But for what reason? I cannot know the wants of every member, but I imagine
the demand for just chrome red arms and legs without the rest of the body would
be slim to none. This seems like more of a request to allow every possible part
ever made into the BL catalog for the sake of catalog "completeness" as opposed
to an effort to provide a method to sell and buy something.

Exactly, the arms and legs should be made available for sale. Just because they
weren't released outside of being a keychain, doesn't mean we shouldn't
be able to sell them.

We allow these already which never were officially released outside of a glued
keychain.

And they are glued, so cant be inventoried, so no parts in chrome red?

At least the arms and legs can be taken off, so it is possible to have singe
parts which would need to be listed in chrome red if you want to sell them.

Btw. this is already mentioned here as part of project 2:

In 13 years on the site I do not believe much as been implemmented that has been
suggested but here is another one to ponder.

Several times a year there are problems on the site regarding e-mails being sent
out. That pertains to either notifies, order notifications, etc. Most recently
there is a problem again with notifies. With orders you can simply check your
order detail page and see if there is something new on there. But with notifies
if you do not receive an email you have nothing. No idea whether the messages
went out nor to how many buyers. And even more importantly you cannot re-do it.
Opportunity lost for both your store and of course, Bricklink. Quite a dilemma
really as apart from your store page (And that is more than limited for this
day and age)there is no other marketing tool available to sellers.

What if the following were implemented

Create a notify log similar to the part out log (which is pretty underwhelming,
but at least it is something).

The notifies log could be created using a query on the SQL transaction log and
it could look something like this in the first instance:

Date No Lots (uniques) No Notifies Status
20/03/2021 333 1257 Success
21/03/2021 158 754 Success

This might take a non-sql person an hour or so to write the code but it would
be worth its weight in gold to sellers. The no of notifies could be a link to
the calendar file which shows the uniques listed and the status, provided it
shows success at least lets you know they were sent out.

Any thoughts?

I've seen a bad situation where BrickLink can told to use a particular shipping
method but the parts does not fit with the method, because on the restriction

in the catalog.

In the Inventory page, I am able to list all items missing the weight in the
catalog. It would be great to have an identical filter to identify items without
dimensions.

Regards,

porchy

I suggest you try the checkbox: Instant Checkout Unavailable on your My Inventory
page to find these items.

I do a lot of MOC's in Studio before I build them in the real. A lot of

colours. If I could choose the parts I want to check and then see which colours
they all have in common it would save a ton of time. I doubt I'm the only
one who would find this useful.

You already have all the data in your system, it wouldn't be that hard to
code that option.

First, it’s not clear if you’re talking about Studio or if you want that suggestion
for the website/catalogue.
If the former, the dedicated forum for Studio and PartDesigner is here: https://forum.bricklink.com/
(hover over the red Studio icon on every page, then click “Studio Forum”).
AND, you can already simply do that in Studio: check “Hide unavailable colors”
in the general Colour Palette (on the top right), then select the parts in the
viewport, then open the colour palette, and only the common colours will be available.

My spin on this subject is that every seller, not just new sellers, should have
a sand box where they be a pretend buyer. They can do everything other
than create a real order, make real payments, or leave real feedback. All of
those would be simulated, from a simulated buyer.

Thank you for this, but this does not do what I am requesting. I am inventorying
all my parts and sets. I am using all 3 stockrooms depending if it is set I
am keeping, parts i am keeping, or parts to keep and sell later.

What I am looking for is when I pick the A, B, or C from the drop down menu,
then it automatically checks the box for storeroom so I don't have to do
2-3 clicks.

Does this make it more clear?

Thanks,
Michael

I don't know of anyway to do this, but like the suggestion. I use the stock
rooms all the time and would love to see the ability to default the check box
and the actual stock room option (A, B or C) by default.

Constraction series parts (Bionicle, HF, SW buildable figures, Slizer, Chima
buildable figures, Ben 10) has really messy categorisation. ATM, there are 4
categories that contain parts from that series, and the way this categorisation
is done isn't best. First and most obvious thing - "Large Figure Torso Armor
2 Chest Holes" (id 90652), which falls off the whole system (mostly, part is
categorised depending on which series presented it first - HF for HF, Bionicle
for Bionicle, Technic for Slizer and Large Figure for any other), being presented
as HF part it's treated as Large Figure one.

But things don't end there. IMO, the way constraction parts are categorised
is really off for Bricklink. What I suggest? We should have 2 categories which
will contain constraction elements: Bionicle-ish ones (parts before 2011), and
CCBS one (constraction parts from 2011 and latter ones), and maybe keep some
ones like socket parts in Technic, but I'm unsure about that. Also maybe
Ben 10 parts should stay in Large Figures, this one is fine to me. This will
suit Bricklink way better than what we have today, IMO.

P.S. If we need to keep things close to what we have today for any reason (having
parts categories based on figure series), I still suggest moving all CCBS to
one single category, their usage is really wide, we can't say about most
of them that it's HF-only part, and part "Technic, Ball Joint 2 x 7 with
2 Ball Joint" (id 32173) should be moved to Bionicle - despite appearing for
first time Slizer, it's too confusing that this part is separated from all
other Bionicle-like parts.

-pattern

Whilst unofficial Stormchaser has drafted up that he does not want to see the
word pattern included for minifig parts and possibly extending that to other
parts in the long term?

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2506

"Excluded Words - The following words should not appear in figure titles: "figure"
and "pattern.""

That refers to figure titles not to figure parts titles.

Either way when I suggested trying to enable people to be able to search for
non decorated/patterned legs like this:-

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1256683

The change was made only to be reverted back because yourself and then other
people looked too deeply into how two-tone somehow had anything to do with dual
molded?

Two-Tone = A visual colour combination made up of two colours
Dual Molded = A manufacturing process

The point being that anything that can help narrow down peoples searches can
only be a good thing

If a notice is sent out for items marked for deletion, why can't it be done
for changes.

There is this: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogReqList.asp?viewAction=I

where you can see and search the entire changelog.

How strange that there are no dates in that list? I would like to see which numbers
have changed but without dates, well, I know nothing. It just becomes a sum-up
of every single part that was once changed..

Just click show dates

Aaah Thanks! I am bookmarking that page right now, because tomorrow I will

This is a good idea however, there can be many changes to item numbers in a day.
The team might become overloaded by changes and notifications. Unless they can
find a way to automate this, this idea is something to look for further in the
future

a checkbox or something inside a wishlist to mark a whole list or individual
parts as "ordered". They wouldn't appear in your wanted part listing, so
you'd see what parts you're actually still missing.

The Apply Order function, kind of, already does that.
It changes the Have quantities in the Wantlist(s).

Price Guide lots that are part of a super lot have (S) next to the quantity.
Lots with a bulk quantity have (xNN) where NN is the bulk quantity.

Please add (tNN) when a lot has a tier discount. "t" for tier and the number
NN is the smallest quantity tier offered for that lot. For example: if a seller's
lot has tiers of 100 and 500 then show (t100)

Having just (T) or (t) in the price guide would be better than nothing.

Thoughts anyone? If a lot has both tier and bulk how about (x,t) with no quantity?

Okay thanks but back to Jennifers point it might work well if you already know

or missing pages? This is the only reason that I would think for having "incomplete"
as an option.

Some instructions have multiple booklets, so if one or more are missing that
would be an "incomplete" set of instructions. For example, if you had only 1
or 2 booklets from the following instruction set and wanted to sell them, how
would you list them?

Instruction No: 31111 Name: Cyber Drone
*
31111-1 Cyber Drone
Instructions: Creator: Model: Space Exploration

Of course this is just an example and not a very good one, I doubt many people
are looking for these. But maybe this one?

Instruction No: 10182  Name: Café Corner {Cafe}
*
10182-1 Café Corner {Cafe}
Instructions: Creator: Creator Expert: Modular Buildings Collection

Duh (smacks forehead).

I have this set and didn't even think about that.

Instruction No: 79003 Name: An Unexpected Gathering
*
79003-1 An Unexpected Gathering
Instructions: The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings: The Hobbit

In my small world, if you wish to be taken seriously when critiquing another's
idea, you are expected to follow-up with an idea of your own

Sorry, I’ve run out of lollipops.

Just an idea I’m putting out there for future consideration because with colour
abbreviations it can give you useful options for catalog use/navigation!

It's a strong idea that's getting some push back. How about...

For color descriptors within the title, just using the color itself
as a small box next to the part within the description, as in the Color Guide?

And then people will have to hover over the patch to know the name of the colour
because the colours are undistinguishable unless they are side to side and named?

Not very practical, I fear.

I like where your thinking is on this, though. To simplify where possible
