Dear BrickLink members,

Since we announced the BrickLink Designer Program back in December 2020, we have been very busy behind the scenes. Today, we are so happy to finally be ready to kick off the program and to start sharing with all of you.

The BrickLink Designer Program: 2021 Invitational is officially kicked off!

What has happened since December?

A total of 31 designs have been selected, and the LEGO Ideas 10K Club designers have been onboarded to the program.

Right now, the designers are working on the digital render of their projects, revising their designs to meet the program requirements in order to pass test building before May 31st.

Meet the LEGO Ideas 10K Club Projects in pre-production

Visit the BrickLink Designer Program landing page for your chance to see all the projects that have been entered into the program, and to follow the progress of your favorite designs from digital modeling to test building and ready for production.

Time to start the count down!

On the landing page, you can find the overall timeline for the program as well as an FAQ page that can hopefully assist you with answers to your questions. The BrickLink team will also be available to answer your questions below this post.

Follow BrickLink on Social media for more program updates!

Thank you,
The BrickLink Team

Dear BrickLink members,

Back in 2018, we launched a pilot program with the LEGO Group to celebrate 60 years of the LEGO® brick and help realize unique fan designs with original themes. Thirteen fan designs were successfully crowdfunded through the pilot, and we have received many questions about its potential return since then. Is there going to be a second iteration? If so, when? You won’t have to wait much longer because we can happily reveal that the Designer Program will make its return in 2021!

Are there any changes to the program?

While the core part of the program remains unchanged, there is one important difference. According to a recent survey, an overwhelming number of you showed enthusiasm and support in leveraging the Designer Program to realize LEGO Ideas fan designs that were not selected for production (see chart below).

Above: Percentage of approval or disapproval of realizing LEGO Ideas projects not produced

Above: Direct quotes related to realizing LEGO Ideas projects not produced

With this information, we decided to officially move forward with realizing designs from LEGO Ideas that many of you already appreciate. We will work closely with the LEGO Ideas team to bring as many great designs into the world as possible!

Who will be invited?

Select designers whose project(s) acquired 10,000 votes on LEGO Ideas, but were not approved for production, will be invited to participate in this Designer Program. Unfortunately, IP-based designs will not be eligible for the Designer Program, in addition to a few other projects that we know we unfortunately can’t realize. The LEGO Ideas team will first contact the designers from January, and then the BrickLink team will proceed with the onboarding process for participating designers.

What will happen to the original AFOL Designer Program?

We understand that there are some AFOL designers and fans who anticipated a new intake of original projects. Our intention is to host annual Designer Programs that best reflect voices of the AFOL communities. Depending on preferences, we may return to the original format of the open contest in 2022. But rest assure, that no matter how designs are submitted to the program, we will continue to celebrate fan creativity by realizing your dream sets through crowdfunding.

When can I get more information?

The official program title and detailed timeline have yet to be confirmed, but you can expect to get more information in early 2021. At the same time, we will also unveil all participating designers and their projects.

We are pleased to continue this journey with you! Thank you again for contributing to the success of the 2018 pilot and for your ever-growing support of fan designs. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to browse the Studio Gallery page to view more designs created by members of the AFOL community.

Stay vigilant and happy holidays!

Help us bring joy to one million kids around the world! We are excited to be a part of the LEGO® Build to Give event where we encourage our fans to share their creativity and love toward the community by designing their own holiday ornaments. Your ornament design can be shared in the BrickLink Studio Gallery and any social media with #buildtogive and #bricklinkstudio. For every ornament submitted, the LEGO Group will donate a LEGO set to a child in need of play. Up to 1 million sets will be donated!

There are no submission criteria for your design; anything and everything is considered an ornament. Just be creative and share your love! Donations will be triggered based on individual builder’s social media post with #buildtogive and #bricklinkstudio.

Instructions

Start by designing any ornament using Studio.
Again, there is no size limit nor restrictions - feel free to use any parts to your liking.

Once ready, you may generate a rendering of your design with Studio’s built-in rendering engine. Feel free to play around with the settings to find the optimal render result for your design. Below are some recommended settings we have prepared for your convenience:
Image Size: 1080 x 1080 (1:1)
Render Quality: Very High
Background & Light: Use “Build to Give Preset” with a background color of your choice

To adjust viewing angle of your design, simply use the Camera Setup tab. Take some time with all the different angles and zoom scales you can use and once ready, initiate the render!

To make a gallery posting with your design, please click the “Upload to MyStudio” button on the top right corner of the screen. Simply follow the prompts from there, enter title and description, and don’t forget to choose the ‘Build to Give’ category! Top-rated designs will be featured on our special digital tree page on a weekly basis.

Lastly, post the rendering of your model on any social media of your choice with both #buildtogive and #bricklinkstudio tags. This will help us keep track of all your creations and will be used to trigger the donations!

Dear members,

What a momentous day it is for everyone here at BrickLink and in this community because on this very day 20 years ago, BrickLink went live. The site, created by Dan Jezek, became the place to meet others who shared the same passion for the colorful bricks and the build itself.

To help us kick off the 20 Days of BrickLink event, Dan Jezek’s mother and former CEO of BrickLink has written a thoughtful message addressing the community:

This month we mark the 20th Anniversary of the founding of BrickLink. Larry Hawthorne and I want to join all of you in virtually celebrating this wonderful milestone. As it were, we find ourselves in Honolulu, Hawaii, where we have remained since the COVID-19 pandemic expanded in early March. How appropriate it is that we are here in the same location where Dan launched BrickLink (then BrickBay) on June 19, 2000. I have provided a brief video message inviting you to share with me some personal remembrances from the time Dan spent putting BrickLink together, building it from scratch.

I can only stress that if Dan were alive today, I know he would be so proud and grateful to you for making his dream, BrickLink, come true. Without you, none of this would be possible. Please think of Dan on the 20th anniversary of BrickLink on June 19th, and on what would have been his 43rd birthday, June 25th.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for an absolutely awesome 20 years of BrickLink!

Eliska and Larry

danjezek.com

So much has happened between then and now that has allowed us to grow and evolve. With this milestone, let us celebrate together and not only look back on how far we have all come, but also look forward to what the future holds.

20 Days of BrickLink event

This event will also focus on BrickLink’s history and future and how the community played a part in its success. It will also be a space where we can share original stories, content, etc. with each other. The first week of the event is dedicated to the first 10 years of BrickLink, the second week dedicated to years 11-15, the third week focuses on events leading up to the present, and the last week focuses on the future. The 20 Days of BrickLink event will begin on Monday, June 22nd, and it will run until Friday, July 17th (excluding weekends).

Every week, we will cover a topic for each weekday:

About – On Mondays, we will share a general post about the week’s theme. There are four themes altogether: how it all started, what made a difference, where things are today, and what’s next.

Spotlight – On Tuesdays, we will be putting the spotlight on members of the community for contributing to or having an impact on BrickLink in some way.

Your Stories – On Wednesdays, members who shared their BrickLink moment story with us will be posted here. If you’d like to submit your own story, please go to the submissions page. If you have a MOC that represents the 20th anniversary, add the tag 20 Days of BrickLink to your MOC details so that other members can easily find it in the Studio Gallery.

From the Team – On Thursdays, members from our team will share a story related to the week’s theme.

BrickLink Challenge – On Fridays, we thought we’d make things a little more interesting with some challenges! Questions will be multiple-choice or open-ended, and depending on the challenge, you will be timed. Some answers may even be in previous posts

Join us on Monday, June 22nd for Day 1 of 20 Days of BrickLink,! We hope that you all will enjoy this special event.

Thank you,

The BrickLink Team

Dear BrickLink community,

On June 19th of this year, we will mark the 20th anniversary of the creation of BrickLink.

Dan Jezek dedicated his life to creating a platform where all LEGO® fans could find the special bricks that they needed. This platform bridged their dream creation to the missing pieces, and the platform is what you know today as BrickLink. BrickLink became the place to meet others who share the same passion for the colorful bricks and the build itself.

We grew, we evolved, and we are proud of the accomplishments we have made thus far. But as confident as we are in the future, we recognize that BrickLink will not be what it is today without this community. We formally thank you for your trust and support all these years. We would like to express our gratitude for you and members of the community for choosing BrickLink as your main source for LEGO elements and sets.

How are we celebrating?

We are celebrating by hosting a 20 Days of BrickLink event to highlight milestones and members from the past and present while looking toward the future. We invite you to share your story about any of the following:

Coming across BrickLink – Kindly share your story about how you came across BrickLink, and how it has changed your interest in LEGO elements and sets.

Finding friendship – Please tell us about a time you found friendship on BrickLink, highlight the moment you interacted with them, and how you met in real life (if applicable).

Buyer/seller story – Everyone has a favorite BrickLink seller/buyer story. Can you share with us what your favorite story is?

Hopes for future BrickLink – What hopes do you have for BrickLink in the near future?

You will be able to include a photo or video to further illustrate your story, and you can make a submission starting today. If you have more than one story to share with the community, we encourage you to share it!

Prefer to upload a MOC instead? Go to My Studio, proceed to edit your MOC’s details, then add the tag 20 Years of BrickLink so that other members can easily find it.

Where can I find more information?

An announcement with a general daily schedule will be posted on Friday, June 19th. Stay tuned, and stay connected with us on Facebook or Instagram.

We look forward to reading your story!

Thank you,

The BrickLink Team

Dear BrickLink Community,

We want to thank you for the great feedback you shared with us regarding the beta release of BrickLink XP. As a BrickLink member kindly mentioned, a beta release offers a chance to root out bugs before adding more features. With the many concrete examples and concerns you shared here, we are in a much better position to progress with a solution that generates added value. BrickLink is very important to all of you, and for many of you, it provides stability and contributes to your livelihood. We understand how much change can affect these things, so we want BrickLink to be a platform that works better for you.

After going through your comments one by one, we feel that the true meaning of BrickLink XP’s beta launch was not fully delivered in the announcement message. Consequently, we want to follow up to clarify and address your questions and concerns. Kindly bear in mind as you read through the FAQs that BrickLink XP is a platform in its early stages, and we are already making adjustments to reflect some of your feedback.

FAQ

Will BrickLink XP replace the current version of BrickLink (Classic)?

BrickLink XP and Classic will co-exist. We do not intend to replace the current version with BrickLink XP. BrickLink XP is a complete overhaul project to improve the performance of the decade-old software platform while streamlining the user experience for both mobile and desktop. We will continue to add more features and design BrickLink XP based on your feedback and your feedback only. In other words, you can decide which version you prefer to use.

What is the end goal of BrickLink XP?

It’s our mission to lower the entry barriers for all LEGO fans and provide tools to empower your creativity. BrickLink XP has two main goals aligned with this mission: provide a responsive, mobile-friendly version of BrickLink without sacrificing key features or information, and to help new users easily become advanced users. This phase is just the first step toward realizing the mission, and we will continue to move forward until we meet and exceed your expectations.

Where are all the features that I use on Classic?

BrickLink XP was launched in its beta phase with basic features only. We plan to add almost all the essential features from Classic to XP, including advanced store filters and Price Guide. BrickLink XP is a complete redesign, rewritten to be responsive and highly performant. It will take some time for us to develop and test, and we want to make sure it is done right.

How do I view a store’s inventory?

The storefront feature is on the roadmap to be added to BrickLink XP in the future, and we made the storefront one of the highest priority features after receiving your feedback.

Why was BrickLink XP launched in its current state?

We launched BrickLink XP in beta and only announced its release in the forum because we wanted to prioritize our future roadmap based on your opinions and feedback. We did not do external marketing for this beta launch so that we can reflect our seasoned members’ opinions first. We have read every single feedback and deeply appreciate all of your passionate participation.

Why was the catalog structure changed?

We approached the catalog structure from the perspective of a LEGO fan coming out of their dark ages and trying to find something based on visuals alone. A user in this position may not know the name of every piece or remember the name of a theme. We are re-evaluating the new catalog structure to find ways to make it more acceptable to advanced members as well.

Why is my store not shown on BrickLink XP?

Currently, BrickLink XP only displays stores that have Onsite payment enabled. Instant Checkout is also strongly encouraged. Your store will not be displayed if it does not support either of these features. If your store supports Onsite payment and is not shown by default, your store is likely listed in the Domestic or International “All listings” page. On Classic, your store will be displayed as usual.

How does BrickLink XP determine the suggested store?

BrickLink XP adopts a holistic algorithm to determine the store that is displayed by default on the product detail page. This algorithm is based on the item price, quantity, condition, stores already in the cart, estimated shipping cost, and feedback ratings. However, after reading all your feedback, we are determined to preserve the Classic store listings style you all know and love by allowing you to more thoroughly compare stores and retain control over your buying experience. You can expect updates in this area in the future.

To continue to learn from the beta release of BrickLink XP, please continue posting comments and concerns, as well as observations about the features that you like and work well for you. We will keep reading your comments, and we will keep updating the FAQ as we go along. Again, thank you for participating and providing feedback for this beta phase.

Thank you,
BrickLink Team

Dear BrickLink members,

If you have been with BrickLink for a long time, there is no doubt that you have heard about BrickLink XP from us or the community. The goal of BrickLink XP was to deliver an easier and more streamlined shopping experience and to be mobile-friendly with a responsive interface. Today, you will be able to experience the redesign with the beta release of BrickLink XP.

What is BrickLink XP?

BrickLink XP is our vision for the future of BrickLink where the platform is approachable to everyone, and that begins with people coming out of their dark ages and trying to purchase something to rekindle that fire. This is why the redesign in this beta phase focuses on the buyer's experience.

To accomplish these goals, we did the following:

* Redesigned the BrickLink platform so that BrickLink can be used on any browser, whether it is a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone.
* Updated the interface to help users find what they're looking for with visual cues, rather than small text and lists.
* Re-mapped the entire catalog in a way that is more logical to new users.
* Built a smarter search to help take some of the work out of finding what you need.
* Improved checkout and order management process to increase ease of use and problem resolution

In addition, buying items on BrickLink XP is more streamlined. On the new item detail page, the best store is automatically suggested for you by taking many factors into consideration. You can still view the list of stores with that item for sale if the suggested store does not meet your requirements. Please keep in mind that these are real listings from real stores; if you make a purchase on BrickLink XP, it is a real purchase and you are obligated to send payment.

BrickLink XP currently only works with stores that support Onsite Payment. If your store does not support Onsite Payment, we recommend that you set it up to get the most out of our new platform.

How do I give feedback?

During the beta phase of BrickLink XP, we would love to hear from you about your experience. On the bottom left of every page is a white “Give feedback” button (or a circular button with an email icon if you're on a mobile device) that will allow you to submit bug reports, feature requests, or just general feedback. We may not follow up with every submission, but we are actively monitoring them all.

What’s next?

This is just the beginning. We already have improvements planned for BrickLink XP that will begin development alongside the beta phase. We also plan to extend our new design methodologies and forward-thinking into the sellers’ space with Seller Tools this year.

While BrickLink XP is in the beta phase, it will run alongside the current Classic version. The plan is for it to eventually replace BrickLink Classic once the new platform is feature complete. This will all happen over a long period of time to allow our members to adjust to the new platform.

We are enthusiastic about BrickLink XP and look forward to bringing visual and functional updates to make everyone’s experience on BrickLink an enjoyable one.

Take a deep breath and visit BrickLink XP.

Thank you,
BrickLink Team

Please do add your questions in the thread below*. We will update the LEGO FAQ on an ongoing basis with your most top-of-mind questions, until the closing of the AMA on 31st January 2020 at 9AM EST.

We remain committed to creating the best possible platform and experience for Adult LEGO enthusiasts whether you are a seller, buyer, a designer, or any combination of the three!

We wanted to share with you a quick update on a few things that have been happening here during the past few weeks. It’s been an exciting and busy time. We have been thinking hard about how we could tackle many of the issues you’ve raised and are pleased to share with you some of the developments you could expect to see in the future.

We will invest in upgrading the site user experience, stability and security. More updates are planned during the year and will be shared once we know more.

The BrickLink Catalog is here to stay, and we are working to secure additional data that are relevant and needed by our Catalog admins.

Regarding the marketplace, seller fees will remain unchanged.

For our building community, we will continue to develop and evolve Studio.

We plan to introduce a new program for our volunteers called the Community Expert Program. This will recognize and provide support for everyone who contributes time and effort to make BrickLink truly useful for our community. More details in early 2020.

We are also working on other exciting projects. Stay tuned!

We’ve been overwhelmed by the number of comments we received in the past few weeks and would like for you to continue providing your feedback. Please keep the questions coming, and we will continue to update the transition FAQs. If you have suggestions about what you want to see from BrickLink in the future, do not hesitate to post them in the comments section below.

Starting today, you will be prompted with a pop-up asking you to accept an updated Terms of Service agreement and Privacy Policy.

Data protection and privacy is an important topic for all of us, and we are committed to spending the time and resources necessary to do the job right. The new privacy policy we’ve asked you to consent to will ensure your data is protected and that we’re complying with the most rigorous regulations. Your personal data will stay within BrickLink and will not be shared with any other entities without adhering to standard data privacy requirements, such as informing you.

The Terms of Service is largely similar to the previous terms, but we found that a few points in particular needed to be updated. Some of these relate to brand protection and intellectual property rights. The new policy on custom items will impact only a very small percentage of the current items listed for sale, and we want to reassure you that we remain fully committed to encouraging creative freedom and protecting the independence of BrickLink. To that end, we have decided to allow listings of certain items that we feel are particularly important to the fan community.

So, BrickLink won’t change much in the short-term. But as we move forward, we truly believe we have a fantastic future ahead of us and can’t wait to share the journey with you all.

Dear BrickLink members,

We are extremely excited to announce that BrickLink Limited has entered into a definitive purchase agreement to be acquired by the LEGO Group. As the LEGO Group has announced today through its official press release, the transaction is expected to close by the end of 2019.

About 6 years ago when Jay took over BrickLink from Dan’s family, Jay promised to keep Dan’s legacy and continue to strive for his original mission – to help AFOL communities thrive. Our team is deeply grateful for Jay’s generous investment and our vibrant community’s enthusiastic support that helped us keep the promise. BrickLink now has nearly 1.2 million community members after quadrupling the initial 300,000 members who began the journey with us back in 2013. It’s not just volume that has grown over time. The overall engagement level of the community is higher than ever thanks to our avid members with various roles including catalog contributors, volunteers, big and small sellers, MOC designers, and set/minifig collectors.

Along the way, we also set an ambitious company vision – to unlock the true potential of LEGO bricks with the power of global communities. We believe in the creative power of AFOL communities and wanted to harness it with BrickLink. That’s why we launched AFOL-powered platforms and tools, such as MOC Shop (2014), Stud.io (2016), Studio 2.0 (2018), and piloted the first AFOL Designer Program (2018-2019) in addition to improvements on marketplace features.

Collaborating with the LEGO Group for the AFOL Designer Program taught us how much the LEGO Group cares about AFOL communities and how deeply they respect all of the creations and cultural heritage of adult LEGO fans. When two companies have perfectly aligned visions while filling in the missing parts of each other, it’s not too difficult to imagine how the collaboration will go. Once the potential synergy turned into reality with the success of the first AFOL Designer Program, we had no doubt that we were ready to take the collaboration to the next level. The LEGO Group’s acquisition of BrickLink was the best possible choice for us to secure future collaboration opportunities for AFOL communities.

So, what does this acquisition mean to you? It’s too soon to tell what exactly will happen at this point, but the direction is clear. The LEGO Group shares our ambition to create the best possible platform / experience for adult fans.

We understand that you might have more questions about the details of future changes. Please refer to these FAQs, and feel free to leave comments on this post. We also welcome any suggestions or cool ideas for future collaboration projects.

Visit Frequently Asked Questions

We’ll keep you posted when we have follow-ups or major milestones to announce. So, please stay tuned.

Thanks,
BrickLink Team

I am super excited to share some big news with you today. The LEGO Group has reached an agreement to acquire BrickLink.

We have a few things to finalise and plan to complete the acquisition before the end of the year. You can read the official announcement HERE.

As many of you who follow the LEGO Group may know, we don’t traditionally make acquisitions. Over the years, we’ve grown the business organically, focussing on our core and working to reach more kids with LEGO® play.

But BrickLink is different. It has a special connection with the AFOL community and the opportunity was too good to miss. Why?

You’re important to us. BrickLink is one of the largest, independent communities of LEGO enthusiasts in the world. Our adult fans are incredibly important to us and we are serious about creating more great experiences together.

We want to collaborate more. You are awesome fans and we’re grateful for your support. Your creativity is awe-inspiring, as the recent AFOL Designer programme showed. We are keen to do even more, and this is a great platform from which to do that.

We see huge potential in BrickLink and we want to be part of its future. The BrickLink Studio offers fans a unique creative experience, while the marketplace is an important source of elements for your incredible builds. We recognise this and will continue to preserve and develop this aspect of the platform.

Thank you BrickLink team

I want to recognise everything Jay, Marvin, Russell and the BrickLink team has done over the past six years to make BrickLink what it is today. They have taken Dan’s incredible vision to the next level while staying true to his purpose of bringing fans together. BrickLink wouldn’t exist without Dan, and we can assure you, we will keep his original mission close to our hearts. I would also like to thank Eliska Jezkova for her support and we are pleased to announce that she will continue to be involved as a BrickLink Goodwill Ambassador.

BrickLink also wouldn’t exist without you – the loyal, dedicated, entrepreneurial and incredibly creative members, sellers and fans. Thank you for the support you’ve shown to BrickLink. We will do our best to honour your interests and passions.

We look forward to welcoming the BrickLink team to the LEGO Group and continuing to work to make the best possible platform and experience for you.

To help us do that, we want to hear your views. During the coming weeks, the team will host an AMA to help us understand more about what you want out of BrickLink. Stay tuned for details.

In case you missed it, BrickLink and the LEGO Group are celebrating 60 years of the LEGO brick with the AFOL community by realizing unique designs with truly original themes. We received over 400 submissions, and 16 finalists were chosen from 9 different countries. Starting today, you can pre-order designs from the AFOL Designer Program to help bring some incredibly creative designs to the market in a way never before possible.

How does crowdfunding work?

During this phase, you can pre-order your favorite designs to help them reach 100% funding. Once successfully funded, the design is packaged with instructions to become a limited edition 60 Years Anniversary set exclusively available on BrickLink. You may pre-order a maximum of 3 per design, and you also receive FREE SHIPPING. Free shipping applies to both domestic and international buyers and is available for pre-orders only.

Not sure or not ready to pre-order? Simply click on the bookmark icon ( ) and we’ll send you a reminder before pre-orders close.

What’s next?

If the design you backed is successfully funded, your payment method will be charged the full amount after April 15, 2019. If the design is not successfully funded, you will not be charged. We will begin shipping orders in May 2019.

To see all the finalists, visit the Crowd Project page.

Thank you,

The BrickLink Team

It feels like we only just announced the news of our collaboration with the LEGO Group, but here we are, with the submission phase of the AFOL Designer Program officially over. Thank you for your passion and commitment in creating unique designs with truly original themes! We are just blown away by all the entries we’ve received. We will be sharing fun tidbits from behind-the-scenes as we begin the selection process.

What happens during the design selection process?

The AFOL Designer Program team will hold an initial review for all submitted AFOL designs. Each submission that passes the initial review will undergo a feasibility test.  We will then make final selections before onboarding designers. You can view the current status of the design selection process on the AFOL Designer Program landing page.

When does crowdfunding begin?

We will announce selected AFOL designs before crowdfunding officially begins February 2019 so that you have a chance to think about which designs you want to support. Successfully crowdfunded designs will become a limited edition 60 Years Anniversary set exclusively available on BrickLink. More details about how crowdfunding works will be announced as the date gets closer.

Whether you submitted a design, participated in discussions surrounding the program, or are just plain excited about what’s to come, we thank you! We are honored to have your continued support and can’t wait to share our selections.

Happy Holidays!

-BrickLink Team

After we posted a teaser about the AFOL Designer Program, we closely monitored the conversation surrounding it. It was fun to read what you all thought this program would be. So what is it exactly? In case you missed it, BrickLink and the LEGO Group are celebrating 60 years of the LEGO® brick with the AFOL community by realizing unique designs with truly original themes. Through this program, your design can become a limited edition 60 Years Anniversary set!

How does the AFOL Designer Program work?

The program will have three main phases:

1. Accepting entries - To give you some time to think about what you’d like to design, we will begin accepting entries on September 18th until November 18th. Your designs will not be displayed publicly during this time. The LEGO design team will review your submissions made with Studio 2.0, and up to 20 finalists will be selected.
2. Crowdfunding - Selected designs will be announced and displayed for crowdfunding beginning February 2019. You will be able to pre-order designs at this time.
3. Release - Successfully crowdfunded designs will become a limited edition 60 Years Anniversary set exclusively available on BrickLink. We will begin shipping orders April 2019.

Why should I submit my designs?

Besides being able to share your designs with the AFOL community, designs that are selected for realization will also be reviewed and produced as limited edition box sets. On top of that, BrickLink will pay 10% of total sales revenue to designers for all successfully crowdfunded AFOL designs including pre-order. You will retain full IP rights for non-selected designs, meaning you can freely use your original designs for any other purpose after the event.

Even if you aren’t a designer, we’d still love everyone to get involved! You can share your design ideas with the AFOL community in the Studio 2.0 forum.

Ready to get started?

The AFOL Designer Program requires that your designs are submitted with Studio 2.0, which has improved functionality and new features for this program (new features will be available Sep 18th). A building palette made specifically for the AFOL Designer Program will be included so that you are able to focus more on the design itself. Next, check if your design is stable with the all-new stability check because we want to fall for designs, not have them fall apart. Then you can export breathtaking images and even create building instructions for your designs!

Go here for more details about design requirements or FAQs, or go here to download or learn more about Studio 2.0.

We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Thank you,

BrickLink Team
