A little late but here is my dog Skragle. I wanted to give him a name that would
be based on something Lego related so I took kragle, from The Lego Movie and
just added an S and I think it fits him perfectly.

I would like to see the simple option to auto-fill the "my cost" during part-setting.
Other fields auto-fill (6 months average-sales of the option to use old remarks,
etc., even old/new average "my cost").

When I am part-setting I like to keep count of the average part-cost. When part-setting
bigger sets I will have to fill these out (copy/paste) 300-400 times, depending
on the lot-count. Absolutely killing my motivation. If I can choose one number
on the first part-out screen, it can be filled-out in the overview. Some lots
I change (baseplates/minifigs/stickersheet are not 6-7 eurocents "cost", but
90% of the lots gets the same number.

I can;t imagine no one has had the idea to implement this before.

Kind regards,
Remko

What a beautiful story, Cory. Sounds like you gave that badger biter the time
of his life.

Before moving, I'd visit a humane society that served as a hub for all shelters
in the valley. I loved the high-energy kennel with the biggest dogs you're
allowed to walk, but also walk the smaller dogs for a quick bowel movement in
parking lot bushes, a block or two. This fat roly-poly kinda thing caught my
eye one day, and we'd walk a little longer every time I stopped by. I guess
he was too fat, because one of the vet-techs told me he'd been put down not
transferred. What a crap day. Sometimes think about whether I would've been
allowed to start a 10 day-hold and other what-ifs. At the end of the day it's
easier just to shrug and say "damn you, world!"

To lighten the mood, here's a few satellite photos of a wild tribe of wolves

It angers me that people seem so uncaring when it comes to domesticated animals.
While I do not have dogs and do not rescue them (have done three in the last
7 years), when I look into their eyes at the Humane Society I see a longing to
have freedom from the pens and to have someone to love that loves them. We have
four new little kitties coming to eat at night (We feed about 8-10 feral cats.)
They get there early so that they have something to eat. Some of the feral
cats seem to bring them one at a time to eat. Goldilocks, who looks like see
is going to die any day now (has looked that way for over two years now) seems
to bring a couple of them. Not sure what to do, if I try to capture one in a
trap I am afraid that the others will not come to eat.
But back to what I started to post about; never go to a shelter to look around
their back rooms. I was looking for a missing outdoor cat and looked in the
shelters "death" room. 80 to 90 cats waiting to be put down. I could never
go back into that room. It still affects me. I asked if I could take some home
and they said sure, but I would have to pay 130-150 dollars for each one. I
cannot forget the cold look in the worker's eyes.
I guess I just ruined my day.

I'm tired. Going to bed, see what dreams await me.

I would really like to see more pics of our member’s pet. What do you think about
showing or introduce your animal companion to the BL membership here on the forum?

I suggest a new forum subtopic, under Off Topic: Pets

Anecdotes and/or pics of your pets? Maybe of interrupting your lego work or other
mischief. Or just an introduction of your nonhuman companion, new or old. What
your pet did today

Even though we don't have furry companions (son's allergies) we really
enjoy animal pics and stories. Think most do, evidenced by it's popularity
on youtube.

What do think? Think there is enough interest to warrant a sub-topic in the forum?

At the time we were asked to take care of him, we were living in Southern Utah
in and around Zion National Park. Our lives during those years were, to say the
least, adventurous. We were trekking, hiking and climbing just about every area
we could reach. Our friends knew this, when they asked us to care of Oscar. I
told them I would think on it. I worried a dog would just not fit our adventurous
life style at the time. Certainly, such a small dog could not hang with us on
our back country treks, I thought.

But, we really wanted to help Jim and Gloria out, and didn’t want to see Oscar
spend a year in doggy prison (hotel) so we agreed to take the responsibility.

Well, it turned out that Oscar with his stubby legs, was one hell of a adventurer!
He hung with us EVERYWHERE. When it came to climbing, his shape fit perfectly
into my climbing-pack with just his head sticking out, and he didn’t seem to
mind just enjoying the view while I struggled

He was overweight when they left him with us, and by the time they returned they
had half the dachshund they had left us with. Oscar really got into shape that
year! He simply loved the outdoors life!

Now here’s the sad part. When Jim and Gloria returned, we left to spend a year
in Stockholm. They told us that Oscar would go everyday to the front door of
our cottage and sit, waiting for us to open the door for him. I guess it’s true,
dogs don’t have the same concept of time, because we were told he did this throughout
the entire year my kids and I were gone.

It remains one of the saddest thoughts in my long life thinking about this. Even
as I type it, tears flow. Silly!

This is not a pic we took. It is the last pic of our friend, Jim and Gloria took
that they sent to us a couple of years later, just before he passed away...

Pets make the world a better place and D is doing everything she can to save

Just had to give her a shout out.

What great kid your friend Jodi has!

You should get her okay to give her first name, for a proper shoutout.

Thanks for sharing Ginny. I've placed your store on our most favorites list,
I'd like to show support with some business. I assume little Ms. D helps
out with the store, as my kids did at that age.

Captain Q approves.

Here are two kittens I am keeping of a 4 kitten litter I saved from living a
life as feral cats; named Tenshi and Quark. I found them while feeding some
feral cats. They were too young to capture right away, around 5 weeks, so I
pre-socialized them on the outside with wet food and playing with a cat favorite
toy, the fake bird on a string and stick. Had to do it at night as apartment
management disapproves of feeding the feral cats. Took some night vision video,
that I have not gotten around to editing yet.

Just noticed that the picture is rotated the wrong way, will leave it as is,
because it amuses me.

Regards,
Captain Q

Looks like they've got a good life, now.

How you brought them into your life. I gotta say you're a very patient man,
Quinton

Very cool names, too!

I remember you having a big family, Frank. 15+ years... he must of been a major

So sorry for the loss of your pet. Or should I say family member. Death
touches all in different ways. When it comes to a pet it lingers with you for
ever. But time does help to think of the companionship and the love between
the two of you and what was added to your life.

She's lovely!

I think Stray is as good a name as any other. It's a reminder of where she
came from, and your role in taking care of her

A pretty rough family moved away and left her behind around six years ago. Since
then she has spent most of her life on my bed or on top of me.

I think it's a great idea! I love my fur family, which has grown into 6
dogs and 1 cat, all rescues from terrible conditions. The only place off limits
is the Lego room, otherwise they rule the roost.

Awesome! Much respect Darcy, for taking-in and caring for so many rescue animals.
Placed your store on our favorites list, I like to support people such as yourself.

I've gotta know, though How does the lone cat fare among the 6 dogs?

BTW, I really like your store's Splash page, beautiful!

-Cory

Thank you Cory! LOL, as for Kita Kitty, if anyone ever told him he wasn't
a dog, he'd probably be devastated.

He's been with dogs since he was a few hours old, vet said he'd never survive and the kindness thing would be to euthanize him, yeah, wasn't happening. While we humans did the feeding,
dogs took care of the messy part. Now he's a healthy adult and a full blown member of the pack.

I love this! He is beautiful, and you are beautiful, Darcy! (regardless of my
bias, my youngest sister being named Darcy)

Uses the doggy door to potty, no kitty litter here ewww, and doesn't leave the fenced yard. Fears no one, except my 4 lb, Chi, but everybody fears him, so no surprise there.

It's always the smallest ones! It's the "Napoleon complex" for dogs

Back to your original suggestion, I'd like to reiterate, I think it's
a great idea. I learned more about some of my fellow members in 1 day, than
I have in the 15 years I've been here. Obviously everyone here has a love
for Lego, but your pet idea is a great ice breaker. Most members only come here
when they have a question, problem or complaint. Your suggestion would give
interested members a place to take a break, especially from sorting (sigh), lighten
the mood a little and get to know each other a little better.

A beautiful cat. Great job saving his life. Never give up on saving a life.
I got a kitten at one day old and saved her.
John P

Is that her in your profile pic? Looks like she feels very safe & content, thank
you for saving her. Wish more people would realize their lives have value and
learn to be more responsible.

Animal rescue has become very important to me, especially with the shelters being
overwhelmed and the number of healthy animals being euthanized every day. Not
to mention abuse cases/dumping happening in record numbers. Personally, I know
I can't afford to take on anymore and still give them the proper care they
need and deserve. So myself, and a bunch of others in the same situation donate
each month to pay the fees for at risk animals in a local kill shelter. Once
the fees are covered they become eligible for free adoptions or to be pulled
by a rescue. Not ideal by any means, but we're able to save some. Just
a thought to anyone who might read this, there are ways to help, you can advocate
to raise awareness, donate to your local shelter, foster, if you see something
say something, adopt don't shop and above all else spay/neuter. Now that
I sound like an infomercial I'll stop talking.

Darcy

All good points, Darcy.

John & his wife, have been committed to helping the homeless cat population in
his area for some time now. He is what I would call a warrior of that cause.
For cats anyway.

I would really really really like to see a message when you try to list an item
in a colour that it wasn’t ever known to be in a set. This would cut down on
the HUGE number of mislisted incorrect colours. It would be a huge help. And
those of us that are really listing rare non-production colours would probably
be fine with clicking the “yes, I know this is crazy rare, I want to list it
“ button. The known colours info is already on the site, but many BL sellers
are obviously not looking at it.

For example, if I open a specific wanted list and sort it by item number, then
every next list I open will also be sorted by item number until I set it back
to "item name."

However, no matter how many times I open the master wanted list, i.e. my list

the page the sorting is set back to "newest."

It would be really great if this could be... sorted out.

Thanks and sorry if this has been brought up before.

Yeah, this annoys me too. So "YES!"

We both mean in the forum thread listings, not the forum posts. Unless you click

Thanks, Caleb! I knew I'd seen it somewhere.

That is seen his posted suggestion: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1095612

For this reason i put [UK] at the start of the subject when I re-announce the
sales i'm always having.
A flag would be very useful - i'm always a fan of standardisation.

I actually almost suggested this the other day. I would love to not have to click
on the posts as I rarely buy outside the USA.

You've got my vote.

Okay, I think I understand you both. You're referring to when you land on

In which case, a very good and useful suggestion! Voted yes

I've thought this for a long time now; I agree and for exactly the same reasons.
It's a shame, as some U.S. sellers have great part-lists and excellent sales
- all negated by postage, import duty and P.O. charges (that are generally MUCH
higher than the actual duty).

A type of reverse want list. That is, a way that sellers could peruse the current
want lists to specific buyer's needs, to then as a seller, proactively engage
members like Wayne with offers on items they have on their want list.

Kinda like amping-up the want list and selling process, by getting the sellers
more involved in increasing their sales by actually selling

It's just a rough draft of an idea. Limitations, restriction and other refinements
of the idea, expected.

But hey, BL shot-callers, it speaks directly to upping the sales numbers!

After receiving emails of encouragement, critic, praise and ideas regarding this

Many times i search for a decorated items (xxxxPBxx for an exemple).
Exemple
I have this one :
2440pb002 / https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=2911#T=C

But it sadly never appears when we search for 2440 (what's only written on
the part)

And that's only thanks a long search on some other website that i finally
could find it on brickink.

So, is it possible to add all those sub-serial numbers to the normal search

For an exemple it could be a new COLOR category : decorated.
Or as for my exemple, it is a black part with decoration, so to put it in the
BLACK color.
Thanks a lot in advance

So basically having Goatleg.com as a feature to Bricklink
or try searching 2440*
Then it will list all 2440 items decorated or not.

WOULD HELP A LOT in searches.

best wishes and long live your fabulous website

To narrow it down further - click Market, then click Search, then use this criteria
to find any decorated 2440 in black.

Only the ones inventoried to a set will show, but this definitely helps when
you're looking for a specific decorated item in a certain color as some of
the parts like tiles have a ton of decorated variations of all colors.

Hello

Thanks for your answers
I didnt know the * tip after a serial number.
It works great

Still, that might be helpful i think if for the 2440 (exemple), they all appear
in the color list may they be decorated or not

Nice day to everyone

Thank you! That's exactly the thing i wanted to say.

A little more complicated, but without the intense spamming:

BL builds in a kind of public tender system.
Buyers can then issue a tender by adding their WL (or parts of it) and defining
how long the sellers can participate (5 days, 30 days...) and who can participate
(worldwide or just particular countries, only sellers with minimum 99% praise
and so on).

Then the sellers have the possibility to add items to their offer (from their
inventory and/or by adding it "manually") and to adjust the price if they want
to. Until the offer is accepted/rejected by the buyer or cancelled, all items
in the offer are "locked".

Good input. Great thoughts!

(sorry for the bad English)

Your English is very good, Phillip. Impressive, in fact.

Cory,

I have read through this thread and it appears that there is lack of transparency
for sellers on what parts buyers need, what parts sell well and so forth. Personally,
I have a lot of wanted lists that I have no intention on fulfilling. Many of
them are remnants of what I was interested in at a given moment and I personally
just have not gone to delete them for various reasons, mainly being a low priority.
This problem alone would create a lot of dead end work for the seller trying
to fulfill a wanted list that the buyer has no intention in fulfilling. There
are many other practical reasons for wanted lists that buyers use them for, to
serve as a reminder of parts to look for in stores when they need to pad their
cart to meet minimum, but not necessarily an critical item they need to buy.
Those could be just nice to have parts if an opportunity arrises, so as not to
pay additional shipping just for those part(s).

Having been a seller, I understand the frustration of what to stock up on, and
I know the main advice is quantity, variety, highly desirables and high turn
overs. The problem is that Bricklink attracts people from all sorts of corners
of the world with wide range of needs.

The other problem with Wanted lists and stores is that even though the Wanted
List search function looks for stores with say most unique lots or a combination
search, the buyer is still tasked with trying to find a combination of stores
with best value (cost of parts vs cost of shipping). BL used to find stores with
cheapest cost, but I believe that was removed soon after it was implemented,
as in a long term it was causing price erosion for sellers, which is a valid
concern.

All in all, it's a balancing act of sellers and buyers doing their part,
with the sellers obviously carrying the financial burden of cost of inventory,
time and labor. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into it. I have carried
the burden for about 2-3 years, and I got burned out.

I think seller's tools would be very welcome for sellers in understanding
what parts sell well in their store and what parts are up rising/falling in demand.
Obviously with such tools, it would create more fierce completion amongst sellers
to provide best selling inventor, which in turn would change the behavior of
buyers and ultimately the demand of parts. Essentially what Youtube is currently
doing by changing their algorithm, which is changing what people watch and changing
the game ever so frequently.

I no longer have much at stake in selling, but as an infrequent buyer, I still
use this site and change is needed to keep up with expectations of both buyers
and sellers.

Good read, Miro. Astute.

Thanks for your well-thought-out input.

Kinda miss your voice around here. Your posts are infrequent nowadays, or maybe
I'm just not looking in the right places

just have not gone to delete them for various reasons, mainly being a low priority.

I no longer have much at stake in selling, but as an infrequent buyer, I still
use this site and change is needed to keep up with expectations of both buyers
and sellers.

we just randomly add as we see fit.

Best regards
Philipp (sorry for the bad English)

At the wanted lists "home page" there's obviouly the list of all your wanted
lists. But on the left, there's a menu where you can click on different part
catagories, set themes, minifigure themes, and such to see what you want from
that subsection across all your wanted lists. I would like the ability to filter
this to look at certain lists and not others, simular to when you're looking
at a store and can choose which wanted lists you want to buy for. I have 18 lists
and it is a little crowded and difficult to compare 2-4 lists with all that extra
information.

When looking at items in a store there are several options on how to sort the
items (price, quantity, color, etc). I would like a RECENTLY UPDATED option to
be added. This is simular to the RECENTLY ADDED, but not quite.

Recently it took me a few days to finalize a cart and I noticed price and quantity
changes for items in my cart. So I went back to the store to see if pieces I
thought were too expensive had gone down or if more pieces were added to an item
I wanted more of. But I couldn't find an easy way to see this without going
through every item again (which takes a while then there are hundreds of items
in my wantedlists/cart).

The RECENTLY ADDED option just shows when a piece was first added, not updated.
For instance the store I was in, said the most recent item was added in 2012.
This shows a false sense of inactivity which is obviouly wrong when stuff is
changing in my cart and this store has fulfilled thousands of orders. This additional
option would help people like me in simular situations, those who have recently
bought from the store and want to buy again, or who are adding to an order over
the next week or so (I see alot of store allowing this).

I think also there should be sanctions where this appears to be deliberate. If
you make a mistake (such as listing new when it has been used) and it is reported
and BL agrees, then it's fine and you should learn from it. If you make that
same mistake again (say within six months or a year), then you get a week's
ban from selling. If you do it again after that, it's a month ban.

Maybe with different limits for bigger stores / higher turnover stores.

Unless this already exits in some form (if it do, please inlighten me as to how
it works!), I suggest a button for “show items on wanted lists” when visiting
stores. Quite often when I’m visting stores, browsing around for additional items,
I stumble upon items marked as “on want list”. It would be a lot easier if it
was possible to just see all items in store that are already on my wanted lists,
instead of having to search through 100’s of pages in different categories...
I am aware of the whole ‘buy wanted items’ auto function, so it’s not that I’m
missing... It’s more when already committed to a store, I wanna stock up and
save on postage.

Thanks for an otherwise excellent site!

Can't go wrong in quoting Aristotle.

In fact I think the phrase should be adopted as a motto of the forum, to be hung
across the top of the page. It would be a beacon of idea, for forum users. Sadly,
I don't think many of the "regulars" would embrace it as their credo. For
too many of us, the guiding beacon is 'being right' or more succinctly,
'not to be perceived as being wrong'

I will say after reading your posts for some time, you don't seem to suffer
the same frailty of character. I think I posted some time back "who is this masked
man" out of admiration of your character. It might of been you, there are actually
several forum regulars that display such grace, just not all.

Anyway, we are taking a drive through the Northern Cascades, hopefully today.
Gotta get my coffee on, and my offspring up and going.

A joke, right. I'm to respect his opinions because he's one of the forum

me of one's gravitas.

There's no need to be so relentlessly dismissive.

Do you mean, not to be as dismissive as was he in his initial reply to a posted

He is a smart man who I do respect. But sorry to burst the bubble of you and

Sylvain's vast experience in the matter.

For me, Sylvain is an intelligent blarney. Gifted, yes. But not experience enough

Trolls are misunderstood creatures. It’s just not acceptable to use their identity
in a derogatory manner. It’s racist or something? Like, OMG

Sorry, just an attempt at humor

As to the name calling “troll” I don’t mind that you do so, Crystal. Nor did
I mind when Sylvain replied to my posted suggestion, by opening-up with the signature
Sylvain Slam...

In my opening statement
"an idea that briefly visited my headspace some time ago"

Sylvain’s opening statement in reply:
"No, no, you tempter, I won’t ask if it felt alone in there!"

You may have noticed (that is if you haven’t overly used the ignore feature)
that all the others that posted their honest thoughts and critics, received only
honest, positive replies, or no reply from me. I try to be positive and build
others up, but some simply need a spanking (not in the way you're thinking,
Sylvain! I like you, but not in that way )

I don’t mind the banter, and I still enjoy reading your inputs. I am sorry you’ve
been tamed here in the forum, I miss the old Crystal. The one that expressed
her strong unabashed opinions. Can I please say hello to her again. Can she come
out and play?

To those that have no problem using the ignore feature, I would encourage it
be used on my profile. For a self-serving reason, though: it's just one less
sourpuss I'll have to deal with in my posts, is the way I've seen it
for some time, now.

I agree. But in all fairness we can't ignore the question in the back of
our minds: When is this guy finally going to buy some more LEGO?

My wallet has the reverse question

Though getting around 700€ of LEGO for around 15€ thanks to coupons and destocking
made us both quite happy a couple months ago

Wow! Then my question changes... Why is this guy not selling any LEGO?

What, with all the problems you sellers continuously whine about on the forum?

Besides, MY precious, MINE!

You're here discussing its problems out of your own free will, who's
silly now?

Yet another good point.

Great input, Rachel. Thanks!

Sorry my pet,

That’s not funny. That’s insulting.

I don't know what you're babbling about here in your sleep
deprived state

And another insult.

Here is what I actually said "I really don't know if I'll take your advise
on this particular question, as earnestly as I would some others here. You've
got no skin in the game, as they say."

And I said, several times:
1. Buyers are a part of the selling game. Or please explain to me to whom would
you send those notifications and who’s gonna pay for the orders?
Might I remind you sellers only get a bit more than 97% of the money whereas
buyers pay 100%.
2. You linked a message from a 0-fb buyer as motive for this idea.

  [… other insults …]

Can’t you just even answer arguments with counter arguments? Do you have to
always resort to condescension and making fun of people in every discussion you
take part?

I thought this time would be different because you started the thread but I was
wrong. You still believe it’s some sort of game of which you’re the best player
and in which you can loftily praise and admonish.
You’re just a bully.

Kinda like amping-up the want list and selling process, by getting the sellers

gallic friend, as a non seller and not much of a buyer (it
would appear from your history here) I really don't know if I'll take
your advise on this particular question, as earnestly as I would some
others here. You've got no skin in the game, as they say.

You’re talking about sellers reaching to buyers. I’d have thought buyers’ opinions
would be of interest to you.
But maybe it’s a cultural thing. After all, EU is opt-in while the USA are opt-out.
Recipients like to be in the loop here, not treated like kettle/cattle….

Besides, if you only consider sellers or very frequent buyers then I don’t understand
why you linked the message of a zero feedback buyer as a motive for your idea.
Or is there a “too much but not enough” range of buyers you’re excluding?

But I am glad you came out to play with me again

Make up your mind: you just said you don’t want me and my kind on the field

"you and your kind?" Feeling persecuted, are you? No, my dove. To me you are
one-of-a-kind.

Once again, make up your mind.

You said you didn’t want to consider my opininon because I’m a non seller, neither
0- nor “enough”- (whatever that would be) FB buyer. I thought that applied to
all non sellers, neither 0- nor “enough”- (whatever that would be) FB buyers,
or even all buyers-only.
Doesn’t that fall under the phrase “me and my kind”?

Sorry my pet, I don't know what you're babbling about here in your sleep
deprived state

Here is what I actually said "I really don't know if I'll take your advise
on this particular question, as earnestly as I would some others here. You've
got no skin in the game, as they say."

And now you’re saying I’m alone. So it’s only my opinion you don’t want to consider?

Alone As stated clearly, it's opinion from those that actually "have skin
in the game" (something to lose or gain) and experience that I'll take more
earnestly than your opinion, in this matter. If by alone you mean the only one
that fits the aforementioned description to reply to the post, then yes, I guess
you are alone, for now anyway

So, either you don’t want me-and-my-kind’s opinion or you don’t want my opinion.
That’s not my feeling persecuted, that’s your dismissing my opinion.

It’s your right not wanting to care about someone’s opinion but, besides being
inconsistent with first having asked everyone’s opinions, you can’t both say
you don’t care about someone’s opinion and then deny you said it.

And, by the way, stop giving me names. I’m not your pigeon or any other pet.
That’s condescending.

So it's over between us then

But why all the hostility, are we not best of friends

Seems to me your best friend is liquid and bubbly.

If you're referring to booze, unfortunately no longer considered a friend
of mine. Stopped even my occasional beer consumption. Nope, this is sober clear-eyed
popsicle speaking. I actually think I'd enjoy your witless repartee better,
if I were a few beers into what is a boring convo.

You used to be fun, my fine forest creature. What happened?

It's the middle of the night for you in France. Try not to dwell on thoughts
of me, and what I think. Get some sleep...

Don’t mind my sleep, I sleep like a baby: I wake up every other hour and I cry.

Or maybe this one: I sleep very well, some nights I even sleep more than once!

Could be good, could be evil too.

As was already discussed, spamming would be bad .

Best would be to get a daily/weekly briefing by mail on which shop own most of
the WL we have defined according to some preferences (country, condition, ...)
WITH also extra suggestions outside search criteras as a bonus and smart addition
to a simple matching algorithm.

These extra would be separated from the others, quite the same as what ebay does.

I don't think so, sharing WL AFAIU it is send WL to a buddy for instance,
you know, kind of BL awesome new feature, quite far from what you've suggested.

No, no, you tempter

You have me to a tee

I won’t ask if it felt alone in there!

I don't see how? There are plenty of personalities up there to keep any visitor,
company

A type of reverse want list. That is, a way that sellers could peruse the current
want lists to specific buyer's needs, to then as a seller, proactively engage
members like Wayne with offers on items they have on their want list.

Kinda like amping-up the want list and selling process, by getting the sellers

It's just a rough draft of an idea. Limitations, restriction and other refinements
of the idea, expected.

But hey, BL shot-callers, it speaks directly to upping the sales numbers!

Hmm, let’s see if I understand correctly.

Now, the buyer can search the stores that have the most items for their WLs.
They need to actualize their search from time to time to see if new sellers /
better matches appear.

And you’d want that search to be automatized so that the buyer receive a notification
for their whole WL?

If that’s it, when will that notification be sent? When the WL is X% fulfill(able)?
— If X is too high, many WLs will never have such a notification.
— If X is too low, that could make for a lot of notifications.

Or do you just want the search to be reversed, that a seller actively search
for WLs they can fulfill with their inventory?

Here again, percentage of fulfillment could be what makes it useful or spamful.

Anyway, I’m not sure it’s very different from the already existing WL notification
system except it would be for several parts at once, not one by one.
I rarely use that, indeed because that would cause too many notifications for
common parts and it doesn’t tell me if the seller has other parts, so adding
that multiple parts feature could be interesting. Though I’m not sure I would
opt in: it’s as easy to make a search from time to time.

A related question: Can’t sellers easily see on how many WLs their parts are
so that they can decide when to send notifications?
I mean, do you have to browse all your inventory part by part to have this info?

It's sounds like you've been working on it, keep it up!

Wayne's post and others like it, https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1150409
brings to mind an idea that briefly visited my headspace some time ago:

A type of reverse want list. That is, a way that sellers could peruse the current
want lists to specific buyer's needs, to then as a seller, proactively engage
members like Wayne with offers on items they have on their want list.

Kinda like amping-up the want list and selling process, by getting the sellers
more involved in increasing their sales by actually selling

It's just a rough draft of an idea. Limitations, restriction and other refinements
of the idea, expected.

But hey, BL shot-callers, it speaks directly to upping the sales numbers!

-Cory

As long as I could opt out of it, I would be all for it. I don't need sellers
spamming me with offers of things on my want list.

Of course, always the ability to opt-out, I agree.

Very good input, Randy

I think it would rather be on an opt in basis, because doing it by default would
be privacy violation.

Agreed.

Reminds me of the trouble Amazon is in over looking into its sellers sales data.
Frickin Bezos!
Anyway, not a bad idea, when it's based on buyers explicitly choosing to publish their wanted list.

Again, agreed, Great idea.

Anyway, seller tools was cancelled, so there's not much chance for this
or any other smart suggestion over the past years to see the light of day. Better
to try it over at BO, they certainly like to discuss such ideas and look into
options of implementation.

Well....I don't know BO, but I do know Law. Let's just say, you should
take it up with him, he'll hear it coming from you more than from me

Sadly, "coming soon" has a different meaning to BL:

In the Game category, there should be sub-categories, like 'Bionicle'
and 'LEGO Games', but I think they would add it anyway if someone used
the 'Add or Change' feature and set it up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

little market for used game sets? In either case, I felt disappointed in the
absence of such a category.

I've always followed a couple of rules that at some point i have read on
these forums:
If you can't find a set - check "Gear"
If you can't find a part - check "Fabuland"

Sets that look like sets, but aren't, are usually gear.

I voted NO. It's already there under main category 'Gear'.

Thanks.

  Hi.
Is it possible to create a list after the checkout, in which the wish lists can
be recognized, where the parts came from?
Maybe with a new function?
Would be great!

I believe a simple note for each lots of the order with "WL AAAAAAA". I have
also issues remembering why I order some parts sometimes (no, nothing related
to Alzheimer ), especially when it takes a few weeks.

Also, code from cart view could be re-use for order, to have the WL on the left
side, with checkboxes to watch only a subset at a time, inside each indidual
order.

And ultimately the same display with all orders, date filter (+ seller, country
of origin, whaterver filtering you need), order woud be picked according to item
from selected WL and highlighted in the order on a pop-up displayed page.

  Hi.
Would it be possible to add a function that would allow us (buyers) to check
our orders part by part? (using a hook or something like that)?
For more than 100 parts it's always very cumbersome, with printing lists
or something like that.
It would be great!

Did you notice the "temporary checkboxes" link at the bottom of the order details
page?

oh, no, not yet. Where do I find the "order details page"?
I just know the order placed page...

It would be so much easier if BrickLink could connect to Royal Mail and download
orders like you can on eBay. I’d be happy to pay a little more on fees to accommodate
it.

Also if the shipping could be a little easier, I used to prefer the old way of
selecting a country, but I know the change was for auto invoicing etc.

Is there any guide that can help me or suggestions on making things easier?

Even if the order download would include addresses like it does on Brickowl it
would make things simpler. Just download as a CSV and upload into RM click and
drop.
