you may want to change this
"If you choose shippment without tracking they will be properly packed with
bubblewrap, but when sent they are sent at BUYERS risk. Seller is not responsible
for any damage that might occur during transportation. And since I am not able
to confirm the shipments arival there is NO refund if the shipment is lost in
transit."
and
"If you live outside EU or North America the only option will be shipping
at your own risk. This is because tracking is not avalible and I have no way
to monitor the package's location. No refunds if the package disapear or
gets stuck in customs."
in your terms as even if the package doesn't have tracking/insurance the
seller is still responsible for it
|
And especially while using PayPal
Whatever if the buyer or seller chose NOT to use tracking or registration, the
buyer will 99.99% win a claim if there's no tracking or registration used.
|
Hi! Could you tell me a bit more about what the term claim means in this situation?
Is it some internal process here on Bricklink for when a buyer/seller has a disagreement,
or is it a third-party thing?
|
It’s referring to a bank/paypal claim. If an order never arrives and the seller
dosnt refund the buyer then the buyer can file a claim with their bank or with
PayPal who will then refund the payment.
|
Ah ok, I understand. Has this ever happened to one of you guys? If one is unlucky
and a package gets lost in transit, is it right to just take the loss as a seller
if this situation occurs, or should one try to get PayPal to refund the payment?
|
Buyers filling claims is a rare situation. It’s something talked about a lot
yet rarely happens. I’ve only had 1 filled against me before which I won so I
wouldn’t worry about them that much. (And that is with 75%+ of all my orders
being shipped without tracking). So in general yes, if a buyer messages you saying
that the package hasn’t arrived and it’s been a reasonable amount of time since
it was sent (say a month/month and a half) then it’s best to just refund them
as a cost of doing business and move on. Pretty much all of those cases are legitimate
and not a scam and if you don’t refund they likely will file a claim which unless
you can prove it was delivered they will always win and then if the claim succeeds
you’ll often get an addition fee from PayPal of like $20 or something. Packages
getting lost isn’t to to rare itself, I’d say 1:500 to 1:1000 of mine never show
up to the buyer but most of them end up getting returned to me after a couple
months so I’d say maybe 1:2500+ seem to fully disappear off the face of the planet
so don’t worry it’s not like it’s a coin flip if you send someone an untracked
package
|
Alright, thank you for letting me know. This whole thing is something I never
would've considered. Appreciate such a comprehensive answer and that you

Glad I could help!
| I'm a little bit uncertain if my shipping is set up correctly. I've done
some research and watched a bunch of videos on it. I have all kinds of shipping
materials ready to go, but I'm unsure if the shipping is set up in a good
way for potential buyers. Is it possible for you to take a look at my shipping
terms, or could I get a few tips perhaps?
|
Some of it is a bit difficult to understand (image 1) but the shipping cost is
cheap, tho from my experience buying from Norway it looks a little to cheap (image
2) so you may want to double check some of the costs.
| And how long did it take before you made your first sale on Bricklink?
|
Since it’s been a while unfortunately I don’t remember tho it wasn’t to terribly
long I don’t think

The odd package will sometimes go missing or buyer falsely claims to go missing
but its very rare on Bricklink compared to other platforms.
Whilst it may be wise to insure high value orders I wouldn't be overly concerned
with regular orders because even if you are so unlucky to find 1 in every 10
orders goes missing (it will actually be far, far less than this)
If you do the maths and lets say each order averages $10 in value. 10 orders
= $100 in total sales revenue. One missing order drops that total sales revenue
down to $90 split across 10 orders = receiving around $9 per order instead of
$10 per order so in reality its not going to hurt you as much as you think.
Obviously I've not taken into consideration any actual profits/cost of stock
and any added costs to ship out replacements etc, etc... but the fact that we're
actually probably talking about less than 1 in 100 orders going missing more
than covers any losses you may incur
|
Alright, thank you very much for a really good explanation! Good to know that
it's such a rare occurrence.
Mind if I ask you how long it took before you got your first sale on Bricklink?

| Hi everyone.
I have built up a decent collection of Lego sets and miscellaneous parts over
the years. Figured I'd try opening a Bricklink store and see where this goes.
My store is based in Norway, but I'm selling domestically and internationally.
I estimate that I have somewhere around 50 000 parts, maybe more, and I'll
be aiming to upload some every day given the opportunity.
I would truly appreciate any feedback you might have for my store, whether it
be related to payment, shipping or other terms. Whatever crosses your minds.
Thank you in advance. Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Hi,
It is now showing $4.50 for the small letter plus the the handling fee, so $3.00
plus $1.50.
This is correct pricing when the letter rate goes up on April 3rd.
However, until then, you want to put it back down to the current rate, so $2.40
plus $1.50.
So put the pricing down to the current rate and then change up to this rate on
April 3rd.
Hopefully this makes sense.
I am happy to check again for you once you change it. Leave another message
in the forum.

| Hey,
Your small letter postage calculation seems incorrect. A small letter is $2.40,
plus you have a $1.50 packing fee. So should be $3.90 in total. When i added
1 minifigure to my cart it said a total of $3.70.
Also, note that letter shipping in Australia will be increasing to $3.00 for
a small letter in a couple of weeks, on April 3rd. A stamp will be going up
to $1.50 each.
Cheers

| welcome to bricklink!
I noticed you have
"Used: Parts and minifigures marked as used may have minimal wear. This may
include, but is not limited to: scratches, slight discoloration, dents, small
cracks etc."
but if your used item has cracks you should always say so in the individual item
description.
also you have
"we cannot be held responsible for lost mail or parcels sent overseas without

| Hey There,
I have been wanting to do this for ages, so many minifigures that need to be
shared with the world. I have just started loading figures but decided to open
my store as a soft start.
Would love to hear feedback or know if i have missed anything.
Thanks heaps.

If you stop by, I'd love some feedback on the store.
|
In your terms you say “Currently there is no S&H fee.” so does that mean it’s
free shipping? S&H is shipping and handling so (presumably) you do actually charge
shipping and you may want to update it so buyers don’t get confused

All parts in the store are brand new. At this stage I'll only be selling
within Australia.
Currently the store is quite small and will look to grow as time goes on.

It’s supposed to be the first step in the seller verification process (https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2440
).
It takes weeks to be verified but nothing is verified?

| Greetings!
My new store "Brick Sauce" - the sauce for all your bricks (or at least
maybe some of them) - is now open and ready to serve.
Right now we have around 18,000 new parts, with lots more on the way. Over the
coming weeks we'll also be adding used parts.
For what it's worth we'll be shipping most orders in boxes - only the
smallest, non-fragile orders will go in bubble mailers. Perhaps not necessary,
but we believe in taking care of the small things. Orders containing only paper
products (ie stickers, instructions etc) will be shipped with care in a board-backed
envelope or similar. Although we're new to selling here on BrickLink (and
obviously our feedback reflects that), we have several years experience selling
non-lego (and often fragile) items on other marketplaces, so we understand how
to package an order with care.
We ship daily Monday to Friday, and shipping is a flat rate of $4.99 - orders
of $50 and up ship free! Right now we're only shipping within USA, but are
hoping to get international shipping set up shortly.
Hope to see you soon!

With that out of the way, a little about me - I'm Justin, originally Welsh
but now living in Missouri. I'm an AFOL - an expensive past-time as you all
know! I'm hoping selling some parts here will at least slightly offset the
cost of new sets. I've just finished 10274 Ecto-1, currently building 10304
'69 Camaro (with some extra parts on the way to change the stripe colour),
and have my eye on a little red Corvette 10321! (Yeah, I guess there's a
theme going on here)

We are running a Grand Opening Sale though the end of February with everything
in the store 10% off.
Over 8500+ Parts and over 600+ lots all 10% OFF!!!
A little bit about me, I’ve been an AFOL for years now and have a large collection
of LEGO sets assembled. I have wanted to open a Bricklink store for several
years and give back to the community as well as help cover my hobby expenses.
I made to decision to go ahead and start up the store. The Parts listed come
from my private collection and are new never played with LEGO, they were only
ever sorted into my parts wall or come from a Pick-a-Brick wall, the only used
parts i have are not for sale as they are currently in all of my displays.
I look forward to this new store opening with all of you, and am looking forward
to fulfilling my first orders!
