I think this part just broke the catalog

If I have both together, the dark grey has a brownish hue compared with the dark
blue grey.

This isn't easy to see in artificial light, impossible for me, i won't
check mine unless I have daylight.

Depends, what do you have?

If it’s post-2005, it’s DBG.
If it’s pre-2004, it’s DG.
In between, well, the Big Colour Shift happened in 2004 but LEGO used their stocks
for a while

You can also check the inventories of your sets. If both greys were used for
a set, it’s generally noted in the inventory (Alternates section).

Also some parts exist only, or are much more frequent, in one dark grey.

The first is folks sending messages directly to my PayPal and BrickLink notifications
email address. Which I don’t check on a regular basis.

Wouldn’t it be better all round if the user email address were hidden? therefore
emails would have to go thru the message system.

Leads to the second. BrickLink notifications are often delayed by two or three
days, then they all come thru together. Which is why I don’t check that mail
box often. Fairly frequently I receive the order placed notification AFTER I
have shipped the order!

I check messages on site, every morning when I first log on.

Also would benefit BrickLink as it would be far more difficult to trade off site,
if anyone were so inclined.

Please give this some consideration, it works well on the other place.

Thanks, Graham

  Which category? Any other specifics for a listing like this?

Anyone know what set it comes from?

I don't know specifically about these but it looks the same as the attached
pic from set 9833

The US/Canada listing on BL shows a different design (although it is the same
spec)

Set No: 9833 Name: AC Adapter, 120V - 10V Transformer
*
9833-2 (Inv) AC Adapter, 120V - 10V Transformer
1 Part, 2000
Sets: MINDSTORMS: NXT

But yours does look like the UK version of 9833 but I assume yours has the US/Canada
pins

Set No: 9833 Name: AC Adapter, 230V - 10V Transformer Type G Plug (British)
*
9833-3 (Inv) AC Adapter, 230V - 10V Transformer Type G Plug (British)
1 Part, 2006
Sets: MINDSTORMS: NXT

Could just be an updated design?

*
49699 Panel 1 x 6 x 4 1/3 with Window and 4 Pin Holes
Parts: Panel

I can't discover anything panel-ish about this part. I'd say it's
window, door, technic, other, vehicle, or pretty much anything except a panel...
What do you think it should be?

Since

Part No: 30528  Name: Arch 1 x 8 x 6 (Portal)
*
30528 Arch 1 x 8 x 6 (Portal)
Parts: Arch
is an arch, 49699 should perhaps just be a slope

I don’t quite follow the logic here
Half an arch might be a slope but, surely, an arch + an inverted arch is not
a slope, it’s a cylinder!

  At least it has something in common with

Part No: 30180  Name: Slope 45 10 x 2 x 2 Double
*
30180 Slope 45 10 x 2 x 2 Double
Parts: Slope

Okay but then it should be a Slope AND a Slope Inverted. And both Double. So
does that make it Quadruple or Double-Double?

We really need a catmin who is used to deep and rigorous classifications.
I don’t know, maybe an entomologist or something like that?

So it's a door/window/panel/technic/vehicle/slope/arch/brick modified/cylinder..
I think this part just broke the catalog

Brickowl has it as: Parts/Uncategorized

So they don't know where to put it either.
