| This might seem like a dumb question but we have an issue with an order.
The buyer purchased empty boxes and wanted to receive an invoice without any
shipping because he would send his own shipping label.
It took a while for them to pay but after we initiated an NPB they said that
they hadn't seen the previous messages reminding them that they needed to
pay their order.
We packed the order, sent the dimensions in a bricklink message as we as through
email.
The package has been sitting here since the 5th of October, no response.
Since there is no 'Non-responding buyer' alert, is there something else
we can do to get in touch with the buyer? I don't think so, but maybe someone
here has an idea that I didn't come across so far.
I guess the next option would be to send the buyer a message saying that if they
don't send the shipping label we will have to refund them and cancel the
order, or to refund them and declare an NPB, which seems counter-productive and
somehow unethical, so we're at a loss.

I don't think you can refund a buyer then claim they didn't pay, as they
can counter it with they did pay but you refused payment.
It is probably simplest to refund and cancel. Maybe remind them one more time.

Yeah, I hear that. And even if possible it would feel weird doing it. THing is,
if it is even possible the goal wouldn't be to complete the NPB, just to
get their attention.
I really wish there was a 'NRB' alert for non-responding buyers in such
situations.

I'm sending them another round of messages and emails to try to get some
reaction.
It's not the amount or anything like that, it's not a big sale and
it won't change much for us if we refund it, it's just annoying since
they would just need to take the time to make the label and send them and we
would be able to complete the transaction. I understand why they want to use
their own label, shipping 4 empty boxes internationally is expensive even when
shipped flat!

I assume you have sent them few messages via bricklink and to their email address.
It wouldn't hurt to wait more, even few weeks. The worst case scenario is
that you refund and cancel the order. But maybe they got caught with something
more important in life. Or maybe they answer today because they can get a free
shipping label with CanadaPost today?

I don't know if USPS does something like that but yeah, I've sent a few
messages and emails. Guess I'lljust wait some more.

USPS or UPS?
So this is an order from USA. If you meant USPS, how can you ship with USPS from
Canada to USA?

I said USPS just to keep with the Canada Post free shipping thing but the buyer
actually said he would use DHL, which we know works for this as we use them for
pick ups in both the USA and Europe.
I'm not sure if USPS allows someone to pick a package up in Canada, but I
don't think they do.
That was a bad attempt at humour from ne, guess it didn't land.

CanadaPost is better than USPS. This is a fact known by people in ne or nw, no
humour is needed

| I've had more than a few oddballs like that, including one who between ordering
and paying via etransfer for local pickup dropped of the face of the earth. over
2 months later he resurfaced saying he'd move halfway across the country
and forgot. Took him another month to remember to pay me for the shipping.
My suggestion is to just sit on it. If the buyer has paid for the order, your
return in in. Just let is sit and see if they bother to realize they haven't
received anything.
