Should he not have a fair part instead of a helmet (as in the set image)? Just
sold him on BO and it is listed with hair there, luckily I had another fig I
could rob the hair from.

Yeah that's a better shot, looks like TLB. I collect colour and varients
of colours and just checked my TLB for 1x1 studs and there are quite a few I've
collected from lighter to darker shades, definately not that consstant. Good
idea about the UV light, definately a tool worth having. Fun too lighting bricks
up in the dark

Thanks but Arghhhh! I just found some TMB parts and they don't match, so
in this photo it's TLB on top TMB on bottom and the ones I thought were TMB
in the middle which clearly aren't. Could they just be a off TLB?

If you are planning on selling then just buy something from a store that you
can resell when you open a store. Also as a seller it is really important you
know how the system works from a buyers perspective so making a purchase makes
sense.

  Hey everyone,

Im new here and looking around how the market works.
I tried to figure out how the selling part works but I cant get to that page.
I need a positive feedback. Is there any way that someone could help me out with
1 positive feedback?
Would be really appreciated.

Kind regards,

Wes

Find something you want to buy, find a seller with it, check if they leave feedback,
buy what you want, pay for it, receive it, leave feedback and they will probably
leave one for you.

Thank you for the replies. But like I stated is there a way that someone can
give me one postive feedback without buying anything (and hope for 1 feedback)?

I would create a shipping method 'Leave Order Open' and get them to let
you know when they are done adding to it. That way you invoice them once when
they are finished.

In Shipping, MissMars writes:
  I received this message today:

I am from Saudi Arabia and I have a USA forward mail box in Delaware. Also interested
in your store and I have some questions before placing an order.

-Some questions:
1) Can you hold the shipment for a while after receiving the payment (as I might
add more orders to be shipped together and save on international shipping cost)
?

2) I might place more orders during the hold period that can be shipped together
when I let you know that I am ready to be able to ship the orders. (to reduce
shipping cost)

I have no clue how to handle this.

Yes and no, I would use this system instead, 0001, 0002 etc etc (so draw 100
will be 0100) That'll work better.

In Help, kintave writes:
  Hi all,

My remarks are mixed up every time I pack orders and it's really annoying
so I decided to fix my remarks.

I've been labling my remarks starting at 01, 02, 03, 04 to 010 etc etc 022
etc 045 etc 099 and 0100

Will this fix my remarks so that when I get orders, they will be chronologically
shown?

Am I doing this right?

I didn't notice that description, it would be better moved to the main listing
under the fig like they normally list additional notes.

In Buying, Nubs_Select writes:

Ok. Good to know! I'm still learning about all things Lego Marvel.

No worries! If you look at this part of a Minifigures description that you can
see in the photo it says if it's been found with multiple head variants.
In addition, there aren't any product listings on bricklink for fake lego
(this is different than if a seller sells fake products which will get them banned)
Also this applies to any Minifigure not just marvel.

My son got me into this and so I got him Deadpool as a present.

Exciting! Hopefully he enjoys it!

He doesn't know it yet and I just want to make sure it is Lego and I didn't
get sold a dud. =)

Sounds like a good plan!

It's genuine Lego but I'm not too sure how it would affect the value.
Technically if sold here on Bricklink it wouldn't be the correct part but
on eBay may be okay. As it is a fairly valuable fig I guess whoever was to buy
would want the correct parts.

Do you happen to know if the blocked open type depreciates the value of the Deadpool

The feet, torso, and neck all have Lego logo on it, but the head is hollow and

Can someone please confirm that the official Lego version does have Lego written

Thanks in advance.

The blocked open version comes from the same set that Deadpool comes so looks
like his head might have been mixed up at some point.

Do any UK sellers know if you can bulk adjust stock in Brickstore to reflect
the UK 6th month ave. I've got it close but think it is still pulling in
the global 6th month average.

If you are visiting the museum and are tired of all the great sets, wooden LEGO,

Why not take a break and go see something nice and quiet

The 26th I will be there too, if you are going, let me know and I can maybe meet
or leave something nice behind.

Enjoy,

I would leave them all feedback, it might encourage them to leave it back. I
always leave it as soon as I ship, not much point in holding back leaving it.
Normally I wouldn't worry about it as it's common people don't leave
you any but if you want to get your score up a little you could send them a quick
note to ask them (once you've left yours first).

In Problem, Upstate_Brickz writes:
  Greetings Bricklink,

I am a new store with only 6 orders so far. the last 4 orders I sent out have
all received their parts, but haven't left any feedback. It's been a
few days for most of them and I don't think they are going to leave any.
I have posted in my terms that I will leave feedback if they do. The 4 buyers
were all new, most of them with zero feedback. Should I leave the buyers positive
feedback anyway since they were all perfectly fine and maybe it looks better
for my biz if I do, or should I stick to my terms and not leave any because
I really need their feedback too? You would think if they were trying to get
the feedback to become sellers they would be aware of all this. I also don't
want to look like I forgot to leave feedback. Let me know what you think!

Thanks,

Upstate_Brickz

Same - for the last few weeks this is happening to us and I've been refunding
loads of overpaid postage charges.

For the last week all of the orders coming in have reverted to small parcel when
they would easily fit in a large letter. We are obviously refunding the customer
for this and losing out on the PayPal fee. This definitely feels like a bricklink
error as I haven't changed anything and it happened suddenly.
We are loosing a fair amount over this and also we will be losing custom due
to the postage being too high. Can bricklink please confirm that this is something
they are working on?

Personally for me, two seperate systems in two different physical locations.
Just to eleminate any risk of mixing the two. It does mean it can create a space
issue.

In Selling, Leftoverbricks writes:
  Hi,
I'm thinking about selling more used bricks from my private collection in
my shop.

Currently I have 98% new and 2% used parts so it's quite easy for me to organize
by putting all used parts in a separate drawer, no matter what they look like.
Used parts are roughly sorted by type: brick, tile, technic and so on.

I wonder how other sellers organize their new and used lots.
Do you put them in the same parts bin, separated in different bags (new vs. used)
or do you have two separate systems, one with new and one with used parts?
Or something else?

All thoughts welcome!

Yes but if you pop all the bubbles it takes up much less space

shipped? So I went on-line and looked it up. The flat side goes towards the

Also, do not contact U-line or any other bubble wrap sources and ask for a refund
because 17 bubbles in the roll were popped. Customer service was not very nice
to me when I asked.

As well as the light suggestion which is really important I'd get yourself
a stack of 2x4 bricks in the old and new greys (light and dark) as well as the
reddish browns and browns. If you stick your bricks together when you want to
compare your light / light bluish grey part putting them to the stack of bricks
really makes it stand out as the new and old colours will stand out next to each
other. I wouldn't be without my stack of 2x4 bricks for double-checking colours.

a 10% sale on parts right now.

Personally, if it was me I'd refund his original order as it just feels the
right thing to do but not too sure otherwise as a bit unusual. It doesn't
sound like they would give you a neg by the sounds of what you've said.

In Selling, Liriel24 writes:
  Hi

I have this weird case where the buyer ordered from my store and send me his
own shipping label with tracking number. He said he had a better price on his
side. I say ok, no problem.

Order was returned to me because the buyer failed to pick it up at the post office
within 14 days. Of course I have to pay fees on the returned package.

I contacted the buyer a first time to inform him of the returned package and
the fees. He tells me to keep the order and that he will recontact me.

A few days ago I recontacted him again because I'm closing my store temporarily
for the holidays and asked him clearly if he wants me to cancel the order and
refund the money or if he wants me to ship it again, and charge him shipping
and the extra fees.

He said to cancel the order but keep his money. I'm not sure what I should
do, especially since the amount of the order is a few dollars more that the fees
that I had to pay. I don't want to risk any negative feedback or recourse
against me, etc.

Thanks for your advice.

I've got a book called Lego Color Guide by Christoph Bartneck because I'm

for 180+ colors that the Lego company produced ober the years." So quite a few.

If it were me I'd part them out as it will be more profitable, unless you
need a fast return on your investment and they are particularly in demand sets
of course. It'll take a lot longer to sell all the parts compared to selling
the whole set but it depends on the store business model you have developed.

In Selling, Lamondera writes:

I have a question for you. I just bumped today into some sets of Lego Movie 2,
at a 60% discount sale. They are NIB, sealed, but the boxes are slightly damaged.
Would you suggest to part out and sell the parts or to try to sell them as whole
sets?
Is there anyone more experienced who has a good suggestion to give?
Thanks!

I have been thinking of asking for that feature here. Definitely ought to be
in the seller tools.

I guess you could do it at rebrickable but you'll need to enter all of the
pieces.

Hi, can anyone help with the diameters of pneumatic hoses, please?

I have a huge amount to list and I have noted some are thinker than the Bricklink
catalog of 4mm. I understand the length can vary as Lego used to supply a 'whole'
length with the user needing to cut to the correct size.

I have some that vary in diameter from 4.3 / 4.4mm and some that are slightly
smaller than 4mm (3.7/3.8). Would this variance be normal for this part?

Many thanks.

You'd have to use plenty of Calgon.

In Off Topic, jacko writes:
  Hello there,

Just a thought everyone.

I’ve just taken a couple of Lego kits out of the washing machine (which if you’re
not into Lego, may sound rather odd!?)

As I lay the bricks out to dry, I needed to separate a few that have randomly
joined together. This made me think of the infinite monkey theorem.

This states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for
an infinite amount of time will almost surely type any given text, such as the
complete works of William Shakespeare.

My thought/question is – if you had a washing machine run an infinite number
of wash cycles, with the same kit, would you, on one occasion find that the bricks
have joined together in the correct order and the kit is correctly built?

For more detail, have a look at this page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_monkey_theorem

Anyone able to prove the theorem?

Regards

Loads of these when I first opened a store and started to list.

ago):

Part No: 22411 Name: Minifigure, Plume Feather Ponytail
*
22411 Minifigure, Plume Feather Ponytail
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear Accessory

The first piece that I recall not knowing was Lego only to find out later (once
it was given away in the fake Lego pile) that it was:

Part No: 58176 Name: Bar with Light Bulb Cover (Bionicle Barraki Eye)
*
58176 Bar with Light Bulb Cover (Bionicle Barraki Eye)
Parts: Bar

So I am asking others to share which pieces they can remember that they though
were not Lego. Hopefully this can help me an others not make the same mistake.

Probably someone has already made a list of these pieces already!!!

No, I use a set of generic feedback messages. I've been able to leave feedback

LOL, this one made me chuckle

Ok, so there's this setting in My Store - Settings - Management called
"Show price guide as a summary (pop up)."

When they remade the inventory pages in new code, we had a silly situation where
checking the box would result in having the pop up in the one version, and the
full page in the other version. Unchecking it would do the reverse. I had reported
that long ago.

Seems now they "fixed" it by making *BOTH* pages respond in the wrong way
:

When you UNcheck the box, you DO get the popup version. When you CHECK the
box, you get the FULL PAGE version.

Let's say that at least it's good to see that Bricklink has been putting
"some" work into it, and that the old and new version of the pages finally respond
the same way...

So the answer to your question is: Uncheck the popup box, and you will get the
popup again

Possibly if they have been inventoried. Look at the set that the sticker sheet
applies to then look at the Item consists of which will show a breakdown of all
parts. Go to the very bottom and if they are inventoried they will be there.

You get this a lot with LBG, it looks a bit washed out and almost light grey
(but is LBG). With these parts, if they are very noticeable I create a new lot
and keep them separate and then in the notes just say that these parts are a
little washed out and almost resemble the older light greycolour. I don't
think it is so much discolouration but rather just the material used at certain
times / plants.

discolored LBG and LG parts is sometimes very minor.

An good example is 2x 6192 I have. If you see them in a pile of LBG, they do
not seem LBG at all, more LG. They blend in nice in a pile of LG. However this
parts does not exist in LG in a set according to bricklink.
This part is being sold for €.10 to €.20 in LBG and €6 to €8 in LG.

How do I put this part for sale?
How can I you tell the difference between (discolered) LBG and LG?

I have a bunch of minifigs of unknown origin/set/year/theme. It would be cool
to find them in the BL inventories so I can:

- recombine them how they shall be
- find out what sets the came from
- get missing parts from BL

Trouble is that the category "minifig-torso-assembly-decorated" has 4k items.
There is no option to SORT by COLOR, even this data is in the database of BL.

When not knowing the origin of the item, the basecolor (of body and arms) is
the only thing I know for sure, so I would like to narrow down the list by this,
then look over the pictures until I find which one it is.

Tried this in Brickstore, it also does not allowing sorting this category by
color. Also same in add-brick in rebrickable.

I've added the following as an exemption

https://static.bricklink.com/*

in Avast go to menu / settings / exceptions and add exception.

Hopefully, this will work.

In Help, Kenopolis writes:
I've been getting warning messages from avast antivirus,
and now my inventory won't load.
(see picture.)

It appears that the warning is not needed, but if the page is being blocked that
could be a problem.

I see you are getting ready to shut the site down for a bit... Perhaps this is
one of the issues to be corrected? (Futile hoping)

Thanks to MrPetovan for his help, he said:
Thank you for the details, at least now we know the URL Avast is mad about.

It's this one: https://static.bricklink.com/renovate/js/build/cookieNotice.build.js

TL;DR: You're fine, you can disregard this particular alert.

At a glance it looks like a regular minified Javascript library file. The only
suspect thing is that it provides a base64 encoded data: URL as a SourceMap which
is used to debug the library even when it is minified.

This is probably what tripped Avast as base64 encoded data is routinely used
in malware to conceal a harmful payload, but I don't think it was warranted
in this case.

I often list these as separate lots, 'pearl gold lighter variety' and
'pearl gold darker variety' but both pearl gold. Always worth mentioning
that 'pearl gold can come in different shades' in the listing when they
differ significantly (like 1x1 round plates for example).

In Help, gilles78120 writes:

Right, pearl gold.

On the left ??, I thought about flat dark gold but I am not sure because this
color for this part is not referenced on Bricklink, it does not exist in any
set?

Can you help me ?

Thanks !

It looks like the rendered image for the DBG plate has been used for the LBG
as well, maybe a cat admin can update that.

To me it almost looks like a Dark Gray. Is there a reason for that? because most
of the other plate images are consistent in color.

A good percentage of my orders are zero feedback buyers, I'll be honest I
can't remember having any issues with someone with no feedback. From time
to time they message me as unsure about something which is cool, it is our job
to help them through the system.

If someone wants to cancel, I'll always cancel no questions asked, people
make mistakes.

If you get an order from a new buyer you feel unsure of I'd suggest sending
a message to them and asking if there's anything you can help with, it can
be a bit confusing buying on Bricklink for the first time.

In Suggestions, fobya71 writes:
I think that everybody knows that in the last two years there was a lot of peaople
connecting with BL the first time.

I'm sure that most of them to nopt read the rules...

It is becaming quite common to receive orders from people with zero feedback
that after some days ask for order cancellation.

I think it would be great to have a function to avoid orders from people with
0feedback or at least having the possibility to approve or deny the order before
it became a registered order. It is quite frustrating to cancel orders after
some days and then restock everythink...

We're considering eliminating separate catalog entries for smooth slopes
for a number of different reasons and are seeking feedback from the community
on the decision. This change would primarily effect the five catalog entries
shown above.

Please share your thoughts.

before, it's afab resource place for obscurities.

Had a largish haul of parts with a lot of Dark Pink bricks. Whilst sorting I
found quite a few sun damaged so just binned as I found them. But just had another
look at one and I don't think it is sun damage after all. It has totally
changed colour and completely consistent throughout. I would say this is the
same as the 'brittle blue' thing. Attached an image so show different
(photo doesn't quite capture it perfectly). Another one I'll add to
my ever-growing collection of weird Lego colours.

The color Dark Pink was changed around the same time that the new grays replaced
the old grays in 2004. So there are two true distinct shades of Dark Pink:

LEGO color 22 Medium Reddish Violet (early Dark Pink)

https://www.flickr.com/photos/126975831@N07/14777415117/

LEGO color 221 Bright Purple (modern Dark Pink)

https://www.flickr.com/photos/126975831@N07/14988645798/

I don't know if this explains the difference in the color of your parts,
but I thought you should be aware of the history of the color.

Cheers,
Randy

In time they will go almost dark orange and not uniformly so. Noticed it in 2018

Awesome, congrates Hygrotus

In Catalog, Admin_Russell writes:
  Hello everyone,

I have some long-awaited news for you! We have created a new Catalog Admin position
which has privileges on both sides of the system, the catalog and inventories.
This is a culmination of about 3 years of work, and we are so proud of our first
ever member to take this position, Hygrotus.

He has steadily worked his way up to this level from his years of being an outstanding
and reliable contributor, to a special class of contributor known as an Inventories
Verifier, to one year experience as an Inv Admin, and then most recently about
14 months as a Catalog Associate. We are pleased that he has stuck with the program
and now is going to forge ahead.

We are combining the two "halves" of the system for many reasons, but the main
one being efficiency. If only one admin is available on a given weekend, for
example, we can take care of contributions on both sides, which are often dependent
on each other.

We will retain the Catalog Associate and Inv Admin positions for the purpose
of training new Catalog Admins. They will be considered transitory positions.

Thanks very much for this info, very helpful.

[p=clikits011]

It happened yesterday, and the color does exist.

Basically, the one and only Trans-Bright Green that was in the catalog up until
yesterday contained two different colors: one that was pre-2010 (lighter and
less saturated) and one that is post-2010 (brighter and more saturated).

Pre-2010 color:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/126975831@N07/15193963935/

Post-2010 color:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/126975831@N07/15041232150/

The new color was added to separate out the pre-2010 from the post-2010. All
Clikits pieces that were listed as Trans-Bright Green will be moved to the new
Trans-Light Bright Green as well as some parts that were in DUPLO and Belville
sets.

Cheers,
Randy

P.S. Another color was also added yesterday called "Clikits Lavender" which describes
the lavender-type color used only in the Clikits line.

I use two axles and a tee part to get these apart and press down onto a solid
surface, watch your face as they can fly. At times I just can't separate
them and give up. I'd also check to make sure nothing is damaged afterwards
(apart from the axles which will be bent).

In Catalog, StormChaser writes:
How difficult is it to disassemble these two parts once they're attached
together? Do you need tools or do they come apart relatively easily?

I say yes to this too, I had my first neutral quite early on and it killed my
100% there and then. It was a positive too and the customer wasn't sure how
to change it. On the flip side it means you don't ever have to worry about
maintaining 100% anymore But yeah feedback I believe has become more and
more dated across platforms. I only ever bother to look at feedback if it's
a significant amount I'm spending.

In Suggestions, popsicle writes:
agulus’s input in this thread has reignited a persistent and nagging thought
of mine: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1176265

It’s a valid point made by member agulus, that has unfortunately been ongoing
as an issue, in the face of contrary input towards the feedback policy.

I’ve brought it up in the past, that a neutral should be just that, neutral,
and not effect your feedback percentage number displayed, up or down.

Beyond the obvious reasons, is the fact that there are many newish buyers that
mistakenly see BL’s neutral, as neutral. Silly people Meanwhile, it continues
to result in an amount of havoc in that arena of BrickLink.

I look forward to reading your honest thoughts

Since when have the media ever spread good news, they focus on the negative,
its what sells and allows 'them' to try and brainwash the masses.

My goodness why the focus on all de doom thinkers, now it sounds like everyone
assumes it will be terrible. That's neither correct, nor to our advantage.
I thought the replies to the news were really pretty balanced. We've seen
a whole range of different opinions and expectations. But I guess that's
how media work.

Yes Pearl Dark Grey, there are two versions of this colour, the newer darker
shade and the older (one you have there) lighter shade with a greenish tint to
it.

Yep LBG, had a fair few parts that look like this, washed out. I'd list
as a separate lot and just make a note that this one looks more very light blueish
grey in case someone buys both.

Well, not strictly my pet. Her name is Stray (because I refuse to name her).
A pretty rough family moved away and left her behind around six years ago. Since
then she has spent most of her life on my bed or on top of me.

I would really like to see more pics of our member’s pet. What do you think about
showing or introduce your animal companion to the BL membership here on the forum?

I think the best option is to collect a sample of parts to check against as it
can get tricky. This is one of my colour charts I've made with 2x4s

In Colors, BarbaraH writes:
Is there an easy way to identify some of the more unusual colours? I know there's
a colour chart but I've a few bricks in a particular shade of blue that I

Thanks for this WoutR, it's amazing. I'm bookmarking it as fascinated
by the Lego colours. Great work

In Suggestions, WoutR writes:
  (Many thanks to https://www.flickr.com/photos/126975831@N07/sets/)

Recent changes:
- There are two new colors: Coral and Trans-Light Green
- Some of the smaller problems were solved by changes in set inventories. I did
not check all of them.

-----

Here is my UPDATED list:
There is actually a surprising number of BrickLink colors that contain multiple
LEGO colors. In many cases this does not cause any catalog conflicts because
the parts do not exist in both design-color combinations. In a few cases there
are (possible) problems.

In order to help gain an oversight over the possible problems, I have split up
my list in a few sections.
- BrickLink colors that match one LEGO color
- BrickLink colors containing multiple LEGO colors (without known catalog conflicts)
- BrickLink colors containing multiple LEGO colors (with known catalog conflicts)
- BrickLink colors without LEGO name
- LEGO colors without BrickLink name
- BrickLink colors that are confusing or split up LEGO colors (including all
gold, silver copper)

Within each section, the colors are in the same order as the BrickLink catalog.

BRICKLINK COLORS CONTAINING MULTIPLE LEGO COLORS
(WITHOUT KNOWN CATALOG CONFLICTS)

Solid colors

11 Black
= 26 Black
= 149 Black Metallic (for Bionicle Rahkshi parts 44807, 44138, 44140)
= 342 Conductive Black (part 15411)

5 Red
= 21 Bright Red
= 184 Metallic Bright Red (for Bionicle Rahkshi parts 44807, 44138, 44140)

25 Salmon
= 101 Medium Red (Scala)
= 123 Bright Reddish Orange (Duplo salmon)

27 Rust
= 13 Red Orange (Duplo cows, Fabuland heads)
= The other BrickLink Rust parts are probably an odd version of 21 Bright Red
(?) but that color is so different that the separate listing is justified.

8 Brown
= 25 Earth Orange
= 187 Metallic Earth Orange (for Bionicle Rahkshi parts 44807, 44138, 44140)
= “Homemaker brown” The part x197 Homemaker headgear is a dark brown color.

68 Dark Orange
= 38 Dark Orange
= 216 Rust (for Skateboard 48394, Ladle x234, Dog 51163cx1)

3 Yellow
= 24 Bright Yellow
= 190 Fire Yellow (used in Clikits, color is VERY close to Bright Yellow)

35 Light Lime
= 15 Lemon (Duplo lemon-lime)
= 120 Light Yellowish Green (Scala/Belville/Duplo Princess)

34 Lime
= 14 Pastel Green (Fabuland, Duplo)
= 119 Bright Yellowish Green (current Lime)

6 Green
= 28 Dark Green
= 186 Metallic Dark Green (for Bionicle Rahkshi parts 44807, 44138, 44140, often
sold as Chrome Green or metallic green)

37 Medium Green
= 29 Medium Green
= 233 Light Faded Green (for part 44403c04)

48 Sand Green
= 151 Sand Green
= 210 Faded Green (for part 44513)

89 Dark Purple
= 268 Medium Lilac
= 197 Bright Lilac (for part 44611)

47 Dark Pink
= 22 Medium Reddish Violet (approximately 1994-2004)
= 221 Bright Purple (approximately 2004-now)
There is probably a lot of overlap between these colors, so theoretically there
must be catalog conflicts, but the colors are so close to each other and have
so much variation that it is nearly impossible to tell the difference.

104 Bright Pink
= 222 Light Purple
= 295 Flamingo Pink (for parts clikits141, clikits135, clikits135pb01, clikits100pb04)

Transparent Colors
19 Trans-Yellow
= 44 Transparent Yellow
= 234 Transparent Fire Yellow (Lighter than Transparent Yellow, used in Clikits
only)

108 Trans-Bright Green
= 227 Transparent Bright Yellowish Green (approximately 2003-2006)
= 311 Transparent Bright Green (Since 2010)

74 Trans-Medium Blue
= 143 Transparent Fluorescent Blue
= 293 Transparent Light Royal Blue (used om Clikits)
There might be a third Trans-Medium Blue color in the Clikits parts.

50 Trans-Dark Pink
= 113 Transparent Medium Reddish Violet
= 158 Transparent Fluorescent Red (for Bionicle part 32554)

Metallic colors
70 Metallic Green
= 200 Lemon Metallic (for Bionicle Kraata and Krana)
= The Metallic Green technic panels have a surface coating, and I do not know
what the official name is for the Metallic Green tube in the technic sets.

Glitter Colors
101 Glitter Trans-Clear
= 117 Transparent With Glitter
= 122 Nature with Glitter (Duplo spider web)

BRICKLINK COLORS CONTAINING MULTIPLE LEGO COLORS
(WITH KNOWN CATALOG CONFLICTS)

Solid colors

2 Tan
= 5 Brick Yellow
= 224 Light Brick Yellow (for part ava005 and the hair of figure 47205pb006).
Figure 47205pb006 has been found with hair both in tan and in “light tan” color.

29 Earth Orange
= 12 Light Orange Brown
= 128 Dark Nougat (used in some Harry Potter sets for parts 30374 (wand), flute
(30374px1), part 3901 (Vernon Dursley hair)
There is a catalog conflict on part 3901 and maybe 30374.

73 Medium Violet
= 112 Medium Bluish Violet (approximately 1999-2003)
= 219 Lilac (approximately 2003-2005)
= 213 Medium Royal Blue (for part 44688 in set 7495-1)
= 218 Reddish Lilac (used in Clikits, closer to modern Lavender)
There is some overlap between Medium Bluish Violet (Blueish Medium Violet) and
Lilac (Reddish Medium Violet). Both are known as part 3001 for example. The different
Medium Violet colors are VERY different. This causes confusion.

23 Pink
= 17 Rose (approximately 1992-1997 Paradisa pink)
= 9 Light Reddish Violet (approximately 1997-2006)
Several plates are known to exist in both colors. The Clikits Pink parts are
probably all Trans-Pink, misnamed because of the appearance of the material used.

32 Light Orange
= 121 Medium Yellowish Orange
= 225 Warm Yellowish Orange (for Duplo plate 8x16 part 6490)
Some Q-elements are known in both colors.

Transparent Colors
14 Trans-Dark Blue
= 43 Transparent Blue
= 156 Transparent Deep Blue (use outside watch parts is uncertain)
There is a conflict in the watch links, but not much is known about them. (See
https://www.flickr.com/photos/111441268@N03/15417687510/)

51 Trans-Purple
= 126 Transparent Bright Bluish Violet
= 236 Transparent Bright Reddish Lilac
Conflict in Clikits parts

Pearl Colors
77 Pearl Dark Gray
= 148 Dark Grey Metallic (approximately 2002-2010)
= 316 Titanium Metallic (since 2010)
There are conflicts, such as part x110c01.

BRICKLINK COLORS WITHOUT LEGO NAME

Solid colors

56 Light Pink
= Possibly a Scala/Belville clothes color. Probably this color is mainly used
for the “Paradisa pink” color.

Chrome Colors
These colors did not receive a LEGO color ID because they were treated as a surface
decoration just like the printed parts.
57 Chrome Antique Brass
122 Chrome Black
52 Chrome Blue
64 Chrome Green
82 Chrome Pink

LEGO COLORS WITHOUT BRICKLINK NAME

N/A - 109 (PC) Black IR (Probably part of IR assemblies only )
N/A - 132 Black Glitter (Original box for set 7159-1)
N/A - 144 Dark Army Green (watch parts)
N/A - 146 Sand Violet Metallic (watch parts)
N/A - 220 Light Lilac (Torso of 47394pb028)

The trunks of the Granulated trees are also a unique color of brown. No name
is known for this color for both BrickLink and LEGO.

BRICKLINK COLORS THAT ARE CONFUSING OR SPLIT UP LEGO COLORS
The silver, gold and copper colored parts cause most problems, because they can
have a completely different appearance depending on material used (ABS, polypropylene,
rubber) and part shape. In the years before any official color information was
available, we invented different color names for parts that actually were made
in a single color.

Solid Colors

7 Blue
= 23 Bright Blue
= 185 Metallic Bright Blue (for Bionicle Rahkshi parts 44807, 44138, 44140)

LEGO 185 Metallic Bright Blue is split up between Blue (for parts that do not
look pearly because of the plastic used) and 78 Metal Blue (for parts that do
look pearly).

Tiny Blue
42 Medium Blue
= 102 Medium Blue
= 188 Tiny Blue (for part 44534)
= 269 Tiny-Medium Blue (for part 44403c02)

62 Light Blue
= 45 Light Blue
= 188 Tiny Blue (for part 44461)

LEGO 188 Tiny Blue is split up between Medium Blue and Light Blue, depending
on which set it occurred in and how the person doing the inventory solved the
problem of how to classify a new unknown color.

Speckle Colors
Speckle colors are covered in a speckled coating. The speckles are not part of
the plastic itself.

111 Speckle Black-Silver
= 304 (ink) Cool Silver, Diffuse on Black parts

117 Speckle DBGray-Silver
= 304 (ink) Cool Silver, Diffuse on DB-Gray parts

151 Speckle Black-Gold
= No LEGO (ink) color ID is known

116 Speckle Black-Copper
= 306 (ink) Copper, Diffuse on Black part

LEGO 304 is split up depending on the color of the base-part it is applied to.
It does not cause any catalog problems, but it might need a “color note” to explain
the relation with the official LEGO color names for future reference.

Pearl Colors
Metallic Bright Blue
78 Metal Blue
= 145 Sand Blue Metallic
= 185 Metallic Bright Blue (for part 54005pb01 and the hubs of 54007c02)

Silver, Gold and Copper colors
Silver, Gold and Copper colors are made in a few different ways:
- As a color of the plastic itself
- as a shiny surface finish, called “chrome” on BrickLink.
- as a matte surface finish, called “metallic” on BrickLink.
- Painted, sprayed or brushed onto the part as a surface decoration. (In those
cases LEGO will usually specify the color of the part underneath the decoration,
with a description of the decoration in the part name). These are usually called
“metallic”, but I think I have seen a few inconsistencies (I did not check yet).

The naming conventions LEGO used for these colors are as confusing as the way
BrickLink dealt with differences in appearance caused by the use of different
materials. Initially LEGO only assigned a name to the color of the plastic itself.
Until somewhere around 2006 (?) all surface coatings were seen as decorations
only. Then a few color names were introduced that describe the appearance of
the brick. Since somewhere around 2009-2012 (?) those names have been replaced
by “ink colors” with labels (No 1000, No 1100) in the part name to describe the
surface finish.

So what is what?..

Gold colors

Chrome Colors
21 Chrome Gold
= until approximately 2010: surface decoration (no number assigned);
= later: 310 Metalized Gold
= present: 335 Gold Ink (probably with “No 1100” in the official LEGO part name)
(I am not sure about the exact dates for the changes in the LEGO naming conventions
for this color)

Pearl Colors
61 Pearl Light Gold = 127 Gold
115 Pearl Gold = 297 Warm Gold
81 Flat Dark Gold = 147 Sand Yellow Metallic

Metallic Colors
65 Metallic Gold
= 1998-2006: surface decoration (no number assigned);
= 2006-2009: LEGO 299 Warm Gold, Drum Lacquered
= 2009-present: LEGO 335 Gold ink (ink (probably with “No 1000” in the part name)

Silver colors
Chrome Colors
22 Chrome Silver
= until approximately 2010: surface decoration (no number assigned);
= later: 309 Metalized Silver
= present: 336 Silver Ink with (probably with “No 1100” in the official LEGO
part name)
(I am not sure about the exact dates for the changes in the LEGO naming conventions
for this color)

Pearl Colors
66 Pearl Light Gray and 95 Flat Silver

- Bricklink uses Pearl Light Gray for parts that “look swirly”
- Bricklink uses Flat Silver for parts that “do not look swirly” The definition
used can be found here: http://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=1096 I think
the definition is very confusing and open to interpretation.
- Bricklink uses Flat Silver for all 315 Silver Metallic parts (since 2010).

= 131 Silver (approximately 1998-2010)
= 296 Cool Silver (briefly replaced 131 Silver in 2006)
= 315 Silver Metallic (since 2010)
= 179 Silver Flip/Flop (for Bionicle Kanohi mask. Used only in Bionicle mask
packs from 2002. Because these packs with random parts are not inventoried, no
BrickLink color is known for these parts. They are currently sold as Metallic
Silver, flat silver, pearl light gray, pearl dark gray)

Parts in softer plastics that didn't show the pearl-ness much used to be
considered Flat Silver on BL (even though they LEGO considered them to be the
same color as Pearl Light Gray).

Metallic Colors
67 Metallic Silver
= 1998-2005: surface decoration (no number assigned);
= 2005-2009: LEGO 298 Cool Silver, Drum Lacquered
= 2009-present: LEGO 336, Silver ink (probably with “No 1000” or 1001 in the
part name)

Copper colors
Pearl Colors
84 Copper
= 139 Copper
= 189 Reddish Gold
= 176 Red Flip/Flop (for Bionicle mask 32573 and 32572)
= 178 Yellow Flip/Flop (for Bionicle Kanohi mask. Used only in Bionicle mask
packs from 2002. Because these packs with random parts are not inventoried, no
BrickLink color is known for these parts. They are currently sold as copper,
metallic gold, pearl gold.
= 346 Copper Metallic

= 300 Copper, Drum Lacquered matte copper surface coating
= 334 Copper ink

This color is a bit of a mess on BrickLink. Because BrickLink does not have a
“Metallic Copper” the Copper color is used both for the actual plastic (139,
176, 178, 189, 346) and the Copper coated parts (300, 334). The copper surface
coatings have a similar history as the silver and gold colors.

I saw your vid adding all those parts on an iPhone, I thought your brave, I'm

Great addition of parts.

Do you have any colours in Rust to check against it?

I don't recognize it as any current color. It looks closest to Salmon but
I don't have any other parts in this color.

Definitely list them for sale as there's a market for brittle blue. You
could either do then as the normal cat listing and put notes in the comments
field or you could do them as a custom item, make sure you put the words brittle
blue in the description as this could be picked up on a search (I've searched
this colour before). Would be interested myself if you have one in a 2x4 brick.

In Colors, Abels_Bricks writes:
  In Colors, crxefx writes:
Left to right : 4 brittle blue, 1 blue, 1 medium blue, 1 medium azure. Just my
guess from where i'm sitting. The 3437 does appear to come in those colors.

I have never come across brittle blue before, but after testing 1 block it appears
you are correct.

I destroyed 1 of the bricks with no issues. So I have 21 2x2, 1 2x4, 2 1x2, 1
2x3curved top.

Is there a market and how would I place in my store?

Thanks for you help.

From here they look like 'brittle blue' but I didn't know this happens
in the world of Duplo, just regular lego bricks. I'm sure some of the others
such as Stuart will come along and may be able to ID it.

In Colors, Abels_Bricks writes:
  Hello All

I picked up a load of DUPLO and while sorting came across these 2x2 and 2x4 bricks
in a blue colour.

The picture shows 4 of the bricks I am trying to id the colour along with a Blue,
Medium Blue and Medium Azure bricks to compare.
It`s not dark blue as that was the 1st colour I checked.

Thanks in advance for any help.

This issue does crop up quite often, and the reason shops will have a min buy
(mine included) is that if an order comes in for a very small amount then the
shop will actually be paying to send the order out (it's all to do with min
Paypal fees etc).

What I would suggest is if there's a shop with items you want but under their
min buy just talk to them, most will be accommodating. I've had plenty of
people message me this and always allow the purchase to go through as long as
I am able to tag on an axtra 50p to make sure I don't run at a loss. It's
just a practical

I know it can seem frustrating but it is just the mechanics of running a store
without hitting a loss. It is not the shops profiting or any bad marketing decisions.

In Suggestions, Brickochet writes:
This is a fairly bad marketing idea for shops that probably don't work out
in the shops favour. I know a majority of my browsing has ended up in me taking
my business and money to another shop. Where I am either buying from someone
without a min buy, or selecting other items I actually want to hit that minimum
purchase amount. So my suggestion is to add a donation field/possibility to finish
passing the required purchase line.

I have only made 3 purchases since I joined but these 3 people are profiting
by shop deterrence over the min buy. One of which was a difference of 3 cents
to the min buy vs. paying 1 cent more for the same thing because it didn't
have one.

If you look in your own store Tamas you have both colours listed there so you
could use those parts to compare, trans-neon can be fiddly especially with some
parts. I always keep a few trans colours to hand to compare too.

In Colors, aladar123 writes:
  Hi,

I am having difficulties with identifying which is a part that is trans neon
yellow or green. I have ordered bricks from different sellers already in both
colors and now I have a few bricks that are the same color but came as different.
Any way to identify them for sure? I just found small parts that are either of
them but the price is 10x bigger for the yellow one. I do not want to rip anyone
off at all.

Thanks,
Tamas

LOL yep definitely be adding it to the stack - carefully. I've got quite
a few parts now, I think they are pretty unique and I love collecting them. So
far 2x2, 2x3 and 2x6 brick, few slopes and plates and a 1x8 tile. The damn 2x4
keeps dogging me, I occasionally buy small older job lots on eBay by guessing
the colour from the images, not had much success yet though.

In Colors, Fragty writes:
I have -since I found out what brittle blue is/was- found:

3x1 inverted slopes
one 1x2 jumper plate
2x2 corner bricks
2x2 tiles

I probably have more if I search for it in my stock/old mocs.

And I'm sure I broke many, or threw them away, from the time before I knew
what it was.
Or used as filler bricks.

I do keep them now for fun. It's not a real colour and they are totally
useless, but still a nice oddity.

But if you do find a 2x4 brick...are you gonna add it to that color 'tower'?
I wouldnt. It might break just by doing that...

grtz,
Koen

Is this normal with leg assemblies?

It is from a used C3PO that i found. It stands out a bit because the whole figure
is in one shade of Pearl Gold and then the 1 leg is different.

Was also wondering if buyers would even notice the 2 different shades on the
legs if i sold the figure.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks

If it is for C-3PO it is normal, as he has right leg in diffrent color

So maybe you encounter more movie accurate

Some parts are tricker than others, Technic pins and bushes are an example.
If you get yourself a 2x4 brick of each colour and use natural daylight you should
be okay. Sometimes (technic bushes are another example) LBG can fade and look
a little like light grey, especially if they are slightly yellowed. I tend to
not these when not too sure (or you could do a custom listing and just say unable
to determine colour and sell as a small joblot).

What I sometimes do is to create two separate lots if I have a few of noticeably
different shades and list one batch as 'lighter pearl gold' and the other
as 'darker pearl gold' in case someone buys the whole lot. Is extra
work though but helps the buyer as they will know in advance they will get two
distinctly different shades. Pearl Gold is a bit of a nightmare colour.

In Catalog, odurt writes:
  Hi,

Can you help me the color of the different gold parts shown in the picture below.

The two on the left are from

224 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 2017
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 3

The three in the middle are from

Set No: 70612 Name: Green Ninja Mech Dragon
*
70612-1 (Inv) Green Ninja Mech Dragon
523 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 2017
Sets: The LEGO NINJAGO Movie

In both sets, the parts are listed as Pearl Gold. However, the three in the middle
look more metallic as per the silver part on the right. Should I proceed with
an inventory change request to add the three in the middle as alternate Metallic
Gold parts?

Thanks,

Sebastien
