Anyway, in those years I’ve developed what could be termed: category likes. Certain
categories within the catalog I tend to buy from when bored, simply because I
enjoy or appreciate the items. I would call it collecting, but it’s not really
that. I have collections, none Lego related.

No, I spend money on these Lego, rationalizing the expenditure with “I’ll sell
it someday in our normal course of doing business here." I guess the perceived
difference for me, is that simple fact; the intention to sell at some point

Well this morning, after several cups of jo, I started pondering those categories
I’ve come to enjoy, and asked myself why? That is, why do I appreciate them,
say over others?

Are there items of particular categories within the BL catalog, you tend to
enjoy more than others? If so, what are they and why the affinity?

I’d enjoy reading your thoughts on this, and have mischievously omitted a personally
salient bit for now: my categories. I will post them, but I would kinda like
to read some of your thoughts, first

-Thanks

Hair and Headgear as they're the one component that really helps define a
minifigure. Assembling them onto a head is also very satisfying

Hair, Headgear and Heads are one of the main things my store specializes in.
Small and easy to store with a good demand for them. They certainly work for
me

I love printed tiles. (not stickers, but printed) I saw a mosiac made of them
at my first Brickworld Chicago and it just kinda stuck with me. I am happy whenever
I get to add a new one to the catalog so the artists out there have more to work
with.

Second place would be all the minifigs that are dressed up in costumes.

Minifig No: col258 Name: Banana Guy, Series 16 (Minifigure Only without Stand and Accessories)
*
col258 (Inv) Banana Guy, Series 16 (Minifigure Only without Stand and Accessories)
Minifigures: Collectible Minifigures: Series 16 Minifigures

I also love sorting and selling anything from the Technic or Bionicle categories.

Hi all,

in March of this year I was searching for some parts. I found them only for sale
at Australian stores NOT shipping to Europe.
After my cry-out to my fellow BL-ers here, LegOhHeaven stepped in to the rescue.
Now, about 2 months later, my parts have arrived safely, items even packed as
a gift (see picture).

Well thanks for the help LegOhHeaven and the time you took to help me complete
some projects!

I am glad, happy and thankful to be part of this community !!!

Andrew @CollectibleLEGO A Collectible Experience

I'm guessing that the most of those images are .GIF files.

.GIF files are made up of a series of static images that are shown one after
the other to produce an animation.

You can use online .GIF creators to produce your .GIF, however you still have
to provide all the static images to make the .GIF. Creating the original animation
frames is the really time consuming part of creating a .GIF. Note: .GIF files
are limited to 256 colours (IIRC), so will scale down the palette of your original
images to 256 (if they consist of more than 256); results can vary...

A quick glance on Google found this online creator - https://ezgif.com/maker
I can't vouch for its effectiveness, but it looks like it should meet your
requirements.

Once you've saved your .GIF to a hosting site, simply link to it to see your
animation on your store.

In theory!!!

Thank you for such an in-depth explanation and sharing the link! I will try my
hand at this and see what I can produce. I will post updates after.

You may need to specify a bit more as there are multiple versions of the DeLorean.

These are the figures from the new set (At least 2 stores have them in stock
as of now):

Minifig No: btf001 Name: Marty McFly - Red Vest with Pockets, Dark Bluish Gray Arms
*
btf001 (Inv) Marty McFly - Red Vest with Pockets, Dark Bluish Gray Arms
Minifigures: Back to the Future

Minifig No: btf002 Name: Doc Brown - Long Hair, Yellow Coat
*
btf002 (Inv) Doc Brown - Long Hair, Yellow Coat
Minifigures: Back to the Future

The license plate in that set has two version but they are both stickered 2x4
tiles. The sticker sheet nor the stickered parts have been added to the catalog
yet.

And these are the entries for the older ideas version of the DeLorean:

[P=3069bpb0288,1]

[P=3069bpb0287,4]

Minifig No: idea001 Name: Marty McFly
*
idea001 (Inv) Marty McFly
Minifigures: LEGO Ideas (CUUSOO): Back to the Future

Minifig No: idea002 Name: Doc Brown - Short Hair
*
idea002 (Inv) Doc Brown - Short Hair
Minifigures: LEGO Ideas (CUUSOO): Back to the Future

Thanks Pete. Why are they so rare and limited? Set has been out for 3 or 4
months now

Also I think it's pretty much been sold out since the release day. Which
means a couple things:

1) If anyone on BrickLink was planning on inventorying it, if they did not get
it day 1 they still don't have access to it. As of right now the inventory
for that set has not been reserved, so presumably nobody is even working on it.

2) People don't often part out sets if they only have 1 or 2 of them,
especially bigger sets like this. Since it's been sold out since day one
it highly unlikely that many people (if any) have more than 1 or 2 of the set
and thus even if the inventory was ready not many would be parted out.

-Pete

I have the set, won't get around to working on it till at least the end of
the month. I'm redoing the flooring throughout my house and all my Lego
is just moving from one room to the next. Forget all the new sets that have
come in. I didn't want to reserve the set incase someone could get to in
sooner. If it's still out there, I'll be sure to work on it when I open
mine up. None the less, the stickered parts won't be added for who knows
how long. I have stickered parts from the new Ideas Sonic set and the Designer
Sheriff's Safe that have been waiting for months so even if I get to it,
who knows how long it will be for the stickered ones.

If its actually signed by the band, you would have more luck flogging it on eBay
or somewhere (the sort of place that Space Girls fans/collectors would be looking
for stuff).

It isn't really a lego product that you are selling if it is signed by them
so best not to limit yourself to a lego only site. Stick it into an auction.

Sounds like you have a nifty item throw it out there and see what happens if
its too high then just lower it.

Hello Bricklink community,

I create LEGO mosaic artwork (www.brickmaniac.com & Instagram @brickmosaics).
I am gearing up for a large community build project involving ~70 city kids this
summer. As a way to punctuate this event, I would like to offer participants
a chance to build and take home with them a LEGO minifigure of their own design.
I scratched together about 30 minifigures from my own collection, but I need
more minifigs and extra parts to insure that each participant can have the opportunity
to get one. My budget also isn't sufficient to afford the purchase new minifigures
in this quantity, which is why I am asking the Bricklink community for help.
I am pretty sure there must be some extra minifigs & parts out there, given our
large LEGO community!

The ask: I would really appreciate it if you have any minifigures or
parts to share. If possible, I hope to have parts/figures with different skin
tones, so that kids of different skin tones can make a figure that looks like
they do, if they want. The minifigs/parts do not need to be brand new.

At this point, I am looking for anything (heads, torsos with arms/hands, legs,
arms/hands, hair, helmet, etc.), so please direct message me if you have something
that you're willing to contribute.

I have a stamp collection and I am able and happy to reimburse for shipping.

Thanks in advance for your generosity!!
Aaron

P.S. I cannot take credit for this great LEGO meme, I found it on the internet.

That is weird. The print is pretty much all there (except the red dot) but compressed
into a higher band.

And the 2 rectangles bottom left and the cirkel bottom right are solid silver.
They are not supposed to be are they?

Looks more like a bad printed:

Ah, yes, you are right! It is the A-version without (most of the) horizontal
gray lines. Thanks.

The part was flipped the wrong way when the rocks were printed on it. Resulting
in both sides being printed, and the top missing a partial print. I haven't
seen anything quite like it before and am surprised it exists, made it past quality
control and survived 30 years to today intact.

I wonder how in the world that happened. Cool find, thanks for sharing.

Could they be painted before being pressed into form?

Or are they not “stamped”

  like other parts?
Weird.

I assume they are decorated before forming. The continuous printing on the curved
edges is too good to be printed afterwards.

Its touch and go with sales some days you will have great days some not so much
my suggestion is just keep doing what you do. I find downtimes a plus to catch
up on stuff.

send a message to anyone that signed up for mailings.

  Hi all. I build with 1-1 studs and want to purchase about 30K studs in bright
colors. I have never done international shipping and I am looking for great prices.
I have found some studs but I'm not sure about import fees, etc. I wanted
to do my order stateside but I can't afford 2-5 cents a stud when I am talking
about getting the type of quantity I'm looking for.

I am a blind lego builder and the bright colors help me keep my colors alive.
Any advice? Anyone know of a store who might offer a deal on something like this?

Thank you so much!

Try a search like this:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3024#T=S&O={%22ss%22:%22US%22,%22max%22:%220.02%22,%22minqty%22:%221000%22,%22rpp%22:%22500%22,%22iconly%22:0}

for e.g.

Part No: 3024  Name: Plate 1 x 1
*
3024 Plate 1 x 1
Parts: Plate
all colors
for a seller that has more than a 1.000 in a lot
shipping to USA
for a max price that is acceptable to you

Don't expect that shop to have all colors you need, but it gets you started
to find a suitable shop.
Shipping from EU to USA is generally cheaper than the other way around.
AFAIK you do have to pay sales tax (state dependent) but not import duties (federal
US).

Thanks for the info. I do searches all the time. The part number I am looking
for is

Part No: 4073  Name: Plate, Round 1 x 1
*
4073 Plate, Round 1 x 1
Parts: Plate, Round {Blue}
. Will keep checking!

It might be worth looking into buying a few of the mosaic sets as sources of
pieces. Especially if you can find them on sale. If you expand into using 1x1
round tiles as well

Part No: 98138  Name: Tile, Round 1 x 1
*
98138 Tile, Round 1 x 1
Parts: Tile, Round {Dark Orange}
there are quite a few more brightly colored sets. Particularly

Set No: 31203 Name: World Map
*
31203-1 (Inv) World Map
11695 Parts, 2021
Sets: Art

Set No: 31197 Name: Warhol Marilyn Monroe
*
31197-1 (Inv) Warhol Marilyn Monroe
3341 Parts, 2020
Sets: Art
and

Set No: 21226 Name: Art Project - Create Together
*
21226-1 (Inv) Art Project - Create Together
4138 Parts, 2021
Sets: Art

might be of interest to you.

Hi, Pete. I build towers with them so tiles won't work. The mosaic sets I
have seen have all had a ton of black, grays and browns. The colors I am looking
for in large quantities are:
yellow, red, orange, blue, trans-light blue, green, lime, dark red, etc.

I would be happy if a store just had large quantities of red blue and yellow
and were willing to sell them to me at a discount.

Thank you all so much for all your help. Please contact me if you have tons of
these.

Maybe look into Nordic Brix (Finland) or Unlimited-Bricks (Germany).
I suggest putting the pieces you really want on a Wanted List and setting your
max price a little higher than you want. Then search for stores that meet those
criteria. Start your search there and that should get the ball rolling.

-Pete

+1

Also, some sellers who have large quantities may sometimes choose to add Bulk
Pricing Discounts to their lots. Those do NOT show up on any of the Wanted List
features, but you will see that when you enter each shop and view the listings
up close.

So, for example, if a seller with 8,000 Red Dots shows up on your wanted list
results and you go to their store, you may find that they offer a bulk price
discount when you purchase large quantities. An original price of 5 cents might
end up being 2 cents when you buy 1,000 or more Red Dot Plates.

For each part, beneath the wanted quantity there is the "have quantity" which
can be used to keep track of how much you have in stock. Very useful for large
wanted lists.

“Hey, we want us to make a few of that neck part.  Put the mould in machine 20.”
“Which neck part?”
“You know the one for the heads!”
“??”

  I mean broken not disassembled, hence they are not listed as seperate parts here.

I finally heard back from LEGO and you are right. "we're pretty sure the
part you're describing is a 10.2 ball snap assembly, although all sets using
it are retired. The only set that shows up in our system that uses it is set
75529 Elite Praetorian Guard, which is a Star Wars™ set."

Thanks so much for all your help! I guess I'll just add this to my collection
of odds and ends I've found in LEGO orders!

Wow, and why were they stored in your desk drawer?

There is a post office next to my work site and I was planning to mail some for
grading or was going to list some for sale. The sw0107s are mint/near mint so
I think they were headed for grading before the pandemic hit.

Why is the time horizon for the purge so small(six months)?

  OK, I am still looking for help identifying this piece. I have searched the internet
as much as possible, and even contacted LEGO.com with no luck. It's been
over a year and I still don't know what this piece is, what set it might
go to, or what number to list it on BrickLink with! I have included pics of each
side of this piece in the hopes that someone here knows what it is.

Oh, and please!! If you don't know what it is, please don't reply like
the last time I asked. And yes, before anyone suggests it, I have searched the
color base, again with no luck considering there are thousands of BLACK pieces!!

I am inclined to believe that it is an internal component of one of the Star
Wars constraction figure heads:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?q=large%20figure%20head%20modified%20sw

Which one? I have no idea.

Could be. My question would be, if it's part of this assembly, WHY does it
have it's own part #, and if it's part of this head, why aren't the
individual parts listed. I asked the exact same question at LEGO.com and got
nothing.

Looks like you spot on here.
Look at the bottom of this head its a match. (It may be from any of the black
heads.)

The design ID suggests that it is part of an assembly that was produced around
2016. That should help narrow the search down a bit.

Lovely number

It’s funny how our minds constantly look for patterns.
Generally it’s faces (in clouds, rocks, or toasted bread) but for some of us
it’s in numbers too.
Each time I work with part IDs, I catch stray half-counscious thoughts trying
to find relations between IDs or bettween the digits in an ID.
I’ve to tell myself that, no, stop looking, 93089 isn’t a palindrome… but it’s
a prime (you checked last time!) and there’s nothing really peculiar in 24246

So what you're saying you already saw 80085.

I'll see myself out.

Thanks Maxx,

I have some including colours other than the standard, I’ll find them soon as
I’m working through my boxes at the moment.

Let you know what I have.

Cheers

Just as a footnote, if anyone has a trans clear bdoor01 then I’d be interested,
found a window in trans clear, amongst others, so the door could exist.

I recall finding my first Technic piece in Metal Blue. From then on, when I'd
place orders for projects and parts, I'd buy everything within reason in
that color. Just recently, I listed it all for sale, and it's been a liberating
feeling.

I collect black technic pins. I don't do it on purpose, and I can't
seem to stop them from showing up. I have ba-gillions of them.

I always loved the trees. I remember when LEGO Shop at Home had

Set No: 10113 Name: Cypress Trees
*
10113-1 (Inv) Cypress Trees
5 Parts, 2001
Sets: Bulk Bricks
on sale for something like $5.99 a bag and I bought a bunch. I also stocked
up on

Part No: 3470 Name: Plant, Tree Fruit
*
3470 Plant, Tree Fruit
Parts: Plant, Tree {Green}
when they had them (at Pick a Brick IIRC). My kids' LEGO
table had these wonderful tree-lined streets, and I also had a ton more that
I thought I would gradually sell, but I never got the chance. Oh well.

Enjoy your LEGO while you have it.

I love the Masonry Bricks (98283 and 15533) of any color. By far my favorite
part. Not sure why.

There is one particular Star Wars set that I love to pickup up when I see a decent
deal and that's 9490, Droid Escape. I love the Sand Troopers. I couldn't
tell you how many of those I have parted out over the last 2 years or so.

Not so much "buy" as I hoard from bulk.

-Masonry bricks. Starting hoarding them when they were like $1+ / each, but now
I still can't stop pulling them out of bulk and placing them in their own
bag.

-Barred doors and windows. One of my favorite play sets as a kid was Sheriff's
lockup and the ability to place minifigures in the jail like I was a giant overlord
mad with power.
Don't plan on actually building anything with them now, but if I do (or whoever
ends up with them should I inevitably dump them in one big lot) could probably
make an entire prison... sounds exciting, right!?

-1 x 16 bricks, these were scarce in my childhood builds.. i maybe had 2 so I'm
overcompensating as an adult.

-32 x 32 baseplates... similar to above, but only had 1.

-Technic, always thinking I'll make a cool contraption one day

-Rock formations.

-Larger finishing tiles. 2x4s and 1X6s and bigger.

Like you, the idea is that I'll probably sell it at some point, with the
excuse that I need to accumulate enough to make it "worth it".

  I’d enjoy reading your thoughts on this, and have mischievously omitted a personally
salient bit for now: my categories. I will post them, but I would kinda like
