Hi,

I have just been looking for an advertising light. I entered "Light & Sound"
as the search term. My search term was shortened to "light" and I was
shown gear 395 articles. Then I found this light.

Gear No: lamp6780 Name: Display Lamp, Light & Sound, promoting Set 6780
*
lamp6780 Display Lamp, Light & Sound, promoting Set 6780
Gear: Retail Display: Space: Classic Space
The article description then said "Light & Sound".
Why was my search term shortened?

Regards
Werner

The symbol & is not being parsed in the search engine so it stops reading the
string there.

Interestingly enough it does work in the keyword search just not in the main
banner search.

Are you sure it isn't "sound,". If it doesn't have a space the
search doesn't find it I always use an asterisk.

No. It actually removes the & symbol and everything after it in the main banner
search bar. The search it shows after is only "Light " but if you then
type in the keyword search the Light & sound string it brings up the correct
results.

I'd recommend using "light sound" as a workaround search term

If the article says "Light & Sound", don't search for "light
sound"!
