At the beginning of December, I made a small order of minifigures from a certain
store and have had problems communicating with them since they pretty much have
not responded or acknowledged my existence throughout the entire process.
I’m new to Bricklink so I don’t know if stores automatically generate invoices
and allow me to pay for stuff and update the inventory without the seller having
any idea, but it honestly feels like that. Please let me know if that’s true.
Part of me fears something could have happened to the seller since reading up
on their terms and history of interactions, this is out of the ordinary.

Anyways, on the 19th I issued an NSS after getting no signs of life since my
order on Dec 5th. It’s been a week and still no response from the seller whatsoever,
and I have arranged with my bank to receive a refund, but Bricklink only allows
me to formally cancel the order on the 2nd of January (2 weeks after the NSS
is issued). I wouldn’t have trouble waiting, and a small part of me still hoped
the store would pull through and send me what I bought. However I was just browsing
for potential replacements to the figures I had bought and found a much better
deal in a different store and they actually replied to my inquires in a timely
manner so I know they’re active. Not only that but their store also has a few
more items I would be interested in.

My question is, would it be prudent to buy with this store while waiting out
the NSS deadline with the original store? I honestly doubt they’ll (store A)
respond by next week, I got my refund, and I’m tired of waiting. Come January
I will no longer have a lot of time to see to my collection because work starts
back up and I really wanted to have these before my work break is done. Has anyone
had a similar situation happen to them before? Would I be in serious trouble
if the original store actually comes out of the woodwork?

That sucks that your first purchase on Bricklink turned out so poorly. Maybe
the seller is in the hospital, or maybe he went on a Christmas vacation for December
and forgot to close his store. Whatever the reason, you were totally justified
to start an NSS after 2 weeks of nothing from the seller.

At this point it is possible but unlikely that the seller is ever going to fulfill
your order, so I think that buying the MFs from a different store is your best
option.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Their store seemed to be run by a small family
so I truly hope they’re alright. But thanks anyways, I think that’s the confirmation
I needed to hear.

You were refunded, I very much doubt the original seller would ship what is now
an unpaid order.

To actually cancel the order you've to complete the NSS process.
It will also protect you from a negative feedback.
Hopefully the seller will cancel the order sooner.
