Hi all,

I have a issue with uploading new parts to my inventory. I use brickstore all
the time to part out without troubles yet.

Seems like recently there's a chance related to special characters in the
upload file.
When e.g. trying to represent a "less than" symbol
(difficult to put this into a forum post )
you have to replace in the XML with &_l_t_;
(also difficult in a forum post, mentally ignore the underscores, please )

Previously consolidation worked fine, as long all other fields meet the requirements
as specified in https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=128&q=consolidate

Unfortunately, now the lots are not recognized as consolidated, even though after
import the description of the two lots are exactly the same.

I tested a bit to exclude any other difference and could narrow it down, that
it only fails exactly in these cases.
Does somebody have an idea how to work around?
And if it is a new bug, does it need to be somewhere filed?

Thx for all support.
Stefan

I think, I identified the issue.

When uploading story inventory using the XML upload function, quotation marks
=" are imported into BL like &_#_3_4_; (again: ignore the "_" ).
At least this is the value during export.

For items, that had been created already longer in the past, the quotation marks
are still exported as quotation marks. This is why I assume, the implementation
of the BL import functionality has been changed.

But even worse:
For me this partly leads to the fact, that this conversion makes the description
longer.
And there are cases, where after the conversion the size exceeds 255 char. And
this in turn means, that even after downloading the inventory, I can't upload
the file anymore, because then the description is longer than 255 char.

This means: you have no way to import inventory, that will be consolidated with
the existing lots in such cases.

@bricklink: please reverse this! :/

And on top of this: if you ever change something through the inventory page on
the website, it switches back from the encoded version &_#_3_4_; (without the
_ ) to the plain "

This means: you can't know, what the export will contain.
