| There needs to be a better way to deal with item removal requests. I have been
waiting for an invoice to be sent and had to ask my seller when I could expect
an invoice. They then informed me that I needed to approve the item removal first.
If I had not sent the inquiry, I would not have even known and possibly had a
NPB filed against me. This is unacceptable!
1) All item removal requests need to come through Bricklink and the buyer's
e-mail.
2) An alert should be shown on the buyer's Bricklink account with a red exclamation
mark or something similar next to the "My BL" just like there is a
green dot when logged in.
3) A link to the "Item removal" page should be under the "purchases"
heading when I hover my mouse cursor over the "My BL" icon.

Did you not get a message when the seller filed the request?
And an NPB couldn't be sent anyway, since you have not been invoiced.

|
I did not get a message through the Bricklink messaging system. I did go into
my e-mail after the seller told me about the item removal request. I then had
to search through 354 e-mails to find the 1 from my seller. eBay sends entirely
to many e-mails!

That is good to know!

Your email client should have the option to filter by email address or search
for email messages with specific keywords. If it doesn't have that option,
you might want a better email client with search functions. Most email clients
have had search options for many years now.

I have used AOL for my business for almost 20 years now. I am not going to change
my e-mail address now. It is established and it would be a pain to switch all
the sites I use it for, like this one.
Switching my e-mail provider is not going to "fix" the item removal process
or make it better either.

Ghyde talked about your “e-mail client,” not your e-mail provider.
An e-mail client is the application (or website) you use to read your e-mails:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_client
| It is established and it would be a pain to switch all
the sites I use it for, like this one.
|
Actually, it isn’t difficult to have multiple e-mail providers. You can separate
the accounts or simply redirect one address to another.
| Switching my e-mail provider is not going to "fix" the item removal process
or make it better either.
|
Well, another provider or even a redirection could help bypass bans the providers
put on some servers (for instance on BrickLink’s servers).
But again, ghyde was only talking about the application/website you use to read
and organize your e-mails, not your e-mail provider.
Well, except if AOL forces you to use their own badly designed app/website and
doesn’t adhere to common protocols like IMAP or POP….

I just log into AOL and read my e-mail. I am very technologically disabled
so I have no idea what any of that means. I can say that I do get all of my e-mails
from Bricklink unlike a lot of sellers that had that particular issue recently.
I just wish I would get a notification on Bricklink for an item removal request.

Okay, so, what ghyde was talking about is this:
https://help.aol.com/articles/use-filters-to-sort-and-organize-messages-in-aol-mail
and this:
https://help.aol.com/articles/search-for-emails-in-aol-mail
And it was in reaction to your saying “I then had to search through 354 e-mails
to find the 1 from my seller. eBay sends entirely to many e-mails!”
So, the idea is that, until you get more visible notifications or eBay decides
to send fewer e-mails, either you filter out your eBay e-mails to an eBay folder
to have fewer e-mails to look through, or you use the search tool to find BrickLink
/ your seller’s e-mails, or both

Okay so when I click the link, I see the different settings. My Order item removal
requests is grayed out.
This does not provide a link to the page that the item removal request is on.
I have no idea how to find this on Bricklink other than going through my e-mail
and clicking on the link there.
I have been using Bricklink for almost 20 years now and I still have no idea
how to approve an item removal request without using my e-mail. This tells me
that there is no easy way to get to it on Bricklink and so it needs a fix!
