| Just got an order from someone with a Florida address, and through our communications,
they said they are having it sent to Florida and then sent out of country. On
top of it, they are VERY insistent that I ship WITHOUT a printed invoice…. This
has me a little unsettled. They are a high rated buyer. What should I expect?

The “no invoice” part is puzzling though. Is that because they want to reduce
the weight or because they don’t want proof of real value?

| the way it works is if an invoice is included in the package then (probably by
law but I'm not sure) the site will make that price the declared value and
it can't be changed but if no invoice is included you can adjust the declared
value as desired

That makes sense. The thing I’m worried about is this: when working with USPS,
of a package gets lost, they sometimes check the contents to see if there is
an invoice inside. That can be very helpful to them in finding where the package
belongs. My worry is losing the package…
I Doubt this person has nefarious intentions, but I just wanted to see what you
all thought.

If you are so worried about this, just include a small piece of paper with the
Florida address inside the package.
I would guess that 90 percent of BL orders are shipped with no invoice, or even
the address inside the package. If your shipping label is securely attached,
no duplicate is needed.

Which is what I meant by “‘real’ value.”

No, it’s definitely not. It was an order of CMF minifigures, and I offered to
take out the original packaging as well, but they declined.

I'd encourage this; it's an obsolete total waste of paper, ink, chemicals,
power, AND plane gas (one of the worst), all this for sheets of paper which are
the more often immediately thrown to the garbage (not properly sorted in recycling
bins/bags - but also for privacy reasons)
What a waste!

| yah for the most part paper invoices are outdated. only when I make a purchase
I make sure to print off a copy for tax reasons but if it's included in the
package it ends up in the recycle after floating around the basement for a while

It's Florida; you should expect the worst.
Maybe it is a drop shipper? Usually they don't want printed invoices as it
gives away the true origins of the package.
