| Hi everyone,
Here is an idea as I received all of my neutral feedbacks because the buyer never
contacted me prior to leaving feedback for a small mistake I made in an order
and never gave me the chance to make it right.
Not sure how that would be done, but here is my idea : before a buyer can leave
a neutral or negative feedback, there must be a mandatory step of contacting
the buyer to discuss the issue first. I'm sure lots of sellers are in the
same position as me and lots of buyers think the feedback system is just as an
amazon or facebook system. You buy, you're happy / not happy and you leave
feedback. Especially for the new buyers.
What do you think ?
Thanks for reading.

| Sorry I did a few typos in my message.
So the buyer would have an obligation to contact the seller (and not the buyer)!

What if the buyer knows the seller cannot put their error right, such as for
a deadline.
Similarly forcing a buyer to contact a scam seller to discuss it before than
can leave negative feedback is mot really acceptable.

So? Others have.
I recently had to leave negative feedback for a scammer. If I would have had
to contact him beforehand, then it would have slowed down leaving feedback for
him meaning others could be scammed for however much longer the seller has blocked
off to reply. Also, if a seller knows a buyer is likely to leave negative feedback
then they would probably get in first with their negative feedback, to make it
look like the buyer is leaving negative feedback because they received negative
feedback.
then he could have left me negative feedback in advance,

"I'm planning on leaving you negative feedback. What are you going to
offer me to avoid that?"
That's basically the message you're proposing, and it sounds an awful
lot like feedback extortion.

Then at what point can the buyer leave neutral or negative feedback?
Scenario 1: Buyer can leave feedback after sending the seller a message.
Buyer wasn't all that happy with the order, so he (or she) hits a few random
keys, decides that's enough for the "message" and hits Send. Now
he can leave whatever feedback he wants, and the seller still doesn't have
a chance to correct his mistake.
Scenario 2: Buyer can leave feedback after sending seller a message AND receiving
a response from the seller.
Seller receives a message from an unhappy buyer and simply (and malisciously)
doesn't respond. Buyer is unable to leave feedback.
I can't think of any other scenarios, and both the situations I just described
are clearly not working.
If these neutrals you receive bother you so much, then perhaps you need to rethink
how you pick your orders and try to find a way to avoid these mistakes you mentioned.

A result of this would be that many people will not bother leaving feedback.
You made a mistake. The buyer gave you a neutral, instead of a negative. Could
have been worse.

It might be better to allow buyers to leave feedback without restriction but
instead Bricklink could implement a prompt message along the lines of:-
"You are about to leave Negative/Neutral feedback however have you tried
communicating with the seller as many sellers will try to resolve issues if given
fair opportunity to do so?"
or wording to that effect

That's actually a much better idea than mine ! I love it.
I was just trying to post an idea but it seems people did not like it. My solution
was certainly not the best. That's why forums are there, to discuss and debate.
I was just trying to figure out something to make the feedback system more efficient.
But if you propose your idea, I'd definitely vote yes

Sorry no, because the current system is good especially for sellers non responding
or not selling your order...
So even if you communicate, you'll probably get no reply from a scammer or
a hacked shop.

If a buyer is going to leave a negative or neutral, Bricklink should add a message
saying we recommend contacting the seller first, do you still want to leave feedback?
with a checkbox.
eBay puts a disclaimer up before the buyer can leave a negative, and sets a time
frame. (You can't leave immediate bad feedback)
See picture.
Regarding your neutrals, they seem to be small mistakes that the buyer didn't
even consider worth an email. And most of these buyers seem to have low feedback,
so they wouldn't understand the culture on Bricklink.
I think regarding your own feedback, you worry too much.
