| Heya guys
Trying to put in a cancellation request as a buyer and I have agreed to cancel
because when I go to the problem order page, there's never an option to select
to cancel. Am I doing something wrong?

Is it paid for already or did the buyer perhaps set it to paid? It needs to
be refunded first if it has been paid, or ensure that the payment status flag
is set to Not Yet Paid. As well, I think it'll only allow cancellations if
in certain statuses, so ensure it's set to something like Ready or Pending.

You didn't finish reading the sentence and got the context wrong The next
words were "and I agreed to cancel".

Sorry for you confusion! If they are the seller, as what the wrote suggests (and
they have a store), I'm asking if the order is set to Paid. If the order
is paid and not yet refunded, they cannot cancel which is why they do not have
the option under the Problem Order.

After seeing this for years I simply can't comprehend why someone would mix
up "buyer" and "seller".
Just like saying "I was the passenger" then "errr sorry I was the
driver" - how can you mix this? It seems common, maybe some english/US thing
I'm not aware of?

OP didn’t mix up buyer/seller, you just didn’t understand the unusually phrased
sentence.
They didn’t say “I tried to cancel as a buyer,” they said “I tried, as (a buyer
and I) agreed to cancel.”

Here’s how the sentence is structured:
(Trying to put in a cancellation request)
as
((a buyer and I) have agreed to cancel)
So, “as” = “because,” not “in the role of.”
I must say though that “because when” is a bit unsettling. I guess that it means
“I’m trying and not succeeding because” but I expected a simple “but.”

If you are a buyer, you can only request an order cancellation. The seller has
to put through the actual cancellation.

Sorry - I'm wrong it's clear:
"Trying to put in a cancellation request as a buyer and I have agreed
to cancel
because when I go to the problem order page"
Problem isn't the language, but the lack of punctuation
Like in "I love baking my family and my friends."
(I love baking, my family, and my friends.)

Yes, it would have helped.
| Like in "I love baking my family and my friends."
(I love baking, my family, and my friends.)

Even with commas, English is complicated: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_comma
(TBH, the ambiguous examples can often be translated literally in French and
they’ll be ambiguous too. But let’s not be honest and continue bashing that
awful English language )

to count
