I am building a display case for my Collectible minifigures, and I was wondering
if I should add lights to the case and if so, what lights would be best to use?

Show me your displays.

Not sure if it would help but I’m just saying to get the idea out there but I’m
probably wrong but aren’t their light or something or filters you can get
for some light to block UV or something so it dosnt dmamage your lego over time?
I’m probably explaining it wrong or something but I’ve seen someone (8-bit-guy
I think) on YouTube do something like that to prevent his pcs from yellowing
(at least so they don’t as fast)

That is a good point. Do lights put out UV rays?

Not sure but it’s just something that I vaguely remember but I don’t know much
on it but a quick google search says similar things to this and I’m pretty
sure UV damages plastic over time for some thing presumably including lego

Yes, UV accelerates most plastics’ degradation.

So, no direct exposition to sunlight (standard glasses don’t stop all UVs).

Also, if you plan to use LED lights, bring a couple LEGO parts (particularly
Trans-Neon colours or even Orange) to the store to check if the light emits “black
light” (low UV-A), not much because of the degradation but because it changes
the colour of the parts (interesting for trans-Neon, not great for Orange).
(I bought a cheap LED light (with colour variator)… and it’s not usable because
my Arctic sets are all weird under it.  *sigh*)

Thank you, this is very helpful.

Show me your displays.

Go for low power and if possible cariable intensity LED strips. The amount of
UV emitted is negligible. If you are lighting from just a couple of cm above
you want them to be heavily dimmed otherwise you'll just cause strong shadows.

That is good advise! Thank you!
