| Doing a wanted list by hand because the XML file isn't working (as usual).
Why in the blue hell do we have to pick a part type when it is driven by the
item number?
Wasted step, waste of time.

Different posts about that after the ‘Nov 3-8 blackout’ but ‘it works for me’™.

Parts vs gear. Right now, it's chose a part, then the type i.e. brick
or tile. Then the item number. And in case of duplicates, it gives you all just
like the a,b,c versions of the same part. And the general search gives you all
the combos to choose from, why isn't the wanted list?

I hadn’t realized. Are you using the ‘Add Item’ form in a Wanted List? (Or
something else I don’t know about?)
Because it’s really not the best tool and why you’re frustrated with it. It’s
indeed very backward, going down the catalogue’s structure: type » category »
item.
A simple search and then using the ‘Add to My WL’ link on the part’s page is
way simpler.
Though you need to fill some fields each time you click the link, you can open
multiple part pages and ‘batch’ the addings.
Or you use the ❤️ (hearts) in inventories (the tab in the set’s page, not the
standalone page) if you want parts from a set.

Use BrickStore or jump in the lake.
I mean - don't jump!
But use BrickStore.
