These ‘things’ are only helpfull if you have them in hands. It helps just a little
bit on picture.
If the camera/picture is slightly of in the warmth of colors, if there is a reflection
like on your black part it will not get well enough on a screen.
Also screens can be slightly different in showing colors, enlargements make differences
etc.

That is why he is advertising his IDEAS project here - to get LEGO to produce
one. Although I'm not really sure of the point of trying to get one produced
through IDEAS since many of the colours are not in production, so if produced
now the chart would not be complete unless LEGO made new versions of old colours.
We'd then get for example a "new light grey" which is not LBG but
meant to represent the old "light grey" even though it would necessarily
be different to it.

Agreed. As nice as this idea is, 70+ of these are retired and most of them have
been retired for 20+ years. There are also a few notable errors that would have
to be fixed before making this idea a reality. I suppose said errors illustrate
the importance of having a physical reference!
