I'm not entirely convinced that violence is the solution to this problem.
However, I agree that there could be improvements on the definition and classification
of gear, books, and sets.

P.S. The box shown in the pictures is dated 1981, as the 1981 mini train catalogue
confirms.

Elias is right, 7860 came out at least at first (1980-1981) with 3242a, then
it was replaced with 3242d, and finally at the end of the eighties with 3242b.
Take a look at the attached pictures, in particular the front and back of the
box.

Or this one:

The box was given it's own gear item number instead

[g=852293stor]

Also... it just boggles my mind that an item with 2,292 LEGO pieces is classified
as gear and not a set. Whoever thought that was a good idea needs a good, swift
backhand.

Well at least it says "set" in the title and it is not described as a "chess
gear"...perhaps they were hedging

I don't see any purpose to changing this to a streamlined version.

The graphics are big, but how big do they need to be to see orders pending, orders

I would like to be able to x out certain displays, ie the feedback.

I don't understand the purpose of the change? is it to enable mobile? because
a phone app seems vital.

Aside from that, if working from my PC, I like the current set up and don't
see why change to the new would be mandatory.

There seems little point to telling people to complain to help desk or make constructive
criticism there as it fails to get a feeling from community.

Note also, I am making PRAISE: the current myBL page works.

I find much of the old one completely unnecessary, especially everything in the
lower half of the page. Nearly everything in the site map is unneccessary for
the MY BL page - it isn't about me. I'd prefer a cleaner page with a
single link to the site map for those that want to access it, rather than everything
in the site map on the MY page. After all a lot of that stuff is not about ME.
For example, the catalog section is not about ME and it is all accessible from
the SHOP tab. Same with stores. The forum stuff is accessible through the COMMUNITY
tab and so on and so on. Very little of that information is actually about me,
my store and my orders. It doesn't need to clutter a page about me, especially
if all of it is available within the menus.

There are so many links close together in the site map that they are next to
impossible to click on and get right first time if you are on a tablet or
worse on a smartphone. I'd much prefer an icon based screen with clickable
pictures rather than text links, even on a PC. I hope it is not just the My BL
that gets updated like this, but all pages.

I bought 9 of this book a few weeks ago and all had the light bluish gray part instead of the dark bluish gray part.

10225-1 (Inv) R2-D2 - UCS
2123 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 2012

* Change {42 to 44} Part White 3024 Plate 1 x 1

Comments from Submitter:
Based on my building of this set, it uses all 44 white 1x1 plates. Also, the instructions (which doesn't normally list extra parts) lists 44 as well.

believe this should be prominent.

And the "How do I find Items?" page is not what I'm thinking about. Maybe
a short youtube video explaining where the numbers are on Lego pieces, what they
mean and how to look for pieces you don't actually have. ie set inventories.

Thanks for considering,

Tyson.

Below each page are the Helppages.

Wilbo, did you click on the link and read the page? It's not very useful,
especially for a new user.

Did you click the correct link, as it provides a buying tutorial explaining step
by step the process:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=10

My point was it should be more prominent than what
it is currently and more helpful. Which Jennifer has pointed out is in progress.
I hope when the video is done it is front and center on the main page, not buried.
The main page I believe would be used by new users most. I don't think very
many return users use it, but that may be a bad assumption on my part.

  Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you to Teup for writing this post. I've heard from many
other users about this and since we certainly have no intention of "killing"
the European market, nor do we want any users to feel marginalized, we've
decided to allow IBAN for new sellers again.

Here's how it will work:

-New sellers who have not upgraded from a buyer in good standing† will need to
go through the verification process to open their store and will also need to
request IBAN permission.

-New sellers who have upgraded from a buyer account in good standing will need
to contact the help desk to request IBAN payment.

†"Buyer account in good standing" = Has had an active account for 100 days and
has received positive feedback from 5 different legitimate sellers.

***All new sellers will be required to have at least one onsite payment method
available in their store in order to accept IBAN**

I'll be updating the help topic for onsite/offsite payment methods and will
mention this on the new seller verification page as well. If anyone would like
to request IBAN for their store, please send me a direct message.

Thanks!

Great news.
Thanks Bricklink for allowing it again for new sellers.

Offsite Payment - No longer available for new users as of June 8, 2017.
To cover various payment options, BrickLink also provides Offsite Payment Methods.
Please note that BrickLink cannot provide any transaction related support for
the Offsite Payment Methods listed below. All responsibility for Offsite Payments
is solely upon buyer and seller.

I'm lost for words. Does Bricklink really want to kill the European market
or something? In my real life I don't even know anyone with PayPal (or a
Credit card). In the NL €20,000,000,000 is spent in webshops per year, and almost
all of these transactions are bank transfers. Almost no-one that I know will
consider PayPal, certainly not since it costs money while bank tranfers are free.

IBAN has really become simple in use; Transactions are free, fast, and bank account
numbers have been standardised to IBAN recently. Interfaces for bank transfers
(such as iDeal in the NL) are thriving more than ever and are the undisputed
standard.

And now Bricklink is moving in the opposite direction.

They will lose the Dutch market, which is the 4th largest country on the platform
in terms of store count. Bricklink always seemed a bit America First but this
decision right here really changes my opinion of Bricklink. I personally will
survive since it doesn't affect existing stores and I will move more of my
business over to BO which does support bank transfers. But they will certainly
scare away lots of potential customers here, and for new sellers this is crazy
unfair. This is either a huge mistake or Bricklink just isn't interested
in the European market..

Please support my suggestion to re-enable IBAN/Bank transfer, also if you don't
use it. For an accessable and thriving site that benefits all of us, and a site
that is fair to everyone.. it's really in all of our interest if you want
Bricklink to be #1..

Hi Jaclyn,

Thank you so much for your feedback on this and most of all for the decision
to reenable it! I am very glad to hear this, not that it "affects" me in the
immediate sense but I feel much more comfortable about the future of Bricklink
now. Great news for alot of (future) Bricklinkers! Happy to run my business here

Cheers,
