I am wondering if anyone has an XML with a good collection of basic parts. I
am looking to up my building inventory and it is tedious to go through all the
parts on the site to select them.

What does “basic” mean?

You can download the catalogue here: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogDownload.asp
Then you can open it in a spreadsheet (no images) and filter out the parts you
deem “not basic.”
There’s no images though.

Or maybe just use BrickStore?
