Hello,
Set 76174 Spiderman's Monster Truck
Would it be possible to add part 52031 Wedge 4 x 6 x 2/3 Triple Curved with the
appropriate sticker to the Counter parts section?
Also the 3069b ( 1 x 2 white tile) with the sticker for the licence plate.
I would like to add these to my wanted list so I will remember to buy them in
the future.
Thanks,
Mark

Welcome Jonas

  Hello everyone,

As of today, we have promoted BrickLink member Turez (Jonas) from Catalog Associate
to Catalog Administrator. In practical terms, this means he will now have full
privileges on both sides of the catalog, governing both the entries themselves
and the inventory system which connects them:

https://www.bricklink.com/v3/member/community_experts.page

Jonas has done excellent work during this past year in his catalog-side-only
position, quickly masterning all the various functions in what has often been
called a "minefield" environment.

Of particular interest to him is the process of getting all the set entries added
to the database at the correct time (and with the correct details of course),
which involves staging them as pending items and doing research as to when each
set will be released:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?itemPend=Y&catType=S

The scheduled release date is usually added to the item name on a pending entry.
As you can see, we are on the verge of a huge upload of new sets. June 1 is typcially
the single busiest release date besides January 1.

We are very pleased to have such great talent on our team. So join me in welcoming
Jonas to this new position!

Two versions of the sticker for set 10269-1 exist. The difference is in sticker
number 2. The first version (58480/6270452) had a "MILWAUKE" spelling
error, the second version (69195/6312751) corrected this to "MILWAUKEE".

Set No: 10269 Name: Harley-Davidson Fat Boy
*
10269-1 (Inv) Harley-Davidson Fat Boy
1023 Parts, 2019
Sets: Creator: Creator Expert: Traffic

I have requested to change the current sticker and stickered part into an undeterminate
version:

Part No: 10269stk01 Name: Sticker Sheet for Set 10269, Mirrored (Undetermined Type)
*
10269stk01 Sticker Sheet for Set 10269, Mirrored (Undetermined Type)
Parts: Sticker Sheet
Marked for Deletion
[p=14769pb302]

And I have added the alternate versions

Part No: 10269stk01a  Name: Sticker Sheet for Set 10269, Mirrored - (58480/6270452) (First Version with Error 'MILWAUKE'<IMG SRC=" TITLE="Part No: 10269stk01a Name: Sticker Sheet for Set 10269, Mirrored - (58480/6270452) (First Version with Error 'MILWAUKE'" BORDER='0' WIDTH='80' HEIGHT='60' SRC='https://img.bricklink.com/P/0/10269stk01a.jpg' NAME='img2465' ID='img2465' onError="killImage('img2465');">
*
10269stk01a Sticker Sheet for Set 10269, Mirrored - (58480/6270452) (First Version with Error 'MILWAUKE'
Parts: Sticker Sheet

Part No: 10269stk01b Name: Sticker Sheet for Set 10269, Mirrored - (69195/6312751) (Second Version with Corrected 'MILWAUKEE')
*
10269stk01b Sticker Sheet for Set 10269, Mirrored - (69195/6312751) (Second Version with Corrected 'MILWAUKEE')
Parts: Sticker Sheet

Part No: 14769pb302a Name: Tile, Round 2 x 2 with Bottom Stud Holder with Silver 'HARLEY-DAVIDSON' and 'MILWAUKE-EIGHT' Pattern (Sticker) - Set 10269
*
14769pb302a Tile, Round 2 x 2 with Bottom Stud Holder with Silver 'HARLEY-DAVIDSON' and 'MILWAUKE-EIGHT' Pattern (Sticker) - Set 10269
Parts: Tile, Round, Decorated

Part No: 14769pb302b Name: Tile, Round 2 x 2 with Bottom Stud Holder with Silver 'HARLEY-DAVIDSON' and 'MILWAUKEE-EIGHT' Pattern (Sticker) - Set 10269
*
14769pb302b Tile, Round 2 x 2 with Bottom Stud Holder with Silver 'HARLEY-DAVIDSON' and 'MILWAUKEE-EIGHT' Pattern (Sticker) - Set 10269
Parts: Tile, Round, Decorated

For the -a versions (with the MILWAUKE spelling error), we can use the current
catalog images for part 10269stk01 and 14769pb302.

I have uploaded an image for 10269stk01b.

I do not have a 14769pb302b (tile 2x2 with the corrected sticker).

Could someone with set 10269 or with part 14769pb302, please check the version
of their sticker, and upload a catalog image for the revised version?

I see an extra item for p/n 85861 in white, with no corresponding base part entry.

Is this in reality an optional part, or is this an additional part for something
that is in a sub-inventory (e.g. a minifig) ?

Enquiring minds, etc.

It's used in

Minifig No: uni07 Name: Unikitty - Large Smile
*
uni07 (Inv) Unikitty - Large Smile
Minifigures: Unikitty!

Thank you. That reveals another shortcoming in the BL implementation. That being
that, while you may be able to see that on the HTML web page display (assuming
you can click something that expands the sub-inventories), there is no option
to do likewise on the XML download of the set inventory. All I get in the XML
file is a flat rendering of the basic set inventory. It doesn’t reveal that this
part was an extra assigned to the minifig (which we can’t do in the inventory
section of the catalog, because that might imply that every sale of the minifig
comes with the extra).

In one sense it would be nice (I suspect) if extras were matched to the
item they are extra to, just like alternates are (but at the same time not trying
to say they are an alternate because they are not).

Extras _are_ matched to the item they are extra to. They are extra parts to the
set. That is how TLC defines them. They are not extra parts to a minifigure.
A minifigure is an assembly defined by BrickLink, and it should have no bearing
on the set that contains it. Basically, it is just another counterpart like all
other assemblies that are defined in the Counterparts section. Unfortunately,
the BrickLink system treats the minifigure assemblies as special items and all
of that needs to be changed. But the Sun may have gone supernova before that
ever happens.

Cheers,
Randy

Which is fine (as I suggested) but does not propagate to the XML inventory download.

It's in the inventory for this set.

Hope that explains things.

The subject is the counterpart / combo for {30179 + x39c01}.  There’s several
30179cxx, but not with x39c01 in Yellow.

There likely never will be, either, unless TLG decide to do a rerelease of 6434-1
which I highly doubt would ever happen as it's from a bygone era.

The yellow door at the time of it's original release happened to fit the
color scheme of the era the sets were going through, nowadays, it's all color
coordinated and we know a lot more about the parts numbering scheme TLG uses
internally.

If there ever is a need for that particular yellow door in a set design, perhaps
they would reuse it, although given their color palette now, I'd expect it
would turn up in some shade of yellow.

Cheers ...

ghyde

I guess this open up (again) the eternal question … Is it better (or more correct)
to list the two individually and linked together as a superlot, or to create
a unique catalog entry for the combo. It is existential in one sense. I’m curious
if there are ground floor reasons that suggest one over the other (and this same
subject somewhat also applies to wheels and tyres).
