  Hello,

The Bricklink administration removed one of my selling listings. The reason was
that the parts were listed in a non existent color.
The part was actually a genuine lego part, listed in the correct color. Only
was it never released in an official set, so it does not show up in the color
guide in any set. Is it no longer allowed to list such parts? As far as i know
this type of parts could be obtained in a legal way from a pick a brick wall.

Where they in a transparent color? If so it might be related to this post:

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1322014

If you have proof of purchase before listing again I would recommend contacting
the Help Desk.

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1465103

I wonder what would that proof could look like....
An invoice from PAB with a line 'prototype part'?

Can someone give an actual example of proof of purchase that would be accepted
by BL?

A rhetorical question more than anything but I'd love if someone entertained
me with an answer still. This is the same as discovering that something that
you bought at a grocery store has mold in it, but the store refusing a refund
because you did not save the receipt.

If such an imaginary proof existed even theoretically - fine. But otherwise -
owners of legitimate parts are getting slapped in the face once for having their
listing removed, and then getting laughed in their faces by 'show me a receipt
from 30 years ago, then we will allow you to list the item".

They have removed parts that are not in official (retail set) colours, especially
minifigure parts, where they have been made by "night shift" workers
that then steal and sell them. I imagine that possibly legitimate parts have
been caught up in this.

It would be great if this can be added.

I do actually dwell on this and the stress lines we're talking about in the

over fast enough for it to not be a problem, but it's why I started taking
photos of some of the bad bricks for a new section on my terms page.

Initially I did it to explain how I do my best to remove these while parting
out, but considering the high value sets I have parked in the stockroom for a
few years I feel like I need it to explain that things can be hit or miss.

It's not that important, just a little bit annoying.

All of these things were placeholders and had not been fully integrated yet.
However, now they have been.

- The color for Sienna was updated and it was relocated between Dark Nougat and
Fabuland Orange.

- The color for Umber was updated and it was relocated between Dark Brown and
Brown.

- Satin Trans-Yellow was relocated between Satin Trans-Brown and Satin Trans-Bright
Green.

  Hi

I recently sold a silver chrome 3001 which the buyer is not happy with saying
its an anniversary edition. Does anyone know of any specific variants?
I naively thought a silver chrome 3001 was a silver chrome 3001.
Cheers
Rob

They were all released in 1998–1999, so there shouldn't be much of a difference
if any among different chrome silver bricks apart from condition:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3001&colorID=22&in=A

The Chrome Gold one can look a lot more silverish than the chrome gold keychains,
I wonder if there's some confusion with that... otherwise I've no idea
what the buyer could mean.

These are my chrome silver "anniversary" bricks. Mould number 06 inside.

I don't understand which other chrome silver 3001 your buyer could have wanted.

I love your chrome silver bricks!
I can only assume it is an issue just like lightsabre hilts
New versus old colour data - yucky
Where are all the supposed data hounds
If your gold looks silver, you have failed in your duty of care requirements
That should also be a catalogued version

Silver Metallic (TLC color #315) = Flat Silver (BL color #95)

I'm not sure on the other one.

I saw the pending image for this part on BrickLink yesterday. It's absolutely
beautiful. I love how it kind of looks like the old Trans-Neon Yellow (157 Transparent
Fluorescent Yellow).

there is a noticeable difference, however there is nothing brown about this color

Once you compare them side by side, like the one shown in the link posted by
1001bricks, you can see that old trans brown is very accurate.

Jim

I have looked at them side by side, and I agree there is a difference, as previously
noted. I do not agree, however, that brown is an accurate description.

It is absolutely brown. Shine a light behind a part and look at the piece. Nothing
about it is black.

Just like there is nothing brown about old mud "grey"

LEGO's official name for the old color is Transparent Brown. I think Rylie's
comparison highlights how brown the old color really is in comparison:

  Hi!

I am having a small issue with a customer who claims te have recieved parts with
sun damage

He sent me pictures of what i believe are his own arches (or maybe other arches
out of the same order: i do not know) and the different "sun damaged"
parts picked out of the different lots/items

Since all parts have the same color on the inside and outside i suspect color
variations/inconsistencies from a parted out set (7094)

Trying to resolve the issue with the customer but i am wondering how yall are
handling this, also with the sand green, dark red, pearl gold and other color
inconsistencies, since it also seems to happen in modern new sets

Do you still opload the part?
Do you place a note on seperated lot?
Or ditch the parts in a bulk bin?

Thanks in advance!!!

An extremely noticeable distinction with sun damaged parts is that the sun damaged
part of the bricks are always the same color. If the buyer believes they are
sun damaged, they should be able to see the sides of the bricks that do not have
sun damage on them and send you photos of what the undamaged sides look like
next to the damaged sides, and the transition where the sun damaged side is visible
next to the undamaged sides. I have some old bricks that have sun damage on them
and they have it on sun damaged sides only and from the direction of the sunlight
that damaged them. The other sides of the brick are undamaged and retains the
brick's molded color.

Most common LEGO bricks that are not modified bricks have at least 6 sides. Some
sides should be free of sun damage if they are truly sun damaged.

They should send you photos of the undamaged side unless the color is consistent
over all sides. If it is consistent over all sides it is probably not sun damage,
but a differently colored brick.

Cheers ...

Yep, same here. They look like light gray in good shape, not sun-damaged LBG
(although sun-damaged LBG can look like LG).

Adding: and all those parts do come in light gray.
