Hi!

Almost two weeks ago my store was suspended by Bricklink. They didn’t mention
any reason, I just recieved a message that I should ”contact help desk”. I was
a bit late with the fee payment last month so I suppose that’s the reason. I
am NOT arguing their right to suspend the store temporarily. I am however amazed
by the complete lack of customer support they offer to us sellers (and buyers
I guess).

The seller terms of service clearly states that ”the revocation of selling privileges
for overdue fees will be automatically reinstated once payment in full is received
by us.”
Bricklink recieved my fees in full on the 15th of May and still nothing is happening.
It’s been eleven days and I consider it a clear breach of their own terms of
service.

My store remains closed and I am locked out of my own inventory and several other
functions. I have sent help desk at least five messages over the last couple
of weeks but there is no response at all. Just complete silence. And I can’t
find any phone number to call.

I have a limited possibility to deliver orders that buyers have already paid
since I can’t access my inventory, and I will now have to cancel and refund some
of the orders. I am also losing customers who I know was about to order from
me when the store was closed.

Has anyone else experienced the same situation and how did you resolve it? Is
the help desk supposed to take weeks to answer a simple message and is there
no phone number to call instead? Lego Group, the owners of Bricklink, has a yearly
revenue of almost 10 billion euros. Can they really not afford to have a functioning
help desk?

I clicked on your store and it says it was closed for not paying fees.
Have you paid them yet?

Sure, I paid eleven days ago, and since their terms of service said that the
store will be opened automatically as soon as the payment is recieved I found
it very strange.

Also, to be specifically asked to contact help desk and then recieve no answer
after almost two weeks and several reminders can’t be considered very good support.

I was late due to personal health reasons btw, but will definitely make sure
to be on time in the future…

All resolved it with patience, and waiting for Russell or someone to unlock your
shop while reading the forum.

That's all.

And next time don't forget?

Actually I didn’t ”forget”. I have had some health issues that has been out of
my control and I won’t go into any more detail. I normally pay well in advance.

The point is that a late payment in no way justifies Bricklink not following
their part of the deal, especially without any communication at all. Or the fact
that it is best resolved by complaining in the forum and not by regular customer
support.

Also, I can’t understand why they even lock access to the store inventory, which
leads to some buyers not recieving what they ordered.

See 2 major words in TOS: "AS IS".

You could have close your shop.
Or ask someone to close it.
Or set up the automatic close setting after N days not logged in.
Or cancel/refund the orders.
...

Frankly to avoid NSS which will even more damage your account, simply use your
e-mails.
Write to the buyers, warn them about the delay, and refund them if they ask to.

You don't need BrickLink for this.

Apart this, we all here would like a working Help Desk, as it's not you've
to find solutions - pointing BrickLink Terms will not help you

And really very sorry for your health problems, hoping you're fine.

I did close the shop for a while, and I do have it set to close automatically
when not logging in. All orders before the suspension have been sent with the
help of a friend, and I have no NSS or negative feedback at all. I have written
to buyers explaining the situation and I have offered refunds. None of that is
the issue at hand here.

Terms are there for a reason, they go both ways and it is not strange to point
out when it doesn’t work.

Set your store to close after x number of days. This prevents you losing your
shop if something happens to you. There's been a handful of stores with lots
of sales loose privileges after someone was hospitalized and orders kept coming
in that eventually went into NSS completion.

Other than that, sorry this happened to you but complaining about how they didn't
keep up their end when you didn't either is strange to me. Personally.

Not to mention that Sellers here need to give it a rest considering there are
NO LATE Fee's attached for not Paying on time. So your store is closed...
They could have slapped you with a extra 15 to 20 dollar Service fee for late
payment like everyone else does now.

Agreed. I sell on multiple platforms and the fees here are so low and the general
personality of customers is so laid back, this is the only site I used that doesn't
regularly give me scammers or massive fees. Heck Mercari now charges to take
your funds off platform and they cap it at $600 a month unless you want to wait
5+ days.

Good luck getting customer support on ebay, and if you do, they'll tell you
one thing and then do another. Giving yet another scammer your item for free.

must be an American thing. here in Canada, I've had practically 0 issues
on eBay. great customer service the few times I've had issues (aside from
when the tax was broken and I could sell for about a year). I've had more
"scammers" on bricklink than I have had on eBay despite an overall similar
amount of orders on both sites. (and by "more scammers" i mean 1 or 2
total as even on bricklink they are extremely rare)

Er, if you say liter, it’s fluid ounces, so, with 34 floz, you got 0.0055l more
than a liter.

Now, for weight, 34 oz is 0.96388379 kg… but Mapple Syrup isn’t water, its density
seems to be around 1.32.  So you got 0.730215 liter and you got scammed for sure!

What's honestly crazy to me is what they chose to steal. This month it was
a VHS and a Pyrex lid. I also had a guy attempt to scam me on a baseball bat
(expected, it was expensive) but the other two items were like "why are you
bothering??"

There is a theft "culture" in the US in some circles. Like a hobby to
them.

The only sort of scammy thing to happen to me was a dude who broke a figure then
filed a paypay claim (one of my negs) that he didn't even bother to respond
to.

on eBay. great customer service the few times I've had issues (aside from
when the tax was broken and I could sell for about a year). I've had more
"scammers" on bricklink than I have had on eBay despite an overall similar
amount of orders on both sites. (and by "more scammers" i mean 1 or 2
total as even on bricklink they are extremely rare)

What's honestly crazy to me is what they chose to steal. This month it was
a VHS and a Pyrex lid. I also had a guy attempt to scam me on a baseball bat
(expected, it was expensive) but the other two items were like "why are you
bothering??"

Crazy!

There is a theft "culture" in the US in some circles. Like a hobby to
them.

The only sort of scammy thing to happen to me was a dude who broke a figure then
filed a paypay claim (one of my negs) that he didn't even bother to respond
to.

Reminds me of when I sold a battery box and the customer told me it was broken
so after some messages I fully refunded them then they messaged me saying that
they forgot to put all the batteries in… I messaged them back but they never
paid me back… (coincidentally an American buyer which leads to your suggestion)

I would be totally fine with a fee for late payment. No problem. And I don’t
have an issue with my store getting closed, as I said in my first post. I do
however have a big issue with BL having very clear seller terms that they don’t
follow, by not opening a store again once the fee is payed, and not communicating
at all about it. The store could have been opened last week, or yesterday, or
perhaps tomorrow or perhaps in a month. Impossible to know and impossible to
plan.
Oh well, I will just keep waiting and see what happens.

Not to mention that Sellers here need to give it a rest considering there are
NO LATE Fee's attached for not Paying on time. So your store is closed...
They could have slapped you with a extra 15 to 20 dollar Service fee for late
payment like everyone else does now.

Plenty of grease in the forum for squeaky wheels

Whatever, it's good to see the member made whole again
