Why would a parcel at 4.81g not including package weight cost EUR 27.00 from
Germany to USA?

I think some sellers only offer certain shipping options that are faster and
start at high prices

I think it's the more often a standard/"flat" price - you could buy
1.5Kg for the same price, the problem is when buying 5g

After rereading the terms, the shop does not offer anything other than Hermes
or DHL. I had to read them a few times before realizing those are the only shipping
options available outside of the UK.

If I were to send it from Belgium to the US, it would cost 40 euros. Germany
has excellent international shipping prices with Deutsche Post DHL...but, let's
reverse the question...how much would it cost to ship a 5 kg parcel from the
US to Germany...I am sure it would be more expensive...

Off memory I think it’s like $17.00 for a minifig to c CD entrap Europe and $23.00
to Australia. I got so many complaints about it I just stopped shipping international.

Honestly, I do not know what a 5kg parcel would cost to send to Germany. I only
ship to the USA and Canada because of the rate increase for overseas shipping.
4.81 grams is much lighter and smaller than 5kg though. I was hoping for a less
expensive option with tracking, and I would have insured the packet simply because
of this piece.

Do I understand correctly that I could add up to 1.5kg for the same cost of shipping
or am I misunderstanding this?

It cost me about $15+ to ship even one brick outside the USA

I lost basically all my foreign sales when the rates went up.

I just find shipping price crazy these few years, I am from Hong Kong, China,
remember I bought sw minifigs from facebook sellers which cost around £1.5 international
few years back, but when buy from bl recently, the minimum shipping for less
then 20 grams is at least 10 euro and 15 usd, sometimes shipping cost more than
50% of the bricks, that's insane.
