Hi,
First¹, I’m not talking for BL or LEGO, I’m not an accountant, I’m not a lawyer,
I may be a cat.
Then, AFAIK, to enter your VAT ID, you need to activate the VAT or the Distance
selling mechanisms on BrickLink. If you activate one of these mechanisms, that
means you’re collecting VAT domestically or in EU or both.
(The BL VAT mechanism principally:
— informs buyers that you’re collecting VAT,
— allows to export out of EU with an automatic 0% VAT,
— allows to self-handle import VAT.
The BL Distance selling mechanism allows to sell more than €10,000 in EU.)
So, no, you can’t enter a VAT number without activating VAT on BL and without
collecting VAT.
Also, small companies aren’t “exempt of VAT,” they are “VAT does not apply.”
“VAT exempt” would mean you don’t pay VAT.
As a small company, you do pay VAT, but you don’t have the right to collect it
and you don’t have the right to deduct the VAT you paid.
And please, do not post the same question everywhere you can think of.
A little patience and wait for someone to answer your questions. This is a community
forum¹.
