| I ordered from a seller today.
They have set up automatic payments which includes shipping costs.
However they now say I have to pay extra postage because the order is over £20.
Presumably because they want it to be sent Signed For.
With shipping rules can you set it so it applies these charges automatically?
Because once I have paid I do not expect to have to pay more. To my mind this
is a way to really annoy your buyers.
Are they allowed to do this under BL rules?

Yes, you can.

They are "allowed" but it's no way to run a business imho.

No it is not allowed, it is false advertising. Tell them you are not willing
to pay more than already agreed at the yptime of placing the order and to either
send the order or cancel and refund in full.

| +1, it is the seller’s error and a good seller should send the order at a loss
and learn from the experience - by modifying the shipping parameters or instant
checkout, etc. for future customers.
You bought and paid for the item(s) with the expectation of the initial shipping
charge. Withholding the order until you pay extra isn’t fair at all.

Aaahhh but they get you there as well. If you cancel they refund less PayPal
fees.
