Hello everyone I have Been a bricklink seller for a month now and would like
the help of figuring shipping labels.

For the past month I been buying the shipping labels at the post office in my
area.
But I have been seeing most bricklink sellers using there own printer to make
there shipping labels.
So I need to know if it’s cheaper to print your own the shipping labels and if
yes what is the best website to print your own shipping labels?
So what are your recommendations?

for a printer if your looking for cheap then just about anything from amazon
will "work" it wont be the best and might break faster then others but
will get the job done. as for sites i hear in the USA most people recommend pirate

I use Pirate Ship to calculate my shipping and print my labels. It will get you
almost 25% savings on shipping. It's free to get an account and easy to use.

Yes, much less expensive, you will get commercial pricing as opposed to paying
retail prices at the post office.

I use pirateship.com and they rock. Excellent customer service, good reports,
and an intuitive interface. Plus, with them you can ship USPS or UPS!

I would not recommend getting a cheap printer, you don't want it to break
when the season picks up. I chose a Brother Ql-1100 thermal printer, no ink!
They are not inexpensive, but built to last with relative little maintenance.
Plus you can all kinds of different labels for it.

Good luck,
John

Pirate Ship is good. I concur with what everyone else said about it.. Another
option you may want to consider is ShipStation. It is free to use with your
PayPal orders and ties right in with address pre-filled in. However, for Stripe
or other payment orders you would still need to use Pirate Ship for a free service..

I don’t use a special printer for the labels. Just a basic inkjet with plain
paper. You have to cut out the label and tape it on the package. A bit of extra
work, but if you are not a high volume seller not too bad and saves money on
special printer and labels.

1.) Use Pirateship. It integrates with Paypal.

a.) Printing labels on your own is significantly cheaper than paying retail
rates.

2.) Brick Freedom works well for picking orders, automating feedback, and posting
tracking info.

3.) Buy a Zebra LP2844 thermal printer. If you search eBay by new listings, they
can be had shipped for under $50. They are old but are built like tanks. I buy
as/is models and have never had an issue getting them to work. (I stopped buying
after 4 of them because I had too many)

The Chinese thermal printers you can buy off of Amazon are sold by fly by
night sellers. Good luck getting support (drivers) a couple years after you buy
or replacing the printhead.

I didn't realize that Pirate Ship would integrate with PayPal. Thanks for
the information; I will give it a try. I like Pirate Ship better than ShipStation
but I have been using ShipStation because I had learned that it integrated with
PayPal for free. I had continued using the free Pirate Ship service for Stripe
orders. It would be nice to consolidate all orders with one good service that
works well.

I will also look into the Zebra printers; however I will likely need to have
a larger order volume to justify the expense of the hardware and labels.

Thermal printer is the way to go...

I bought a Dymo printer from a 2nd hand store 10+ years ago for $15 and since
it is not one of the 'wide' models I used the 99019 label 2-5/16"
x 7-1/2" (150 roll/$8 recently).

When PayPal switched to ShipStation the option for that style went away. With
just the typical 4x8 label. I have used this template and printed 'to fit'
which results in about 33% original size and fits 2 up on the 99019 label.

While it is smaller than usual - I have not had any of the 300+ parcels returned
or any delivered slower than expected. At 20-30 cents a label cheaper than standing
in line - which I used to do, at one point almost every day. You're spending
too much time a the PO when the clerks know you by name!
