In the forum I may see a red box under a seller's name. I hover over it
and it says
"Seller does not ship to my country"

The alert is to warn you don't need to enter the store at all.

I go to their store, and the message at the top is "Seller does not ship to me".

It alerts it's pointless to browse the shop further.

I can't help it, the second message hurts my feelings!

Is there any way we can make the messaging consistent with the actual reason
I can't buy in their store? (Country/Person?)

Both are different intended so don't need to be the same.

It'd be nice with a link to the feedback for a purchase from the price guide
of a product, to get an idea of how happy the buyer/seller was with the purchase
for the price they gave.

It would be against privacy laws.

The feedback from the seller is already available for viewing.

  Hey folks!

I think this option is counter-productive for buyers. (See image below)

Sellers are allowed to turn off the display of cart weight in their store, even
if the buyer has chosen to see cart weight.

This means that if buyers are cost-of-shipping-sensitive, they have to manually
calculate the cart weight, or ask the seller for a quote.

Why force this upon ourselves when the website can automatically do it for us?

I suggest we force sellers to have the weight of cart shown within their store.

Thanks for voting!

Miffy..

Have you read the **note, item weights aren't guaranteed correct.

In my opinion the largest problem of the Bricklink page is that the final shipping
costs are often unknown till the invoice. It is much too late. I suggest calculating
the maximum shipping costs before the final checkout.
Let me display an example:
The buyer Alice orders parts which weigh 80 grams. The seller Bob states that
the shipping costs are 3 EUR up to 100 grams and 4 EUR up to 200 grams. Bob means
the TOTAL weight while from Alice's point of view the weight of packing materials
is unknown and never stated. This way Alice doesn't know the final price.
(Btw. I suppose it is against the EU law.)

Once I have come across such a case that in seller's opinion the maximum
net weight of parts was about 30 grams to keep the total weight below 100 grams!
Is it fair and clear?

I can see the following solutions:
(i) suggest the buyers to state their shipping costs precisely, in terms of net
weight of parts or dimensions of parts

The catalog doesn't have correct dimensions.
Postage for 80 gram flowers is letter rate while 80 gram of Burps is parcel rate.

(ii) apply automatic calcultion of maximum shipping costs on the checkout page
so that the seller couldn't apply higher costs.
The latter one is much better.

I would not prefer to be charged the highest rate automatically.

If your goal is to go to the item in catalog, the picture you go to first makes
no difference.

If your goal is to see a bigger picture of the item, you still have to click
again, why not go straight to larger picture?

Voted yes.

I actually like ebay system of being able to rank item/communication/shipping

Ebay or any star rating system is too subjective, determining what is a 4 or
5 is subjective. It's easier to just say what you mean.

Here you can leave a positive and mention slow shipping. (assuming you mean the
moment of shipping by the seller was slow or when the carrier was slow at processing
the shipment after the seller shipped fast the order).

Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/
Basebrick: http://www.basebrick.com/login.php
Brickstock: http://brickstock.patrickbrans.com/#download

Goodluck

thank you M Boss, after looking at all 3 I have decided to go with basebrick
as it seems the easiest to add too, but I would still like to see something like
this on bricklink so your parts are listed next to the amount the seller has
in his shop

Add items to a Wantlist and use the Have feature.

You can upgrade to seller and keep the store closed.

As I understand it, BL sellers and buyers are earning BL several million quid
a year via commission. Can I humbly suggest that some of this profit is redirected
into giving the platform an active customer support staff that is available 24-hours
per day. That such a site relies on volunteers to keep the wheels greased is
a bit perverse given the circumstances.

The site does not run on volunteers, only the forum and the catalog does (translators
of pages as well).
Development and Admin tasks are run by 'professionals' (= paid staff).
A 24/7 service just on the Admin team would require 4x as much people (8 in stead
of 2) to cover a full week, I doubt Bricklink is making enough to cover that
(considering there is also an IT team working during workdays)
And if you check online, BL is not making 'several' million per year.
I can't access US tax reports, but I'm sure a larger US seller can obtain
actual figures?

There have been almost 1.3 million orders in the last 12 months. At a $40 per
order average, that's $52,000,000. The 3% fee on that is $1,560,000 USD.

Average order is much lower

Mine certainly is.

What is the big emergency that can't wait for the Admins to finish sleeping
and have their breakfast?

It is not a matter of finishing sleep and having breakfast. The auto-finder
tool, an integral part of the site and an essential tool for buyers finding your
parts, is often down. In this particular case, it has been down since Friday...
I myself have submitted two different tickets, one under Help and one under Bug
Report, and i have yet to receive a response or any sort of ticket number to
follow up on.

As a new seller myself, this is concerning to me, and it makes me wonder if I
should bother investing time in building up a store on this site, or if doesn't
make sense
to try and use another site like BrickOwl.

As a relatively new user to both buying and selling, i'd like more experience
users to chime in. Is there really no recourse? Anyone have an email of the
admins?

Luckily they haven't removed the good old Classic By Shop, it is still available
and works: https://www.bricklink.com/wantedShop.asp?showOld=Y&wantedMoreMultiple=Y&qs=

overview.
I always use 'sort by price and group by month' (consolidated currencies).
These options should remain.

So my suggestions for the price guide of a part in a certain color:

-As a seller I would like to see my data (price and quantities) at the top part
of the screen, or at the top of a month.

-Most of the time I am not immediately interested in each separate entry (sold
or available). I would prefer an overview of quantities per price. So instead
of seeing 10 separate entries for each transaction where the part sold for 0.01,
there would only be one entry per price. This will hopefully shorten the overview
somewhat.
--condense/collapse the separate entries to one per price
--it should be possible to click on the condensed/collapsed entry to see
all individual entries

Is this what you want?

Hello Admin,

Please add the Community tab back on top of the page when in a store.

To go to Community now we have to either click the Bricklinklogo and end up at
the homepage or click the MyBL link and end up at My Profile and then we see
the Community tab.

Preferrable add the Search too.

I know what you mean OP. From where I sit, there is no option for "condition,
then number". For myself I would love "condition, remarks, number" .

I also notice that my spreadsheet doesn't sort 123 and 123a in the right
order so I have to take an extra step to make that work.

Instead I see a "minimum purchase" total.

So you have to go to each store and check, or to the price guide, which doesn't
make a quick buy that quick.

Could we change this?

Yes please.

This has been mentioned multiple times and should already have been added.
They want us to use the Auto-Finder or Buy Now feature.

Some sellers don't have anything listed in the terms and conditions and nothing
listed in thes shipping section. Instead everything is posted in their splash
page. This gives those sellers the ability to change their terms and shipping
rates at anytime without the buyer being able to go back and look at the terms/shipping
when they made their purchase.

The only method to prove what the terms were is to make a screenshot of the splash
page when the purchase is made. Then the burden of proof is on the buyer to
prove that the screenshot was the terms/shipping policy when the purchase was
made.

Please start keeping a history of the splash page. For sellers that externally
host their splash page maybe and automatic daily screenshot can be captured and
retained as the terms/shipping policy for the day.

Or simply don’t take the splash page as proof of anything and state that only
what’s on the terms page counts.

Some sellers have the terms and shipping policies completely blank. So there
is nothing to rely upon.

If you want I can PM you an example. I don't want to publicly announce the
seller.

You should inform those sellers that they should state fees etc on their Terms
page.

All additional fees other than shipping and insurance must be stated here.
Please keep your terms clear and to the point. Your terms are also displayed
to a buyer on checkout prior to placing an order.

Maybe this topic was a long time ago, but I would like to ask if you think that
payment via paypal should be immediate after the order is placed. Many of you

I prefer items in order accuracy over instant payment at checkout.

As a seller, this would be very nice to be able to leave feedback in bulk.

Also, being able to create a few preset feedback message that also can be randomly

I would say just get rid of the feedback system and just track the number of
completed transactions. Allow users to leave public comments about the buyer
or seller but don't force them to when they have nothing to say.

It's already possible to leave feedback without a comment.

Where is that on “By shop”?

See picture below.

That’s in the Wanted List. The same you can do in the new Wanted List with “more
options / Show items for sales.”
(See pic.)

That confirms what I said: OP talked about missing prices in the Buy page, there’re
no prices in the By Shop page either. You want to show item for sales for a Wanted
List, you can do that either in the new or classic.
No functionality lost.

Indeed.
Viewing prices optionally there prices would be an awesome functionality.

  […]
  How do you do that?
On the “Buy” page, I just click on the item and it becomes “Required” and the
list of stores is updated. How do I do that on “By shop”?

In the Classic you can move/copy a part into a Priority list.

There’re no parts shown on the “By Shop” page. So that means you are talking
about creating a new list. That’s managing your WLs, not changing on the spot
in the Buy page what you selected to search shops for.

And not only is it on the spot in the Buy page, it’s also different, because
a new WL, whatever you call it, is still treated like the other WLs in By Shop:
either you’re looking for it or you’re not. With “Required” lots, you can still
search for multiple WLs at the same time with some elements being mandatory.
(See pic.)

I can select individual items and mix items from several WLs. “By shop” only
allows to select entire WLs, doesn’t it?

No, you can click a part and move/copy or delete it. […]

Still managing WLs, not the selection to search for, like you can do in the Buy
page.

Yes, the “forget the settings every time” is a PITA.

Actually this is easier possible with the classic version.

I don’t say the new version is perfect. There’re bugs and UI problems. I have
criticized it and I always advise not to use the AutoFinder.
But if someone wants to criticize it by comparing it to the classic one, at least
compare what’s comparable: the old Wanted List page to the new Wanted List page,
the old By Shop page to the new Buy page.

New Wanted and Buy pages might be designed fancy, the problem with both is that
they don't show any prices.

Wanted does show prices (and the sorting problems even seem to have been fixed).

It would be solved if it would be possible to show/hide prices.

It would be solved if it would be possible to show/hide prices.

I'm really struggling with the functionality of the new wanted lists. It
just doesn't work. The most frustrating part is when I click on a part in
classic I can see all the sellers with that part and the price. Now all I see
is the minimum buy and have to click on each seller to see the cost (annoying).

He's on this page: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/shop.page where prices
are not shown.

If you click on a part (’s ID, nothing else works) in the (new) Wanted List,
you’re sent to the part’s page.
Unless you’re talking about the “Buy” page.

If you want to see the stores that have your parts, you need to click “More options”
link between the search box and the completeness-percentage in your Wanted List
page (the one showing your items before you click “Buy”). Then you click on “Show”
on the top right corner, just under “Items for Sale.” Don’t forget to click “Apply.”

I'm choosey about which international locations I purchase my items from
and don't like the fact the information required to allow me to make these
decisions has been removed and i'm now reliant on a robot to decide that
for me if I don't want to write everything down. […]

The information is still there. Use the proper filters, either in the Wanted
List “more” options or the “Buy” settings.

You don’t have to use “Buy.” And if you use “Buy,” you don’t have to use the
“Auto Finder”: you can use it as “Ye Olde By Shoppe” with a bit more options
to edit and prioritize wanted lots.

You just need to read the meager help there is and experiment a lot with the
UI.

  Hello, Admins

I sell all the parts from sets, but keep the minifigs.
Would it be possible to add a third option to the "Price Guide\Part Out Value\Include"
drop down that excludes the minifig parts?

This will allow me to obtain an average price for only the parts of a set and
sell them as one lot.

Many thanks and regards,
Dan

  Hello Jaclyn,

about a year ago brinklink killed my main workflow. I've send you my complaints
and you reativated the old wanted list so I could somehow come allong (see below).

The situation did not change and you are going the same way again.

Let me tell you that I'm amazed about how you ignore your users feedback.
I don't understand why you did not start a conversion with me to find out
my needs. I feel such a lack of respect that I consider croudfunding an alternative!

It looks to me that you designed the wanted list for building models according
to part lists.

It's designed to use with something called Stud.Io.

My use of the wanted list has always been this:
- I build MOCs and I know which parts in which colors I use. I am looking for
good offers.
So I look thru the old wanted list, find a good offer, go to the shop, select
the items on my wanted list and decide whether I buy on the amount of usefull
parts for good prices.
This is by the way what you destroyed too last year: I always have to scan all
wanted list items instead of only that with the right price.

I wish you start going for satisfying your users needs instead of just keeping
your maintenance cost low by dropping partly duplicated content.

Best regards
Torsten

you will need to buy for different shops. It might be 1 shop or 2,3, it will
show as many shops as needed to get all parts you need.

Here a example...

because they don't see the same things. The website is already so large and

But I know how Bricklink are trying to get us to embrace new changes a little

of the long time users that run as a full on professional business, may find
it really difficult.

Instead of forcing it upon all members. Maybe make it that all new members that
register from say 1st June will not get access to old lists etc, they will only
see the new lists and they will not even know any different!

Already possible. Click the balloon or link below the page 'Show entire thread

Also what's the point of "RE: what's this?" showing up 17

Already there. Click the 'Without repliedls' on top of the page.

If it gets a reply, the post should go bold so that readers know there is a new

Yes it is. Posts change colour when read.

I've never tried on a desktop or laptop.

Try it.

Voted no. The part prices should be what you think it's worth, not the Price
Guide' system.
The current average prices of parts are lower and the result of the downward
spiralling price war of the many shops and are not the actual values.
When getting lower, parts would be given away for free.

There is, only if the buyer requested the item removal.
Usually if the seller requests an item to be removed it's because it's
not in stock and doesn't need to be added into the inventory.

I'm thinking there should be something
like there is for canceling an order.

If saved anyway it would make sense to keep a visible copy in the Outbox, just

  Hi.

Is there any real reason WHY the date is shown when an item is listed within
a stores' inventory?

I've asked the same question when it just got implemented.
http://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=987541

I've kept the option on when I've sold out of an item, it's retained
within my store's inventory, so that when I add more stuff, I know that of
the 2 listings that I have for that particular item (used and new), the USED
listing is always above the new, ensuring that I don't add used stock to
the NEW listing.

I can't understand why this option is there, but it does seem strange, because
when I'd first listed an item within my inventory 4 years ago, and have since
added more of that kind in the years between then and now, but to a Newbie buyer,
it will give the impression that my NEW stock is 4-6 years old, whereas it could
actually be 2 days old!

Can this feature be given the option of being updateable when new stock is actually
added to the retained listing?

Regards,

Paul

  Hello bricklink,

I have a suggestion for the auto-finder function when you want to buy the parts
on a wanted list.

When I use the auto-finder function with best value... often the result has at
least one shop that has a minimum lot average for buying that is higher than
the selected lot. You only find out during checkout! And there is no other option
than buying extra stuf you do not really need.

Always start by reading the Terms and Splash pages.

In my last search action all parts were found in three shops... one shop more
than 100 euro. Lot average 1.0399 but minimum buy lot averge 4.00 so it was not
possible to proceed to checkout.
A new search gives the same result.

My suggestion:
1. Please take into account the minimum lot average in the search results.
2. Do not give one possible combination of shops for the best value but show
two or three options in shop combinations after the best value the second and
third best values.

Best regards,
Roland

Similar to the way amazon checkout works, it would be helpful in situations where
I have to meet a sellers shipping weight/price bands..

For Example.

If I find parts or sets in a shop I want but I know the postage for upto 1000g
is $20, but upto 1500g is $35

my cart is 1.050g, I would now be able to select 50g of items to (save for later)
and when I next shop with the seller, if still available the parts would be ready
for me to (add to cart) again thus saving postage.

At the present time if my cart is too much I have to remove Items I actually
want, complete checkout and then find the parts again later. Finding and adding
parts can be time consuming.

Items in carts aren't reserved until the actual checkout is done.
You could just checkout with a message you would like to add to your order.

  Hi,
I'm wondering why a new set can have the flag "incomplete". Talking about
a new! set means, that it is MISB or new in openend box. Everything else
are new parts that exist in several sets or maybe only in one set.

But a Star Wars set without the rare minifigs or a Maersk train set without the train
can't be a "new set".

Why is that important?
When you take a look at the price guide you often find new sets that are much
cheaper than others. But when you check the offer you see the "incomplete" mark
within the offer.

You should filter out the incomplete sets:
http://www.bricklink.com/priceGuideSettings.asp?viewFrom=P.

From my point of view "new set" means complete in box with instructions and ALL
parts, nothing else.

You contradict yourself to what you've stated above.
You do agree with the definitions of complete/incomplete.
http://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=102

For now, the price guide for "new sets" is useless because
I am able to sell a single 1x1 tile as a new set that is incomplete.

No, you can't because it's a tile and the listing will be reported.
Stores who do that risk of getting terminated.

New sets with the flag "incomplete" should be listed under parts because that
is what they are - a collection of new parts from a set.
What do you think?

this one is very basic: I'd like to have a watch lists, that allows to "save"
certain items from certain sellers, to find them easily again.

Favourite the store and add the item to a wanted list.
In the settings you can change it to have favourites shown on top.

Personally, I find it very difficult to use any website on a browser on my tablet,
and a smaller screened smartphone would be no better. As such, I rarely ever
use bricklink on my tablet, just because it is so difficult. I know there is
the "mobile site", but I'm figuring that's just the same desktop site,
enhanced for mobile devices (am I wrong? Please correct if I am). I Don't
find it's better at all. It still has the upper "tabs" (Shop, community,
my BL, etc, etc) which on desktop requires a hover to use, most of the time.
On my tablet, I'm constantly using the "normal" version and using "use desktop
version", which really isn't any different or any better.

Anyway, consider other major sites (facebook, ebay, amazon, amazon seller, paypal,
gmail, how many others am I not including?) that one can visit on a browser OR
an app. All those aren't just 5% different versions of the same desktop site,
they are designed ground up for tablets/phones. I think bricklink could do very
well to come up with one. I KNOW I'd use it all the time. Heck, I've
even be willing to pay the typical .99 for it.

Has there been talk of an app in the past that I've missed, or is my idea
totally, 100% new?

Is possible to improve the DataBase to send a new notification message when the
parts move from Stockroom into Inventory?
For ex: I finished brick 2 x 2 yellow... but in few days I put it in again my
inventory, I would like to comunicate it to all the users that have the brick
in their wanted list.

Is It possible?
Thanks.
Gianni.

Notifications are send for available l new listed parts or when parts become
available when moved from Stockroom to store.
It doesn't notify when you list new items in a Stockroom.

Since there is no way to actually enforce local pickup, I didn't realize
this until after he mailed the money, frankly because I've never had anyone
do this before! I accept lots of cash payments from members of my LUG, but it
doesn't usually occur outside of that.

Can we get BrickLink to only accept "Cash" payments on an order if that buyer's
postal code is on a seller-selected list? I don't know how postal codes
work in other countries, but in the US (and Canada to, I think) the zip code
gets more specific as you go from left to right. So for example, using wildcard
characters, I could allow cash payments from anyone in Lincoln, NE with a single
entry: 685**.

Thoughts?

Why didn't you catch it at invoicing?

Various websites use them.

If BL where to verify only the USA, EU, Germany, France and the Netherlands (the

I agree that BL cannot check every country, verifying 92% of addresses is much

This is exactly the problem: Buyers are responsible for the correctness of

But BL can and must give the tools to fill it in correctly. (BL cannot check

Do you see the comma between dutch post(zip)code and city??? (also in other
country's like Belgium there is a comma) such commas can cause problems
while the post company's are reading your shipping's with character
recognition.

A Dutch address doesn't contain a comma between the zipcode and city:
https://www.postnl.nl/versturen/brief-of-kaart-versturen/hoe-verstuur-ik-een-brief-of-kaart/brief-adresseren/

So why is BL placing that comma in your address: (see:https://www.bricklink.com/pref_general.asp?rD=Y)

It doesn't. Perhaps you've entered the comma yourself.

I agree. At first glance I did too, untill closer looked.

You already can copy a wantlist.
It's possible as wel as with Classic View and in New Updated View.

Create a New Wantlist
Check the checkboxes of all items.
Select Copy to.. (select wantlist)

so we can keep our original colour scheme plus mess with the colour scheme of
second variation.

Say I have a wanted list for a complete custom airplane.
I'd like to be able to duplicate the wanted list as 'wanted list for
plane - 2', and set up a different colour scheme for all the same parts in
the second new list.
So when I'm making a bulk order for customers, I can easily order lots of
colour scheme A, or colour scheme B of the airplane.
As a simple example.

Add a Shipping tabel to your Terms.

No, feedback will then be used to communicate as it's the first option they
see to contact the seller.

Good morning

Not sure I understand your point. If there is a link to posting feedback, how
can this be used to communicate with the seller. Sellers are not contacted by
Bricklink when someone posts feedback and the feedback screen doesn't allow
that either.

Please explain what you mean as we would like to understand your point. Anything
that can be done to focus buyers on leaving feedback should be done. The best
transactions do not always pick up feedback and that is a shame - it kind of
lowers the meaning of feedback.

With a 'leave feedback'-link on top of the Orderdetailpage it's easier
to leave feedback such as 'please cancel order' or 'is it shipped?'
instead of scrolling down the page to the 'contact seller about this order'-link
and type a short message.

Not Sure I like that idea, when I am building sets, any missing parts, I add

me a reminder of what I am missing, especially, when I am going through bought
collections dumped into boxes,
hopefully I find the parts when looking for other parts, if eventually I give
up looking, or have enough parts to warrant an order, I will do so...........
but to have sellers contacting me saying "I have the parts you require"
is really intrusive, and tbh. SPAM,

Look at the settings for one of your WL, you’ll see a “Share WL” toggle, with
a green, 4-month-old “Feature Coming Soon!” next to it.
So, it’s an option for each WL. You’ll have shared and unshared WL.

Correct, thank you.

Besides, we have no idea whatsoever how it’ll work: Will the WL be shared with
everybody? with a selection of people? How? Etc.

And, besides, the “spamish” contacts already exist. They are called “notifications.”
Even though they work on a part by part basis.

Notifications are voluntary and can be turned off in the wantlist settings.

Ray

I have cancelled an order because it was intended to go along with another order,
the first of which was cancelled by the seller DAYS after paying because he didn't
have inventory. The only other cancellation was caused by the seller incorrectly
listing colours on the key part in the order so I chose to cancel rather than
take the wrong colour.

Also, buyers are permitted to cancel due to shipping expense being too high,
and the more order I get these too high shipping charges tacked on, the more
likely I am to start cancelling.

At some point I will become frustrated enough by sellers selling cheap bricks
then making it up on the back end with inflated shipping and handling charges
to start canceling every single order like that, and don't think I should
be extorted by the threat of a cancellation count.

Your feedback left doesn't reflect experienced inflated shipping and charges.

These green dot represents a call to action, however improperly notifying a user

Example, I package an order on Saturday afternoon, I cannot ship until Monday
morning. The green dot provides a call to action to mark the package as shipped.
I can't, it is Saturday afternoon and there is no mail service. If go ahead

1. The buyer immediately receives a green dot call to action notification to
mark the package as received.
Well, how can they? It is Saturday afternoon and the next mail service will
not run until Monday. So now for until at least Monday, the green dot notification
is completely useless.

2. Next if I mark the order as shipped on a Saturday afternoon, I immediately
get the green dot call to action notification to send the drive thru notification.
When I do this the buyer will get notified that I shipped the package....but
I didn't ship package because it is Saturday afternoon. There is no mail
service until Monday morning. So I send the drive thru notification on a Saturday
afternoon I am not being truthful to the buyer as I have stated that the package
has been shipped. (BTW BL's default drive thru states that the package has
been shipped).

The ability to turn on of off the notifications or provide a time lag of the
notifications would be greatly appreciated and make them useful.

Thank you,
Cob

Which green dots?

Please allow customization of the green dot notifications on My Store and My
BL.

These green dot represents a call to action, however improperly notifying a user
of an action to perform causes them to ignore the green dot notification.

Example, I package an order on Saturday afternoon, I cannot ship until Monday
morning. The green dot provides a call to action to mark the package as shipped.
I can't, it is Saturday afternoon and there is no mail service. If go ahead
and mark the package as shipped, two things then happen.

Please make the site upgrade and enable payment at checkout. I have so many
buyers confused on what to do and how to pay. If they had the option to pay
at checkout it would be so much more streamlined and convenient for everyone.

I am fully prepared and ready to handle payment at checkout, I already give my
buyer the maximum they will be charged for shipping in my terms (and yes, I never
charge more than my terms state, even if I would lose money). Therefore, the
buyer already knows the cost of their order at checkout, why can't they pay
at checkout?

Cob

Autocheckout should have multiple payment methods integrated before going live.
If Paypal becomes the only accepted payment method it's forced upon us.

I'm sure in the future BL will become an escrow service for buyer protection.
Just like on AliExpress...

Please add a colour filter to the my inventory page either below or above condition.
This will allow an easy way to find a specific piece in a specified colour. At
present the only way that we know of to do this is by knowing the element ID
(PCC) and that is not known to most, without looking it up.

It might also be useful when you choose a part no say 3001 to get not only a
lot count but a summary of the total no of items (broken into new and used).
Again the only way this can be done now is to manually add these up. (That is
what we have computers for, especially ones with SQL databases)

I would like to suggest a way of preventing this. Maybe we can have an option
to ENABLE/DISABLE buying an item from other people:

[ ] reserve items in a quote to be reserved for that specific buyer

Maybe this options should be ENABLED for everyone by default (new and existing
stores).

Saso

* or am I missing something?

The quote system encourages to checkout and order instead of only asking a quote.

Generally I am using Wanted List for first time and feature that auto selects
stores where I can buy bricks is just superb . But I thought that in some
cases there is no difference if you could use in your creation for example brick
1x4 or two 1x2 bricks.
But when you select 1x4 brick AND 1x2 brick in wanted list, then hit Auto-Searching
system will return stores that has both of them. In some cases for my MOC there
were 4 stores where I would have to buy bricks, but deselecting for example 1x2
brick and selecting 1x4 - there were 3 shops. Of course as we all know more shops
= more shipping costs.

So my idea is to add some kind of option that for every slot there is an "OR"
option - I select yellow brick 2x6 in blue but it will be fine too if theres
gonna be 2x yellow 2x3 bricks.

Or maybe there already exist that kind of option but I didn't spotted it
yet ?

You can create another wantlist(s) with alternatives and deselect in searches.

It isn't a feature because there are (privacy) laws involved.
There are better ways to meet up local Lego enthusiasts.

Darren

Yes, the buyer can mark the payment as 'Sent: payment is on it's way.'
http://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=121
Payment is 'Sent', not paid, until the seller marks the payment as 'Completed'.

Separate the payment status from the order status, and you will have "Clearing"
as an option for payments.

  Hello,

Can someone explain me why are feedback allowed for cancelled orders?

Example: I have a buyer, who bought hundreds of euro of stuff from me. After
7 days you can start a NPB. After 14 days you can cancel the order if you are
lucky that they do not reply. If they reply, it needs 21 days to cancel the order.

If you cancel the order BEFORE 21 days, they can leave a negative feedback.
If you cancel the order after those 21 days, they cannot leave a negative feedback.

So I usually wait 21 days (or 14 if I am lucky).

Thus, people can block hundreds of euro worth of lego from your store for 21
days. Yes, they will have a penalty, but it's however a big loss for a seller.

I believe that it would be more useful if no feedback for cancelled order was
allowed.

Please if I am not correct help me to be corrected.

If a stoplisted buyer buys with a duplicate account from you again, you would
want to cancel the order and be able to leave feedback to warn others.

If a buyer asks to falsify customs forms you want to be able to cancel and leave
feedback to warn others.

If a seller provides bad service and just cancels the order to avoid a NSS, buyers
should be able to leave feedback to warn others.

And probably they would be retailated with a negative feedback, so they won't
ever leave a negative.

All three above reasons wouldn't be retaliated because that would emphasise
their bad behaviour.

But they can however say that the other part is a liar and you won't ever
be able to see the truth, just the negative lowering your percentage in the shop
frontpage.

Take this.

A seller claimed he shipped me the parts. Parts never arrived. I started a paypal
claim and a NSS. The seller lost the paypal claim, and I completed the NSS. Then
the seller asked BL to remove the negative, as he claimed he had refunded me,
and he put me a negative. I had to spend a lot of time showing bricklink that
he did not refund me, as he refused to refund me, he simply lost the paypal claim
and thus paypal refunded me, not the seller. I still have him calling me a liar
in his reply to my feedback, while obviously he is the liar (he has 25 negative
feedbacks as a seller, so I'm not surprised).

With 25 negatives the pattern of bad behaviour is obvious to the public.

People will lie if they seem that's the only way to protect their interest.

A good reason to keep the ability to leave feedback to by NSS/NRS or NPB cancelled
orders.

Already exists...
If you activate
Receive Contact Messages To: Both E-Mail and My Messages on following page:

Then any message from any member send on bricklink will also be send to your
regular inbox.
From there you can reply to the 'contacts' e-mail and attach pictures...

And from buyers you have the e-mail in your order form, so you can simply copy
it on BL and paste it in your mailerbrowser and send a mail, including pictures...

Easy

Thanks,

There should be a way to do it within BrickLink, without having to give
out your actual email address.

Upload to My Pics and add the shortlink into the message.

I was asked to post this as a suggestion for voting on.

While hovering on My BL you are able to see any of the open coupons you have
available to use.

However, when you are shopping in a store, under the current system, you do not
see that coupon until final checkout at the very bottom.

My suggestion is to move that coupon back to the top when you are in a particular
store or in a more visible place to be seen before checkout.

Thank you.

Yes, and coupons aren't even hidden under somewhere hooverable.

P.S. I was under the impression that the upgrade would move BL steps forward.
It seems for every step forward another 2 were made backward. We lost in-store
settings that were in place for, as long as, I can recall and that's just
one of many missteps. Why?
