I would like to be able to put up certain sets into our store with free shipping
and have customers be able to use instant checkout and have the shipping charge
be zero when they check out but just for those particular sets if possible. How
would I set up a shipping method to accomplish this? Is this possible? I would
prefer to have a shipping method that would only apply to certain sets but if
I would have to have it apply to all sets then I could still work with that.

I would not want the shipping method apply to any parts or minifigures.

Thanks in advance.

The way I do it is I create a new shipping method that requires a minimum purchase
amount, that way most items/orders won't qualify but it'll show for a
set that's $250 or whatever amount you want it to

I'm sure there's an easier way, but I prefer to stick to what I know
in order to avoid messing up my shipping methods

Thanks for the reply!

That would be one way but I would really like to be able to have sets worth less
to be able to have free shipping. Plus, any order over a certain amount would
qualify for free shipping so that would not work for me.

Any other ideas? Anybody?

The way I did, back when I used to offer free shipping, worked like this …

Each lot (for a set) that I wanted to ship for free, I overrode both the dimensions
and the weight, to make them both as small as possible. I think something like
0.001 gms and 0.1 mm on each side. Then I set up a shipping method that only
processed something below 1-oz (or smaller if possible) and a physical dimension
of 1-inch x 1-inch x 1-inch. That tended to route the set orders into that very
small cubic space, and the parts elsewhere. Try setting this up on a test lot,
that is reserved to your test account, then see what happens when you put it
into a shopping cart. Let unchanged, your other lots will not trigger the shipping
method, if it’s set up correctly.

Good luck, Nita Rae

Thank you, that sounds like it should work. In fact, that should work for selling
sets with a fixed shipping value also. Again, thanks.
