Ebay, the distance cannot be more than 25018 otherwise the thread will be
cancelled.

For BO, the distance cannot be more than 888102 otherwise the thread will be
cancelled.
For Lego.com, the distance could me more than 99999999 for threads posted before
December 2019. Since December 2019, the distance is allowed, sorry, it is encouraged
to be one.

1600 Parts, 2010

Comments from Submitter:
From 3 sealed sets, the red part was 3794b, during the white part was 3794b. The undertermined version is not required here anymore.

I am sorry if I am still confused by your statements, but can I ask you to just
answer these questions with a 'yes' or 'no'?

Did you find any 3794a in red in any of the three sets you parted
out?

Did you find any 3794b in red in any of the three sets you parted

Did you find any 3794a in white in any of the three sets you parted

Your closeup pictures come out amazingly detailed.

Hopefully not for long. But perhaps I can shed some insight as I have a background
as a photographer/videographer.

I can't say what camera, but for pictures like this a macro lens is required
to get close in shots with tiny objects like Lego. If Mark is using a DSLR of
some kind or comparable then shooting uncompressed photos will retain sharper
images.

I can't say what filters Mark used, but a polarizer filter can help greatly
with reducing reflective / semi-reflective surfaces like Lego.

And Mark is most likely using a light box of some sort or using white surfaces
of some kind to bounce the light for even lighting/softer shadowing.

Hopefully Mark will be back to elaborate but hopefully this information is helpful
in the meantime.

8163-1 (Inv) Blue Sprinter
110 Parts, 2009
Sets: Racers: Power Racers

* Delete 4 Part 58090 Black Tire 30.4 x 14 VR Solid

Comments from Submitter:
Set 8163 should include tires 30.4 x 14, but without the VR designation. The wheel (345837) does not work with the 30.4 x 14 VR tire (345841). The VR tire is slightly larger on the inside. I could not locate the correct tire without the VR designation on the Bricklink site. I took a picture if you want it for verification.

I bought one complete set (372824) and it was correct, but the extra tire I bought included the VR. That's how I discovered the problem.
MJ

This set has the correct tires in it. Although, the name of the tire is misleading
since the 58090 tire does not have the "VR" designation molded on it. I will
submit a change request to have the name of the tire updated.

Cheers,
Randy

I really appreciate the work you are doing to collectively identify, organize,
and call reference to all of these clips. I don't think BrickLink will ever
have a need to recognize so many variations, but your resource is without a doubt
a huge benefit to all AFOLs. Very nice work, Mark.

randyf, the part is definitely made up of 3 separate parts (1 of the main chassis,
and 2 of the modified 2X2 plates.) Each of the 3 parts has a molded part number
that you can see on the underside.

What I meant to say was that the part comes as one complete unit in the sets
directly from LEGO and is counted as one part by LEGO. There is no need to assemble
it, and it is not meant to be disassembled. I was rushing through messages before,
so I didn't explain it well enough.

Good find! It looks like bag #2 comes with the red chassis that already has

I’m curious though, why do all of the active links on your fup page, link
to Law’s site, Brick Owl?

That is a very good and important question.

I am curious now. Is this allowed? Because the links were not directly shared
of BO but overall this seems like a conflict on interest with the TOS? Yeah,
no?

I am not sure how far I will go into this set tonight because I have another one on the way and will want to sort them together. But I was taking pictures of opening the set and these pieces were the only ones you can examine because the bags are opaque.

Ribbed hoses are always a little variable, but these are pretty close on 12L and only exist in this color in this set. I also compared to some purple 12L I have too and these are 1 rib longer.

The instruction book shows 29L. I got 28L as shown.

The note was written by an Inventories Admin years ago. I don't think leaving

set was changed before the first production run as the box art shows it.
By the way, my neat used copy also confirm this. I think this inventory request
should be accepted and it is correct. If one day, somebody finds a reliable evidence
that this set came with the light gray plates shown in the instructions, then
we can switch this back (but I doubt)
If you need a high quality photo of the box, let me know.

I have looked at photos of used sets and did not find any with the 6x14 plate.
At least none where the photo quality was good enough to recognize the individual
plates. Some photos where very low quality so I could not determine which plates
were used in those sets.

Could someone update the note on the inventory? It doesn't make sense any
more because there are no bricks with match ID 1.

Anyway, I remember clearly that two of my childhood sets came with other bricks
than the instructions showed. One was this set and it were indeed the light gray
roof plates in question.

BTW - the other set was 928, that also had a different LG plate, but I can't
find anyone that has been able to confirm this in other sets than mine.

We wouldn't consider it another version of the set, though, unless we could

I was confused on this. I can see when I reread your post that you were presenting
a series of different possibilities, instead of one idea backed up by three facts
as I originally read your post. So ignore what I said here.

Obviously I meant 1045-2. You certainly realized I meant 1045-2 and this was
nothing but a typo

No, I genuinely didn't realize that you made this error. You referred to
Set 1050 six different times, interchanged with references to Set 1045, and I
read the post as you wrote it.

However, to move beyond confusion and typographical errors to address the primary
question you asked: should you submit an inventory or inventory change requests
for these sets? I would say submit whatever you're certain of. Educational
sets are a little different from other sets, but the same basic inventory principles
apply.

with the plates exist in two versions: 12622.dat in one colour and 12622p01.dat
with LBG plates.

Are those some sort of rivets?
Or do they use a special technique to connect the plates?

I feel like the axles are going to snap off of the 2X2 plates if I pull any herder
than I already am. Also, I've never seen a post with a tapered part at the
end like the chassis piece has. It seems a bit like those Bionicle brains and
heads.

The pin that holds them on clips through and then can't be reversed - see

That's the same as what I have, except in different colors. Do you know
if they come already assembled in the box? (The one I have is from a used lot.)

randyf, the part is definitely made up of 3 separate parts (1 of the main chassis,
and 2 of the modified 2X2 plates.) Each of the 3 parts has a molded part number
that you can see on the underside.

David

This set review has both the red and LBG holders:

The whole vehicle base is one part. Nothing on it is meant to come off.
