| Hi,
Just wanted some help on this. I've had a purchase from an account that was
made today and an partially concerned this may be scam like behaviour.
If anyone can share their experience with this before that would be much appreciated!

What about the purchase makes you think it might be a scam?

Really just it being an account made today. It's not a huge order but being
a tiny store just concerned me. 🙂

Most of my customers were new buyers. Only had a non-responsive buyer once in
82 orders.

Every buyer on here made their first purchase with a new account. How else do
you start to buy something here. I know the feeling of sending a package to a
new account, but there is no way around it other than not selling to new buyers.
But I have sent high value orders to new accounts, and so far have not been scammed.

Hi mate,
This is quite a common occurrence as people might be looking to buy some Lego
parts, find the site and then order. Simple e-commerce transaction.
I have had 7560 orders now and have had a total of 4 NPB's. Instant checkout
certainly helps that, but i think i would have had maybe a few hundred orders
from 0 feedback buyers, many ordering on their first day on the site. Only 4
have ended in NPB's, so most are positive transactions.
If you owned a restaurant, and someone new to town walked in on their first night
and asked for something to eat, would you be concerned about serving them dinner?
We all have to start somewhere.
So maybe view it as you are the first person to give them a positive opinion
of Bricklink. Then, next time they are looking to buy, they may come to you
first as they had such a great buying experience the first time.

I think you can. The first time you eat at a restaurant, the staff don't
know if you are going to be a polite, normal customer like most people or if
you are going to make a big fuss and throw food everywhere. Similarly, on BrickLink
it is hard to tell how a new buyer will behave since they have no feedback.

It is just as bad as having diners that have been to thousands of restaurants
in the past, that tend to kick up a fuss in 2% of them. But you do not know that
until they have entered, sat down and ordered, and pre-paid for their food.

| About 25% of my sales are to buyers with less than 5 feedback and 5% are buyers
with 0 feedback. I’ve never had a problem with any of them that I can recall.

Any new buyer that finds this site, manages to find the part they are looking
for, order it, check out, and pay on their first day should be congratulated!
Unless they have asked you to complete the transaction off BrickLink or pay
in an unusual way, you likely have nothing to worry about it.
I think it's fun to give a new member their first feedback and welcome them
to BrickLink.
