Agreed. Have added it to the Catalog Roadmap (currently item 29):

Is there any SOURCE that lists the NUMBER of poly bags in each set, especially
the older sets when the bags were not numbered? Would like to list a set as
“box opened, bags still sealed” but do not know if I am missing any bags. (Set
#7662 (SW: Trade Federation MTT) in particular this time).

For sets from that time period brickshelf is always worth a try.

For example:

And another one:

At first try to weight the whole set and check the BL weight.

Otherwise this link may help you too.https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/lego-star-wars-7662-trade-federation-459893715

91 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 1993
Sets: Town: Classic Town: Traffic

* Change 5 Part Light Gray 2412b Tile, Modified 1 x 2 Grille with Bottom Groove / Lip {Regular to Alternate} {match ID 0 to 2}

Comments from Submitter:
https://forum.brickpirate.net/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=24109 shows 2412a. Set in my personal collection has 2412b so both variants should be in this inventory.

Unfortunately it is not clear if the parts used to build the set for that review
are original. They are definitly not new (at least the technic axle has clearly
visible signs of usage) and the user "TOOL" mentioned somewhere in another review
thread that he sometimes uses two copies of a set for the reviews (a new one
to show the sealed bags and a used one to show the parts and the completed model).
Therefore in this case I would not consider the photos as a reliable source.

Regards,
Jonas

I don't see any parts in that review that look particularly used. The Technic
axle has visible plastic flow lines in it, but I don't see any wear on it.

I have never seen anything like that on a new axle, but you may be right and
then everything is fine.

(Nevertheless I suggest to be careful with pics from that source. Here we can
see the wrong variant

Congratulations on being the first person to get a true Dark Nougat part into
an inventory!

I scrambled for it.

I knew you would.
