I think the first lego item I was given was 6007
 
Set No: 6007 Name: Bat Lord

but the real building set was 6918
 
Set No: 6198 Name: Stingray Stormer
* 		6198-1 (Inv) Stingray Stormer
384 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 1998
Sets: Aquazone: Stingrays

My grandma gave it to me for Christmas, no idea how she decided on that specific
set, but I'm sure glad she did!

Made it through my set selloff and dark ages. Pulled it out and built it again
a couple years ago, still in great shape.
