Can I still get an order canceled after it has been invoiced?

I wanted to order a set which was listed as having a badly damaged box and the
contents are now just in polybags. So I just assumed that the shipping would
be under $20 or so. But when I got the invoice, shipping is a whopping $40+++.

I just ordered a different set which had an intact box from a seller further
away and the shipping was about $17. And ordered another one prior to that, and
likewise.

$40 is just quite much.

I already messaged the seller to cancel the order mutually, but if he does not
agree, do I not have any other option but to pay up this order?

Thanks!

What do the seller's terms say about shipping? Are the costs described there
accurately?

If you still want the set I would message the seller and ask him or her whether
it would be possible to ship the set without the damaged box at a reduced cost.

I agree that $40 is very high ... it's not international is it?

I've only had to ask one time about the shipping. Most of the time it's
not too bad. But the one time I did, the seller actually said he could pack
it differently and that cut the cost by almost half.

Worth a try to question.

CASE CLOSED.

No, the seller did not have any shipping spelled out on his info page.

In this case though, the box was supposedly still viable though tattered so he
priced out the original shipping cost with the box. I told him I just needed
the new parts for a MOC.

He got back to me real quick then edited his original invoice and shipping went
down by almost 50%.

I already paid for this order just about a few minutes ago. Case closed. Thanks
for your replies, nonetheless.
