| Bonjour
Hello...
Set 118-2 does NOT exist...that is a Samsonite set 111. I have often thought
of letting BL know this (there are more things wrong with some other Samsonite/North
American listings) but I have yet to do this.
Set 118-3 DOES exist but would have come in a brown box from Sears. I do not
have the box but I DO have the original instructions with my set.
FWIW...

I think I'm just banging my head against a wall.
I have regular communication with a nice buyer and collector. He wrote me:
Bonjour [name]. Avez vous deja vu les boites 118-2 et 118-3 ??? Merci [his
name]
I answered:
...
https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/kraft-lego-mini-wheel-set-dump-soda-1824610533
His response:
Bonjour [name]. Avez vous deja vu une boite occasion du 118-2 et 118-3 ??
Car moi jamais.
My response:
https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/kraft-lego-mini-wheel-set-dump-soda-1824610533
https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/kraft-lego-mini-wheel-set-dump-soda-1824610533
At this point, I am convinced either I did't explaing things properly or
I'm just banging my head against a wall.
Now, those who know French, please tell me if you were initially looking for
boxes of these two sets, what would you have understood from my responses and
if you would continue looking to find the boxes? What would you have answered
me after my two responses.
Once, a few of you French guys kindly reply to this, I write what his third message
was!

We have had 3 lost in the last 60 days. No trace after it reaches country arrival.
All 3, the tracking info stops at that point.

Yes, and USPS just shrugs and basically says it sucks to be you. No assistance
with anything, and though they state a service time of like fourteen days to
deliver, International packages cannot be considered lost until 60 days. Pay
more, get less, postal service is slipping fast into the toilet. Oh, DeJoy!

Two right now (today). UK and Belgium.

Confusing, as "they will not pay VAT" means they can't have received
the package.
So it can't be "arrived", or at least at destination.
Otherwise "lying"? One says it didn't arrive while tracking shows
it's delivered??
It's technically possible - it even happens to a delivery to me.
Will you let PayPal decide? Why not trying for at least an order?
Something's wrong as 10/80 is absolutely NOT normal for every seller I've
heard of.
Anyway - as you wish.

10/80???
Totally abnormal, far too high.
Count a couple per year here (on a thousand), same for local, no real difference.
Either in the way you pack/protect, make the stickers (addressing norms), document
(customs...) or the shipper, or the Country (South America is often problematic
from here).
|
We have changed nothing. Same way we always ship. Stamps.com, labels (so they
do not get caught up in the machines like some of our past issues), packed tight
so no "flaps". Just started awhile ago and every day we seem to get
another contact from an overseas saying something to the effect; "has not
arrived". There was another one yesterday I have yet to drop that to the
post office for another check (tomorrow probably). Seems to be a huge waste
of time. Next will be the Paypal asking for a full refund (which Paypal will
likely grant) after we send them the tracking, copies of the contact, etc..
Just frustrating.

My single oversea problem: The guy said the package (value $300) was lost, meaning
it was not in the post office indicated on the notice and tracking. He did not
communicate to me. The package got returned (destroyed) and I reply: Why didn't
you contact me on time so I contact the courier. Now there is nothing I can do
because the package is returned and will be destroyed. I cannot request refund
from the courier (a Canadian one) because the tracking says the package was not
collected by reciepant. His answer: no worries. This is not your fault. I just
wanted to inform you. I will request refund from our own post service and I did
not hear back from him as he did not want a refund anyway.
With what courier do you ship?

USPS. I did not count all of the overseas but I am going to guess that in that

Have you considered to ship with pirateships.com ? You may get a different result
(if they don't ship with USPS)

Which countries ? As I've had two things go missing from the US last 6 weeks.this
is to Australia and hasn't ever happened to me before.
I'm not sure if they are stuck at the border or actually made it Australia

| ***Communications in French***
I think I'm just banging my head against a wall.
I have regular communication with a nice buyer and collector. He wrote me:
Bonjour [name]. Avez vous deja vu les boites 118-2 et 118-3 ??? Merci [his
name]
I answered:
...
https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/kraft-lego-mini-wheel-set-dump-soda-1824610533
His response:
Bonjour [name]. Avez vous deja vu une boite occasion du 118-2 et 118-3 ??
Car moi jamais.
My response:
https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/kraft-lego-mini-wheel-set-dump-soda-1824610533
https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/kraft-lego-mini-wheel-set-dump-soda-1824610533
At this point, I am convinced either I did't explaing things properly or
I'm just banging my head against a wall.
Now, those who know French, please tell me if you were initially looking for
boxes of these two sets, what would you have understood from my responses and
if you would continue looking to find the boxes? What would you have answered
me after my two responses.
Once, a few of you French guys kindly reply to this, I write what his third message
was!

We have had 3 lost in the last 60 days. No trace after it reaches country arrival.
All 3, the tracking info stops at that point.

Does not mean not delivered. Just a lack of data input from overseas involved
entities.
My advise: factor DELCON service, assuming you're using USPS for these shipments
https://www.usps.com/international/first-class-package-international-service.htm#e-usps-delcon-intl
Sadly, one of the current realities that have motivated our moving to selling
domestic only. That said, if you're in this game to make a living (unlike
us) try to navigate the international shipping quagmire as best you can in being
as well informed as you can at this point in time. Things are shifting, iow.

I suggest to buy a labelprinter, for example a Dymo Letratag. This is what I
use to make my self adhesive labels.
Aditionally for certain parts I also glue the part itself to the drawer to make
it easier to identify the drawer visually when I'm parting out sets. Picture
shows.

Hi Jim, I use those very same Racco draws. I actually make my own labels from
cutting pieces of card to size and slotting them in but I don't need too
much labelling since as my example photo shows I usually label top draw by design
I.D with all the different colours of that design in the draws beneath. Where
the next label starts the next design begins
Obviously I have to handle more unique parts slightly differently and tend to
keep things together by theme. Worth pointing out that I mainly sell minifgs
and their associated parts/accessories.

| use a heat gun (or at least a hairdryer). Use flat tweezers or small flat nose
pliers to remove the stickers after you've heated them for a minute or so.
I've done it a few times, most the time if the stickers are still "sticky"
this works well.

I recently acquired a 7637 Farm that's mostly complete. Unfortunately, while
there are very few stickers in the set, it seems that most of them are either
misaligned so they overlap two bricks, or placed on the wrong brick.
The most serious cases are two of the cylinder quarters, which have the ends
of their stickers hanging off the edge of the brick by almost a full stud. The
adhesive backing seems to have attracted dust and lint. Fortunately, these are
the only stickers that have lost any stickiness.
The support crane stands have their stickers swapped - so the arrows are pointing
the wrong way. But luckily, these appear to be perfectly intact.
Is there any method that I can use to safely remove/clean/re-stick stickers?
Also, is it necessary or worthwhile to put some sort of sealer (Mod Podge, etc.)
over the top of stickers?

If seller is unresponsive, then file and complete a NRS.
If seller does not ship in a timely manner, you should file a NSS, and complete
it.
Leave appropriate feedback on the order.

There is no "max number of negative feedbacks" for any period of time.
But shop can be suspended or closed due to 3+ NSS completed, with or even without
a negative feedback received.
If you feel a shop isn't sane:
* put it in your Least Favorite list,
* if it seems a real problematic one, simply report it to BrickLink Administration,
they'll check if it sounds OK or not.

I think the title of your post should be: We no longer sell to countries outside
the UK
Good luck, you Brits voted for excommunication and this is what you got.
This may sound like gloating, but it is not intended that way.
Until Brexit, I bought a lot in England. Lego, but also a lot of books. That
has now become unaffordable.
I my own shop I also no longer sell to the UK, but I do sell to all countries
in the EU.
|
Obviously I can't speak for Stuart or anyone else but only just over 50%
voted Brexit and I suspect most of those that did are much less likely to be
the types that run businesses or routinely trade online using platforms like
Bricklink.
It seems the overall brexit voter was more interested in seeing improvements
to immigration control but in that regards it appears they didn't fair any
better!
Covid probably came at the perfect time for Brexiteers since it helped mask many
of the issues the UK was experiencing at the time? brexit issues got merged in
with covid issues and vice versa making it very difficult to truly scrutinize
the negative impacts brought on by brexit alone!
That said having already overcome the initial big hurdle of adjusting already
I think at this stage its simpler to accept that this is the way things are without
caring to do all that much looking back and I suspect many others feel the same
way irrespective of how they initially voted

Hope your sales go well.
I might have continued with selling beyond U.K. but I just don’t think it’s now
worth my time anymore, too many other things much more important.

It has to be 11033-1 because It is the only set I’ve parted so far. All my other
inventory has come from bulk used or a PAB wall.

Hands down. Now mind you, I only did 2 the first time around and it was maybe
my 8th or 9th set to part out. It completely filled our 12x5 dining room table
and I even needed to use the chairs.
However, it really helped me iron out a system for parting out too. Now, regardless
of what I'm parting out, I have a bit of muscle memory as to where bricks
go, plates go, tiles, modified bricks/plates/tiles, technics...
So last week I did multiple 5x counts of six star wars sets and some other random
GWP bags for about 1000 lots and I was beside myself at how I did it all in less
than 1/4 the time of 71741.

I’m not sure the search in your seller Inventory goes into the minifigs or sets’
inventories anyway.
You’d need to part them out first. (So, have them twice: once as a whole item,
and once as parts.)
Better use a third-party tool like BrickStore (application) or Rebrickable (website).
You may have to do it that way too (= have them twice) but at least it’s automatized
and, sadly, simpler than BL.
BrickStore can direclty import from/export to yor BL Wanted Lists. (Or you can
download and upload yourself if you don’t want to give it your password.)
Rebrickable should be able to do it too.
You too

| Thanks Sylvain, Wil and Mitch for your answers
export as xml works ; unfortunately it does not write the parts but only the
"name" of the whole figurine.
I would like to search for exemple part 970c105pb001 and the search engine will
answer "yes, you have 970c105pb001, it is in your minifig coltlbm15".
Become a seller is a good option to do that, but I want to search in my own collection
before buying parts probably missing.

Hi, if you use the search box at the top of the page, the drop down box on the
left that usually has All items shown as a default, if you click the down arrow
and second from the bottom it says store inventory, you can search your own inventory
using a part number.
Hope that helps
|
Unfortunately, that searches your Store inventory, when you’re a seller, not
the new, unfinished feature called “My Collection”

There's no search box. You can try searching by Control + F or export the

Oh, no, total misunderstanding. I wasn't inferring anything. I was more commenting
along the same lines. Over an hour's worth of interview questions and that
was the take-away from it. I started out in journalism so I should know better.
(But I have to keep reminding myself that public radio of 25+ years ago is not
the same as modern journalism.)

Overall, an interesting bit of journalism nonetheless. Though in keeping with
today’s journalism, fundamentally flawed premise, as usual.
Especially the approach TLG had/has to BrickLink and the overall secondary market

lackadaisical approach inevitably kicks-in, drawing from disgruntlement among
aftermarket sellers in lieu of digging deeper. That would of course take more

Key word for me "LIKELY".
How are we supposed to know for sure if a item was not released if no one can
put one up for sale?!?
So my request is that you allow sellers to sell the item, but only in the conditions
of sealed or new.
|
Some of these were released or more likely leaked. In fact I think MOST of
the sets in this category saw some level of distribution official or otherwise.
For example I have MSIB the Christmas set with Santa and Mrs. Clause that was
supposed to be a free give away a few years back. It as far as I know has no
official listing here or on lego.com. I brought this up in a forum post some
years ago and people got quite angry that I acquired an "illegal" set
and was told then that they would never allow a listing on BL since it was leaked
not released. Over the years I have found 3 such items that are in my collection:
1526 Space set in box opened
3872 Exo-Force in polybag MSIB
40489 Christmas Set MSIB (2X)
I also have set 6500 but it has no box...so I don't include it. The instructions
appear official but as of now I cannot confirm the authenticity entirely.
Additionally, many users have mentioned in the past seeing the unreleased cage
match for the original spider-man (1375) run as part of a TRU display back in
the day...although nobody I know has ever confirmed the set itself. The display
itself has come up for auction from time to time.
Lego and by extension BL seem to not want them listed in my experience. Probably
due to the ethical implications of them being leaked, smuggled or flat out stolen
from sources if a release was never made officially. Which I can understand.
